Chapter 274 Ethan's Heartbroken
Faced with Ivy's accusations, Ashley was totally lost.
She was sure she hadn't done anything to piss Ivy off, but Ivy just wouldn't let it go.
Ashley shot her a cold look. "Spill it. How am I no good?"
Ivy sneered, "You slut, sneaking around behind my son's back. Now everyone knows, and you still act all high and mighty?"
Before Ivy could finish, a loud "slap!" echoed as Ethan's hand met her face.
Ethan had never hit a woman before!
If he wasn't pushed to the edge, why else would he slap Ivy in anger?
Ivy's eyes went wide as she clutched her face, staring at Ethan in shock, almost screaming, "Ethan! You hit me for this woman!"
Ethan's voice was ice-cold, "Ivy, you're not my mother anymore. Stop meddling in my business. Right now, you look like a common shrew. Being your son is an embarrassment!"
Ivy's heart shattered.
"And!" Ethan continued, "Ashley is my wife. Watch your mouth. If you disrespect her again, I'll call the cops!"
"Fine!" Ivy laughed like a maniac, "I can't believe my own flesh and blood would choose this woman over his mother! You're truly an ungrateful wretch. If I had known you'd turn out like this, I would've killed you at birth!"
Ashley gasped, "Ivy, do you even hear yourself?"
She glanced at Ethan. His face was full of anger, but a flash of sadness crossed his eyes when Ivy said those words.
What kind of mother calls her own kid a wretch?
Even though Ethan was trying to keep it together, Ashley knew he must be hurting inside.
"Shut up! What right do you have to lecture me?" Ivy, furious, whipped out her phone and said, "Ethan. She's a promiscuous woman. She secretly met with a strange man today. You're being cheated on, and you're still defending her. Are you stupid?"
Ethan snatched Ivy's phone and saw the screen filled with intimate photos of a man and a woman. His eyes darkened.
Seeing his expression, Ashley stepped forward to check, "Nonsense! When did I ever cheat?"
These photos were doctored, but the scenes were familiar. They were from this afternoon when she and Yaakov left the private room.
Could it be that Ivy had someone doctor the photos to stir up trouble?
Ashley said, "These photos are fake. I don't even know this man. But the scene is from this afternoon when Yaakov and I went to the private room for therapy. Ivy, I have no grudge against you. Why are you plotting against me?"
"Ethan, I'm your real mother. You're turning against me for this woman. Do you think it's worth it?" Ivy shouted.
The atmosphere grew tense, like a powder keg ready to blow.
"You're twisting the truth. How shameless!" Ashley was fuming.
Ethan said firmly, "It's worth it!"
Ashley was stunned by his words, looking at him in disbelief. Being defended by him, she felt a tinge of sweetness in her heart.
Ethan said, "Ivy, even if these photos were real, even if she did cheat, I wouldn't care!"
Ashley frowned slightly, looking at Ethan in confusion.
Ethan held Ashley's hand and said solemnly, "To me, she's not just my wife; she's also the savior of the Yates Group. As long as she's by my side, even if she has someone else, I would forgive her!"
Ashley felt a mix of sweetness and anger.
What did Ethan take her for? Did he think she was the kind of person who would cheat in a marriage?
Ivy was livid, "Ethan, you're such a fool!"
She had intended to bring Ashley down, but Ethan defended her so fiercely. How could a man truly tolerate his wife cheating?
Ivy couldn't wrap her head around it! She thought he must be out of his mind!
Ethan sneered, "Whether I'm a fool or a wretch, it has nothing to do with you. I told you not to show up at the Yates villa. It seems you didn't take my words seriously. You'll regret this!"
Ethan glanced at the timid servant in the distance and ordered, "Release the dogs in the backyard!"
"Ethan, you dare to set the dogs on me?" Ivy was shocked.
"You crossed the line!"
"Honey, let's go!" Ethan held Ashley's hand and walked into the house. Ashley looked back and heard a few dog barks, followed by Ivy's screams.
"Ethan, listen to me. I have something to tell you. Felicity, she's pregnant. You beasts, get away from me!" Ivy shouted.
Ashley softened, "Honey, stop it. You can't really let the dogs bite your mom!"
Ethan's face was ashen, "She's not my mom. What kind of mother calls her own son a wretch?!"
