Chapter 436 Supporting My Sons
Andy and Nate exchanged bewildered glances, blinking in surprise.
As identical twins, they had always shared a special connection, almost reading each other's thoughts. In this moment, both felt strangely drawn to this handsome stranger - they couldn't shake the peculiar feeling that he might somehow be their father.
Andy's ears turned red as he shyly looked away.
"It's okay, sir," Nate said softly. "We don't blame you."
Ethan turned to Andy, who briefly met his gaze before saying, "I was wrong too. I promise I won't put cockroaches in Angela's backpack anymore."
'What well-behaved children,' Ethan thought with genuine admiration. He wondered what kind of mother could raise such polite and understanding kids.
"Good boys," he said warmly.
Standing up, Ethan turned to Atticus and offered a sincere apology. "I'm truly sorry."
"No problem," Atticus replied, finally recovering from his shock.
Taking the twins' hands, Atticus said, "Come on, let's get you to class."
The boys waved goodbye to Ethan. "Bye, sir!"
Watching them walk away, Ethan felt an unexpected pang of longing. He actually wanted to walk them into school himself. The realization startled him - why was he so drawn to these unfamiliar children? Perhaps it was just their charm and good manners.
"Shall we go in too?" Angela asked.
Snapping back to reality, Ethan asked, "Angela, why do the other children bully those boys?"
"Everyone in our class comes from wealthy families except them," she explained. "They're just regular kids. And they don't have a daddy, so others pick on them."
Ethan frowned. "But wasn't that their father just now?"
Angela shrugged. "I don't know why they never mention having a daddy if they do."
Ethan knelt down to her level and placed his hands on her shoulders. "Angela, watching bullying happen is wrong too. Even if you didn't say or do anything hurtful, standing by is still harmful. Promise me you won't do that again, okay?"
"I actually wanted to help when they pushed Nate into the mud," Angela admitted, hanging her head. "But there were too many of them, and I was scared. When Nate came out covered in mud, I couldn't help laughing. I didn't mean to."
Ethan's expression softened. Children were still learning how to navigate difficult situations.
"If you can't help someone safely, find an adult who can," he advised. "Next time, go get a teacher instead."
"I understand now," Angela nodded solemnly.
"Good. Let's get you to class."
After dropping Angela off, Ethan ran into Atticus again in the hallway. They exchanged brief nods of acknowledgment.
"Your Highness, shall we return to the palace?" his assistant asked.
"Wait," Ethan replied, watching through the classroom window.
Inside, a heavyset boy immediately approached the twins. "Hey! For tomorrow's father-child event, everyone's bringing their dads. You two bastards without a father will be the laughingstock of the entire school!"
Andy simply ignored him.
Realizing he couldn't provoke Andy, the bully turned to Nate. "You should just quit school! Next time, I won't push you into mud - I'll throw you into a cesspool!"
"Did you even brush your teeth this morning, fatty?" Nate retorted. "Your breath smells like you've been eating garbage! It's suffocating!"
The bully's face reddened with rage. "How dare you! You're dead!"
As the heavyset boy rolled up his sleeves, Andy stepped in front of his brother protectively. Despite his young age, he projected an intense presence remarkably similar to Ethan's. "Try touching my brother," he challenged coldly.
"Guys, get over here! Let's teach them a lesson!" the bully shouted.
Several boys surrounded the twins, ready to attack.
Seeing this, Angela remembered her brother's words. "Stop it!" she called out. "The teacher will be here any second. Do you want to get in trouble?"
Her warning worked. The mention of authority immediately deflated the bullies' courage, and the bell rang just in time. The boys reluctantly returned to their seats.
Andy and Nate looked at Angela with gratitude. She smiled at them - her beautiful smile as bright as a rainbow. The twins smiled back, and in that moment, a new friendship was formed.
"Your Highness," the assistant gently reminded.
Ethan came back to his senses. Watching the bullying scene had filled him with unexpected anger - he'd actually wanted to rush in and defend the twins himself. Thankfully, Angela had handled it well.
"Take me to the principal's office," Ethan commanded.
The door was open, so Ethan walked straight in and sat down in the principal's chair, his commanding presence suggesting he was the one in charge.
The principal, standing by the window, turned in surprise. "Who are you? How dare you enter without knocking!"
Ethan's assistant displayed a golden emblem bearing the royal insignia - a symbol that commanded immediate respect.
The principal's face paled as he finally recognized his visitor. "Y-Your Highness , what an unexpected honor! Let me get you some coffee."
"That won't be necessary," Ethan replied coldly. "I have an urgent matter to discuss."
The nervous principal sat down as Ethan continued, "I've discovered bullying at your school. Two twin boys have been targeted for quite some time."
He fixed the principal with a stern look. "Do you know what needs to be done about this?"
"Of course, Your Highness," the principal stammered. "I'll handle it personally. It won't happen again."
Ethan nodded and delivered his parting words with unmistakable authority, "Remember your promise. If those twins face any further bullying, this school will cease to exist."
As Ethan left, the principal wiped sweat from his brow. Of course he'd known about the bullying - but why would a commoner's children matter more than those of the elite?
But why would Prince Totti himself intervene for these particular boys? The principal suddenly noticed the striking resemblance between the twins and the prince.
Could they possibly be... the prince's secret children?
If so, those boys would need to be treated like royalty from now on.
