Chapter 322 Missing Each Other

Liam turned the whole place into a chaotic mess. William, who was used to living alone, felt like his head was going to explode with all the noise Liam was making!

So, William spoke up to stop him.

Liam looked aggrieved, and William remembered what Ashley had said. He had no choice but to snatch the kitchen knife from Liam, and in a few swift moves, he grabbed the chicken and duck, slit their throats, and let the blood drain right in front of Liam.

Seeing this, Liam quickly ran to Ashley's side to help her with the vegetables, "Mr. Lynch is so scary!"

Ashley looked at William with a warning tone, "William! You can't bully Liam!"

William snorted coldly and went to clean the meat. For a moment, the place returned to its quiet state.

Two hours later

A steaming, sumptuous dinner was ready.

Liam called Mia and John over. They looked at the feast and were drooling.

Liam said, "Ashley, Your food is always so good, but today's dish smells incredibly delicious?"

William replied, "Of course, these vegetables are all organic, and these poultry, I raised them myself. Naturally, they taste better than what you get at the market."

"Let's eat," William added.

Everyone started eating. Ashley served chicken to John and Mia. Seeing William glaring at Ashley with a jealous look, Ashley gave William a piece of chicken. 'William, you should eat more.

Only then did William look satisfied.

Ashley then gave Liam a piece of chicken. "Liam, you should try this too."

Hearing this, Liam lowered his head and ate the chicken, the original flavor of chicken filling his mouth, along with a faint scent of medicine. Liam said, "Ashley, why does the food taste like medicine?"

Ashley nodded and said, "Mom and Dad aren't in good health. William picked some herbs he grew himself, and I used them to make a medicinal meal to boost your immunity."

Liam finally understood and nodded, then buried his head in his food.

After everyone was full, Liam took the initiative to wash the dishes. John started to doze off again, so Ashley helped John and Mia to their room to rest.

After they fell asleep, Ashley tucked them in and returned to the living room.

In the living room, William was playing chess by himself. Liam, having finished washing the dishes, sat opposite William to watch. After a while, he said, "Mr. Lynch, can I play chess with you?"

William looked at Liam with disdain. "You? You'd lose in two moves."

Liam said, "You're underestimating me."

The two started playing chess, completely ignoring Ashley. Seeing this, Ashley smiled, turned around, and went to the courtyard. She sat on the swing among the flowers, gently swaying and looking at the starry sky. Ashley remembered she hadn't called Ethan today.

So, Ashley took out her phone and tried to call Ethan.

To her surprise, there was no signal, and the phone couldn't make calls. At this moment, it could only be used as a clock.

Looking at the sky, Ashley murmured, "I wonder what Ethan is doing, if he's thinking about me. I can't even call him. I miss him so much."

Meanwhile, Ethan finished his work and returned to the hotel, feeling exhausted.

After washing up, Ethan picked up his phone to call Ashley. However, it came to the phone, "The number you have dialed is not in service."

Ethan frowned, opened Ashley's WhatsApp, and saw that she had posted a status: [Heading to the countryside with my family for a few days.]

The picture showed four people.

So, she went to the countryside. Maybe the signal was bad there, which is why the call didn't go through. But seeing that Ashley was with her family, Ethan felt relieved.

Ethan opened a bottle of red wine and poured it into a wine glass. He went to the balcony, looked at the starry sky, and took a sip of wine, his longing for Ashley growing stronger.

Ethan gently swirled the wine in his glass and murmured, "Ashley, I miss you, and you?"

They didn't know that at this very moment, they were gazing at the same starry sky from different places, a feeling of indescribable beauty.

The long night stretched on, and the two, unable to reach each other, were filled with their longing for each other.

Ethan stood on the balcony, gazing at the stars for who knows how long, until he felt a bit sleepy and decided to go to bed. Out of the corner of his eye, he saw the light turn on in the hotel room next door.

Just as Ethan took a step, the balcony door of the next room opened, and someone walked out, spotting Ethan. The person looked surprised and said, "Sir, what a coincidence, you're staying here too?"

It was Annie.

Ethan squinted his eyes, his face cold, "Quite the coincidence."

He let out a cold laugh and turned to leave. Encountering Annie suddenly, Ethan thought of her as a gold digger with bad motives and didn't show any kindness.

"Sir!" Annie called out. "About the compensation, I don't understand a lot of things. My boyfriend will be here tomorrow. He can talk to you about the compensation in person!"

With one foot already in the room, Ethan's guard lowered slightly upon hearing the words, and his voice wasn't as cold, "Alright, we'll talk tomorrow."
