Chapter 364 Felicity's Miscarriage
Felicity was recuperating in the hospital when her brother, Andrew Zito, came to visit under the pretense of checking on her. The bodyguards outside had received strict orders that Felicity was not allowed to leave, but after a moment of hesitation, they allowed Andrew entry.
Upon catching sight of Andrew, Felicity's expression darkened. "What are you doing here?" she demanded.
Andrew, with a nonchalant attitude, replied, "Felicity, ever since you became involved with Landon, life seems to have taken a turn for the better. You're even staying in a VIP room!"
Felicity frowned, impatiently asking, "What do you want?"
In an arrogant tone, Andrew demanded, "Give me $500,000."
Felicity retorted, "How do you expect me to come up with that kind of money?"
Andrew insisted, "I don't care. If you don't give me $500,000, the guys at the gambling den will chop off my hand. Landon is so rich, and you're sleeping with him and having his baby. Just ask him for the money."
Though visibly displeased, Felicity knew Andrew wouldn't relent without a response. So she said, "Landon won't give me money. If you don't believe me, I'll call him right now and let you hear for yourself."
Saying this, Felicity took Andrew's phone and called Landon.
However, Landon and Liam were deep in the mountains, fishing with their parents and William, and had no cell signal, so they couldn't receive Felicity's call.
Felicity put the phone on speaker, "The number you have dialed is temporarily unavailable."
"See? Landon isn't even answering his phone. Even if he did, he wouldn't give me money." Felicity declared.
"I don't believe you. I'm going to call again!" Andrew grabbed the phone and kept dialing, but no matter how many times he tried, the automated message repeated.
"Felicity, Landon must have given you money. Hand it over!" Andrew demanded.
"I don't have any!" Felicity protested.
"Give it to me!" Andrew's tone grew more forceful.
Andrew, looking fierce, ignored everything and started searching her.
"Let go of me! What are you doing?" Felicity exclaimed.
Andrew coldly said, "You must have hidden the money. Tell me where it is!"
"Don't touch me." Felicity waved her hands, and the two of them started pushing each other. The commotion quickly caught the attention of the bodyguards.
"What are you doing? Stop!" the bodyguards intervened, startling Andrew. Unwilling to give up, he pushed Felicity, causing her to tumble off the edge of the bed amidst their scuffle.
Felicity screamed in pain, clutching her abdomen. "My baby." she cried out.
As she spoke, blood started flowing down her thigh.
"This is a disaster! Doctor, Felicity is bleeding!" the bodyguard shouted.
Seeing the trouble he had caused, Andrew cursed, "Useless!" before hastily retreating while the bodyguards called for a doctor.
The doctor rushed Felicity to the operating room.
Ten minutes later, the doctor emerged and inquired, "Who here is a family member of the patient? The situation is critical, she's experiencing a miscarriage. The baby might not survive. We need family consent for surgery."
The two bodyguards exchanged worried glances.
"Doctor, please wait." one of them pleaded.
They tried calling Landon, but he was still unreachable, and the bodyguards were sweating with anxiety.
Suddenly, another doctor rushed out, urgently exclaiming, "Doctor, it's urgent! The patient is hemorrhaging. The baby can't be saved. We need to perform a blood transfusion immediately."
"Where are the patient's family members?" the doctor inquired.
The bodyguards, with a sense of helplessness, replied,, "We can't reach him."
With a heavy sigh, the doctor declared, "We can't wait any longer. The patient's life is at stake. We need to save her first."
Because of Andrew's push, Felicity lost her baby. She lost a lot of blood and only survived after a transfusion. Upon regaining consciousness, she was met with her empty belly..
Felicity, emotionally agitated, asked, "Where's my baby? Is my baby okay?"
"Ms. Zito, you were hemorrhaging. The baby couldn't be saved. To save your life, the doctor had to perform surgery. The baby is gone." the bodyguard informed her.
"No, how could this happen!" Felicity wailed. "Where's Landon? Get him here!"
"We can't reach Mr. White." the bodyguard replied in a resigned tone.
Filled with a deep sense of resentment, Felicity vowed, "Andrew, you will pay for this!"
"Ms. Zito, you can't leave. Mr. White instructed that you must stay within our sight." the bodyguards interjected, halting her.
"Why!" Felicity demanded.
The bodyguards exchanged uneasy glances, unable to give a clear answer.
Felicity, consumed by heartbreak, erupted in a cry, "Get out! All of you, get out!"
Curling up on the bed, she cradled her head in her hands, tears flowing freely down her cheeks.
With the baby gone, Felicity lost her leverage over Landon and would be sent back to prison.
Outside, the two bodyguards were chatting.
"Why doesn't Mr. White allow her to leave?"
"I heard Felicity overheard something she shouldn't have, and they're afraid she might disclose it, so they're keeping her under surveillance."
Hearing the bodyguards' conversation, Felicity recalled overhearing Ashley's phone call. surge of intense hatred and vengeful intent flickered in her eyes.
Filled with malice, Felicity seethed, "Ashley! You ruined me! I will get my revenge on you!"
Felicity was enveloped in a cold aura, her eyes bloodshot, her countenance contorted into a sinister visage reminiscent of a demon from the depths of hell.
Her gaze fell on the window, then on the bedsheet. She twisted the sheet into a rope, tied it to the bed, and escaped through the window.
Moments later
A doctor entered the room to attend to her wounds, only to exclaim in shock, "The patient escaped through the window!"
The bodyguards rushed to the window and saw Felicity's staggering figure in the distance. "She hasn't gone far. Quick, chase her!"
