Chapter 295 Biological Mother
Ivy's crime was a done deal, the evidence was rock solid, but she still kept denying it like a stubborn mule.
Just when everyone thought the cops would take her down, a dude suddenly showed up.
That guy was Doris's dad, Caleb!
Caleb said, "Ms. Xavier you are wrong!"
As soon as he spoke, everyone started looking at each other, all confused and whispering, "What the heck is going on? Making false accusations is no joke. It's one thing to argue, but accusing each other of crimes? That's a whole new level. How am I supposed to figure out who's actually telling the truth?"
Caleb strolled into the place, and the moment Ivy saw him, her eyes flashed with a murderous look, like she was saying, 'If you dare say anything, I'll end you!'
But right now, Caleb wasn't scared of her at all!
Caleb said, "There's something about Ivy that Mrs. Yates doesn't know!"
"Caleb," Ivy roared, "Are you and the Jones family tired of living?"
Caleb sneered, "Ivy, you've been threatening us for over thirty years. Do you really think you still have the power to scare anyone now?"
Caleb looked at the cops and said, "Officers, this lady, besides the crimes she's already committed, has another crime you don't know about!"
Hearing this, Ashley almost knew what he was gonna say next.
She hadn't found the right moment to tell Ethan the truth about Doris.
It seemed like Caleb was ready to spill everything, and the Jones family was the best to tell the truth.
Caleb said angrily, "She illegally locked up my daughter for a year! That's one crime. She kept my daughter in a cellar and tortured her every day. That's the second crime! Even on the day my daughter gave birth, she made sure she bled out badly. That's the third crime. She also took my daughter's kid away. That's the fourth crime!"
With every word Caleb said, the hatred in his eyes grew stronger, like he was about to turn into a tsunami and swallow Ivy whole.
Ivy trembled, "You're lying, I didn't do that!"
Caleb sneered, "You thought Doris was dead, so you tossed her into the sea to get rid of the evidence. That's the fifth crime!"
"You're slandering me!" Ivy shouted angrily, but even though she seemed fierce, she was actually guilty and shaking with fear.
Ashley's eyes turned cold. Taking advantage of Ivy's distraction, she waved her hand and shoved Ivy away, then stepped back a few steps.
Ethan jumped in front of Ashley, shielding her, "Babe, you're hurt!"
Seeing the blood on her neck, Ethan was so mad he wanted to ripped Ivy apart right then and there.
Ashley, sensing his rage, grabbed his hand and said, "Babe, I'm okay. Let's hear them out."
Ethan wasn't having it, "There's nothing more for us here. We need to get you to the hospital."
Ashley felt comforted by his concern but knew she couldn't leave now.
She shook her head and locked eyes on Ivy, who was now on the ground. The cops had her pinned the moment she fell.
Ivy struggled a bit but couldn't break free, then started laughing like a maniac.
"You all are ganging up on me! My life is so miserable. I poured my heart and soul into raising my son, and since he got married he's been treating me like crap. Everyone, judge for yourselves, is there any son like Ethan who lets his wife push his mother to death?"
Ethan frowned, "You poured your heart and soul? Were all those times you abused me just nightmares? Ivy, your ability to twist the truth is truly impressive!"
Everyone around was in shock. So, the high and mighty Ethan had grown up being abused by such a vicious mother!
"Ivy," Caleb said, "we kept evidence of what you did back then!"
With that, he handed a document to Ryan.
Ryan opened it and read. The more he read, the more serious his face got.
Ivy didn't expect them to have kept evidence from so long ago. She was speechless and collapsed to the ground, her tears frozen.
Ivy laughed bitterly, "I never thought I'd be outsmarted by you, you bitch!"
"Are you satisfied now?" Ivy looked coldly at Ashley and said, "Do you think that by driving me away, you'll become the mistress of the Yates family?"
Ashley looked at her with eyes devoid of warmth, then glanced at Ethan. Ivy laughed maniacally, "Ethan, so what if you found your mother? Your mother is about to die trying to save you!"
Ethan's eyes widened, "What did you say!"
Ashley tightened her grip on his hand.
Caleb said, "Ethan, your mother is Doris, the poor woman who was imprisoned and had her child taken away by this vicious woman!"
Ethan's face turned pale. He mechanically turned to look at Ashley and saw that she wasn't surprised. Instead, she had a hint of guilt in her eyes. Ethan laughed bitterly, "You knew all along?"
