Chapter 154 Ashley's Parents' Persistence
"Birthmark?"
Landon and Liam exchanged glances.
"Yeah, she has a red birthmark behind her ear and a mole on her left collarbone. Plus, she wears a sapphire necklace that's a family heirloom. If you find someone like that, do a DNA test."
Landon and Liam nodded seriously.
"Mom, don't worry. We'll find our sister," Landon assured.
Mia sighed, her face full of sorrow. Thinking about her daughter being homeless made her cry again.
"Mom, don't be sad. We'll find her," Liam added.
"Her birthday's coming up. She's been missing for so long; I wonder if she's ever had a proper birthday," Mia said, tears streaming down her face.
Landon and Liam hugged her, trying to comfort her.
Mia, exhausted, soon fell asleep. The brothers quietly left the room to visit their father.
The White family was shattered by their sister's disappearance. Mia cried until she went blind, and John lost his sanity, ending up in a mental hospital.
They approached John's room. He was muttering in a corner, pointing at a cockroach.
"One daughter, two daughters, three daughters... so many daughters," John mumbled, reaching out to the cockroach like he wanted to hug it.
The cockroach flew away, and John jumped up, agitated. "Dear, come back."
It flew towards the window. John, without a second thought, dove headfirst out the window. Landon, terrified, grabbed him just in time.
"Dad, wake up. That's just a cockroach, not our sister."
John pushed Landon away. "Who are you? Why are you stopping me? My daughter fell out the window; I need to save her..."
"Dad, it's me, Landon. Look closely," Landon said, shaking him.
John stared at Landon, slowly coming to his senses. "Landon is here."
"Dad, please sit down," Landon urged.
John sat but quickly sprang up. "Landon, didn't you say you found her last time? Where is she? Bring her to see me!"
Landon hesitated. "I..."
Liam jumped in, "Dad, don't get excited. We found her, but she's recovering from an injury. Once she's better, we'll bring her to see you..."
