Chapter 319 He Will Take Responsibility for the Child
"Get lost!" Landon practically roared when Felicity suddenly hugged him.
He shoved her away, and she stumbled back onto the couch, clutching her stomach, her face pale.
"Felicity, you make me sick!" Landon spat. "You think you can use that baby to worm your way into the White family? Not a chance!"
"If you don't get rid of it, I'll sue you for trapping me!" He turned on his heel and stormed out.
Felicity chased after him, grabbing onto his leg, pleading, "Landon, please! I've already been convicted. If you sue me again, I can't handle it!"
Tears streamed down her face. "I had no choice. The Zito family doesn't want me. I was forced into this. I just like you. I know you don't feel the same, and I don't expect you to, but please, let me keep this baby."
Landon's voice was ice-cold. "Get lost!"
"You think you can trap me just because you're pitiable? What about me? Why should I pity you?" He pushed her away again and walked off. Felicity's tears flowed freely as she watched him leave. Suddenly, she bolted upstairs.
By the time Landon reached the yard, Felicity was already on the rooftop. She yelled down at him, "Landon, if you don't take responsibility for my child, I'll jump!"
She climbed to the edge of the balcony, ready to leap if he took another step.
The police, who had been monitoring outside the Zito Mansion, rushed over. "What's going on?"
Landon stopped and looked up at her, his expression cold.
"Landon, if you don't take responsibility, I'll jump!" Felicity shouted.
"Go ahead," Landon said coldly. "Just don't dirty my eyes."
Felicity moved her foot, looking like she was about to jump.
The police on the scene quickly intervened. "Ms. Zito, don't do anything rash."
One of the officers suggested, "Sir, even though she's a criminal, she has the right to live. Can you just calm her down for now?"
Several officers quietly approached the balcony.
Landon watched, his face hard. "Why should I calm her down? She drugged me to get pregnant! Why should I care if she lives or dies?"
"Sir, let's prioritize safety first," one of the officers urged.
Landon took a deep breath, trying to calm himself.
Seeing his attitude soften, Felicity seized the moment. "Landon, I'll die right in front of you!" she cried and bent her body to jump.
A police officer lunged and grabbed her just in time.
Landon didn't want to care about her, but seeing her jump made his heart skip a beat. Anyone would be scared seeing someone jump from a building.
"Let go of me!" Felicity struggled.
"Ms. Zito, don't do anything foolish. We can talk this out," the officer said, pulling her back.
The police brought Felicity back to the living room, and Landon was blocked by them.
After getting the gist of the situation from Felicity, the police started persuading Landon. He felt dizzy from their words, extremely annoyed. With a dark expression, he finally said, "Fine! I'll take responsibility for the child."
He shot a cold glance at Felicity. "But remember, I'm only responsible for the child. Don't even think about becoming Mrs. White!"
With that, he left.
Felicity didn't cry or make a fuss this time as he walked away.
Landon got back in the car, and the driver took him to the White Group.
On the way, just thinking about Felicity made him feel sick.
Suddenly, his phone rang. It was his assistant.
"Hello," Landon answered.
"Mr. White, Ms. Zook has left Aurora. She didn't go to Maridia but to Kamira," the assistant reported.
Hearing about Samantha calmed him a bit, but when he thought about his responsibility for Felicity's child and the possibility of losing Samantha forever, his mood darkened again.
"Did you send her the money?" Landon asked.
"She returned it," the assistant replied.
Landon rubbed his temples. 'What a stubborn woman,' he thought.
"Alright, don't report anything about Samantha to me in the future," he said.
"Understood."
They hung up, and Landon stared out the window, feeling something stir in his heart, only to crush it ruthlessly.
