Chapter 181 Misunderstanding Resolved 2
Olivia pushed Ashley's wheelchair into the living room, and Sienna filled everyone in on what had just happened.
Ashley looked down, clearly upset.
"Ashley, listen, don't get the wrong idea. Mr. Yates isn't seeing another woman."
"But..." Ashley said, "I called him twice, and both times a woman answered. They even said some intimate things."
Ashley bit her lip, trying to hold back her pain.
"Yeah, Ashley heard it twice. How could there be any misunderstanding? Ethan hasn't even apologized. Instead, he made her travel while injured. Is this how he shows love? He's trying to kill her."
Sienna became increasingly angry as she spoke, and the sudden emotional upset caused a pain in her stomach. She clutched her belly, feeling uncomfortable.
"Sienna!" Ashley asked, worried, "What's wrong?"
"I'm fine, just really angry!"
Ashley knew Sienna cared deeply for her, which made her feel guilty.
Thomas looked confused, glancing between Ashley and Sienna.
"How could Mr. Yates be flirting with another girl? He's been so busy, he barely has time to breathe. The company had an issue, and he rushed to Ferndale without even having breakfast."
"Mrs. Wilson, it's my fault. Mr. Yates didn't ask you to go to Ferndale. I lied because I saw other guys being attentive to you and got worried. Please forgive me."
Everyone was stunned.
"Then... what about the woman's voice I heard on the phone?"
Thomas thought for a moment. "Mr. Yates got angry and threw Miss Zito into the restricted area. He also kicked Mrs. Ivy Yates out of the mansion. I think he punished them because of this."
Ashley was shocked. "Mom and Ms. Zito were kicked out?"
"Yes."
Ashley stayed silent, thinking.
"Does he know what happened the night before last?" she asked.
Thomas shook his head. "I haven't told him yet."
Ashley sighed in relief. Everything made sense now. She felt relieved but also angry at herself for not trusting him.
"I think I know the reason..." she murmured.
Sienna looked puzzled. "Ashley, what's going on?"
Ashley gave a bitter smile. "Maybe Mom set this up because she doesn't like me."
Sienna got the idea. "How despicable! How could Ivy do that to Ethan?"
Ashley looked sad but quickly hid it.
"Thomas, what happened at the company?"
Thomas explained, "It's about the order we collaborated on with the Queen of Ferndale. The goods got damaged during sea transport. Mr. Yates flew to Ferndale for negotiations."
Ashley was shocked. "Is it the royal order worth billions?"
Everyone gasped.
Sienna exclaimed, "Ashley, breaching that contract means paying several times the penalty. Even if the Yates Group had a gold mine, it wouldn't cover it!"
If negotiations failed, the company could collapse.
Ashley bit her lip, hating herself for doubting Ethan during his busiest time. She felt utterly ashamed.
"I want to help Ethan. Can you help me contact someone?" she murmured.
