Chapter 145 Investigation
The Next Day.
Ashley fell off the bed and hurt herself last night, so early in the morning, Ethan handed company matters to Diannel and took Ashley to the hospital for a follow-up. He also wanted to check on Felicity's test results.
In the Consultation Room.
The doctor looked serious as he reviewed the test results.
Ethan, nervous, asked, "Doctor, how is she? Will it get worse?"
The doctor replied, "Mr. Yates, Mrs. Yates's condition hasn't worsened, but she needs to stay immobile to avoid long-term issues."
"Okay."
Ethan and Ashley both sighed in relief.
The doctor continued, "Mrs. Yates, come back in half a month for a follow-up and start rehab training afterward."
"Alright."
After the check-up, Samantha and May were waiting outside. Samantha asked, "How is it? Has it gotten worse?"
Ashley shook her head. "The doctor said it's not serious. I'll come back for a follow-up and rehab in half a month."
"That's good. Ashley, did you call May here to investigate something?"
Ashley nodded and gave Ethan a look.
Ethan said, "You guys chat. I have some things to take care of."
"Okay."
Ethan left. Samantha pushed Ashley's wheelchair and asked, "Ashley, what happened? How did you fall off the bed? Did something happen after I left last night? Did Ethan hurt you?"
Ashley didn't want to talk about it and said, "My fall has nothing to do with Ethan. Don't overthink it. May, I need you to do something."
"Ashley, what is it?"
Ashley said, "I need you to investigate Felicity. I want to know everything about her."
May replied, "Got it, I'll get on it right away."
May left to handle the task, unaware that someone had overheard their conversation.
"Ashley, why do you want to investigate Felicity?"
Thinking about last night, Ashley's eyes darkened. "Last night, Felicity barged into Ethan's room and accused him of bullying her. But I saw through her lies, and she eventually confessed."
"No way. Is there really someone that shameless?"
"After her antics last night, Ethan and I started to suspect something was off about that night."
"After analyzing it with Ethan, we think there's an issue with the hospital's test report. So Ethan is checking it out, and I asked May to investigate Felicity to find out why she's cooperating with Mom to frame us."
"I see."
"Felicity has no grudge against you guys. Why would she want to sabotage you? Could Ivy have something on her?"
Ashley shook her head. "I have no idea."
As they walked away, the person hiding around the corner emerged, eyes filled with malice. Ethan and Ashley were suspicious of that night and had started investigating!
This was something Felicity hadn't anticipated!
Last night, after being kicked out by Ethan, she returned to the Zito family and was beaten so badly by her father that her bones felt like they were falling apart. Early this morning, she dragged her aching body to the hospital for a check-up.
Unexpectedly, she ran into Ashley and Ethan and overheard crucial information.
Felicity felt a bit panicked.
If her plan was exposed, the Xavier family would no longer support the Zito family, and she would face another brutal beating upon returning to the Zito family.
To save her life, Felicity gritted her teeth and called the doctor she had met with the last time.
"Doctor, can we meet? Just at the Riverside Hotel next to the hospital."
"Okay, I'll book a room and send you the room number."
Meanwhile.
In the surveillance room, Ethan, as a major shareholder, demanded that the tech department pull up the surveillance footage of Felicity and Ivy's visit to the hospital as quickly as possible.
About half an hour later.
The technician said, "Mr. Yates, these are the people you're looking for."
