Chapter 517 Is Death the Only Ending?
Ethan felt his mind explode. Ashley was kissing him willingly—proof that her feelings for him were genuine, despite her reluctance to admit them.
Discovering Ashley's true feelings filled Ethan with overwhelming joy.
When their passionate kiss ended, Ethan held her breathless form and asked, "Pearl, do you know what you're doing?"
Ashley's face flushed crimson as she looked up at him with sparkling eyes. "Yes."
Ethan's throat tightened. "I promised I wouldn't touch you without your consent. Are you sure this is what you want?"
Ashley nodded. "Yes."
His heart raced. "Remember, this is entirely your choice."
With that, he leaned down and pressed her against the bed.
Although intoxicated, Ashley wasn't completely without reason. She simply allowed herself to surrender to impulses she might normally restrain—perhaps deliberately using the alcohol as an excuse.
Ethan's kisses showered over her, and Ashley responded with half-closed eyes, her arms embracing him as she matched his passion.
The basement
"Mary, your injuries have mostly healed. When will I get my payment for the facial reconstruction surgery?"
"Come with me first. I guarantee you'll get your money."
"Don't play games with me. I never do business at a loss."
"I wouldn't dream of deceiving you," Mary insisted. "If you don't trust me, I'll call my friend right now. She owes me hundreds of thousands—I'll collect it immediately!"
"Fine. Give me the money first, or don't expect any mercy."
Andrei handed Mary his phone. She dialed, and after several rings, someone answered.
A tearful voice came through, "Who is this?"
"Ina, it's Mary!"
There was a pause. "Mary? You're risking my life by calling me."
"Ina, remember the money you owe me? I need it urgently."
Ina's eyes gleamed with calculation. "Alright. Let's meet to discuss it."
After arranging a time and location, Mary turned to Andrei. "You heard her. We're meeting."
"Fine, but I'm coming with you. Don't try anything."
"Trust me. I need your facial disguise technique for my revenge. I wouldn't trick you. Let's go."
They left together, heading to the arranged meeting at the docks.
A young woman was already waiting by the waterfront railing.
"Ina."
Ina turned around—a woman in her early twenties with features remarkably similar to Mary's.
Mary approached, noticing Ina's swollen face and red-rimmed eyes. "What happened to you?"
Ina explained. "My father is forcing me to marry Prince Totti, even though he knows I'm in love with someone else. He's sacrificing me for political advantage."
"Count Atreides is giving you to Prince Totti?"
Ina nodded through her tears.
Mary's eyes flashed with cunning. "Ina, you don't want to marry Prince Totti, correct?"
"Of course not. You know I'm in love with someone else. We've already promised ourselves to each other."
Mary nodded thoughtfully. "Everyone says we look alike. If you're willing, I could marry Totti in your place, while you escape with your lover."
Ina looked at her in astonishment. "Would that really work?"
"Unless you're prepared to marry Prince Totti, there's no other option."
Ina shook her head vigorously. "Never. I can't marry him. I don't love him!"
After a moment's consideration, Ina handed Mary her driver's license and identification documents. "From today, you're Ina, and I'll disappear with the man I love. Thank you, Mary."
Mary's lips curved into a smile as they embraced.
"I wish you happiness, Ina."
"Mary, I've heard Prince Totti keeps a woman and two children in his Azure Palace. Are you sure about this?"
Mary's smile turned sinister. "Absolutely. I won't rest until that woman and those brats are gone!"
Ina sensed Mary's unsettling intensity but was too preoccupied with her own escape. After exchanging clothes and sharing a few final details, Ina departed by boat with her beloved.
Mary waved until the boat disappeared, then her expression hardened into a cold laugh. "What a fool, giving up the position of princess for some penniless lover!"
She handed Andrei a bank card. "Doctor, I expect you to keep your word and replicate her face as quickly as possible."
"No problem."
Mary smiled triumphantly at the darkening sky, silently vowing, 'Prince Totti, I've returned. This time, I will have you. And as for that woman and those children—their only fate is death.'
