Felicity slipped into her secret attic hideaway and turned on the surveillance gear to listen to Landon's voice.
"Hey, little kitty, you're so cute. You're a boy, huh? What should I name you?"
"You're a little white cat."
"I'll call you Bolt. You're one cool kitty."
She listened, imagining herself as the cat being petted by Landon. Suddenly, her phone rang, snapping her out of her daydream. Seeing the caller ID, fear flashed in her eyes.
"Where the hell are you? Get back here now."
"I... I'll be right back..."
Her voice shook as she packed up and rushed back to the Zito mansion. As soon as she walked in, something hit her head, making her bleed.
David yelled, "Useless! You've been with Ethan so long and still aren't pregnant?"
"Dad, it takes over a month to confirm a pregnancy... it hasn't been that long yet."
Felicity had always been scared of David. She trembled whenever she saw him.
"You only spent one night with him. Have you been together since?"
"No..."
"If you're not pregnant in a month, the Xavier family will buy out all our shares. Then you and your mom will be on the streets."
Felicity kept her head down, too scared to respond.
"Just looking at you makes me sick!"
David wanted to slap her but held back. "I don't care how you do it, you must get pregnant. Even if it's not his child, you must get pregnant!"
David's eyes were cold and menacing. Felicity stepped back in fear. David snarled, "I've raised you for years, and you haven't done anything for this family."
"Dad, don't come any closer, I..."
Felicity's pupils dilated in fear. Just then, her phone rang. She saw the caller ID and felt a glimmer of hope.
"Dad, it's Aunt Ivy."
"Answer it!"
With trembling hands, she picked up. "Felicity, what are you doing?"
"I'm... at home..."
"Why do you sound hesitant? Are you cold?"
"No..."
David glared at her to speak properly.
Suppressing her fear, she said, "Aunt Ivy, what's up?"
"Don't you remember? I called you to come to the Yates family. Have you left yet? I can send a driver."
"Okay, thank you, Aunt Ivy."
After hanging up, she said, "Dad, Aunt Ivy wants me at the Yates family. You can't hit me anymore."
"You're lucky. Serve Ethan well and please Ivy. If you offend them, I'll break every bone in your body."
"Got it."
Felicity bowed. After David left, she sighed in relief and went to her room to tend to her wound. Looking at her reflection, she sighed, "Felicity, when will you escape this hell?"
Half an hour later, the Yates family's driver picked her up. As she entered their living room, she heard laughter. Ivy beamed, "Felicity, you're here! Come sit. I made your favorite desserts."
Ivy noticed the bandage on her forehead. "Felicity, what happened?"
Felicity forced a laugh. "I wasn't paying attention and bumped my head."
"How careless. It must hurt."
Felicity stayed silent.
"Come, sit down." Ivy linked arms with her and seated her next to Ethan. "Felicity, sit next to Ethan. Ashley, you don't mind, do you?"
