Chapter 612 Darling, We Should Have a Third Child

As the lunch hour arrived, staff members began leaving the office one by one. Ashley gathered her files and was heading out when she noticed Vivienne still at her desk, appearing deeply focused on work—though curiously reviewing meeting minutes from several years ago.

"Vivienne, it's lunchtime. Aren't you leaving?" Ashley asked with a raised eyebrow.

Vivienne scoffed. "Mind your own business. I'm working diligently here—are you trying to prevent me from proving myself?"

Ashley rolled her eyes. "Whatever suits you."

As she grabbed her purse to leave, Ethan emerged from his office, nearly colliding with her.

"Darling, didn't I arrange a day off for you? What are you doing at the office?" Ethan asked, surprised. He'd been in his office since the morning meeting, unaware Ashley had come to work.

"I figured I might as well be productive rather than sitting around at home. Shall we grab lunch together?"

Ethan smiled warmly. "I'd love that."

Ashley pushed his wheelchair as they left the office, completely ignoring Vivienne, whose face contorted with jealousy, her eyes hardening with resentment.

'Why is it,' Vivienne fumed silently, 'that when I invite Prince Totti to dine with me, he flatly refuses, blind to all my efforts? Yet Ashley merely suggests lunch, and he eagerly agrees!' Her thoughts grew increasingly bitter. 'Ashley, if you weren't in the picture, Prince Totti would be with me. Only with you gone will he finally notice me. I must eliminate you!'

Outside the building, Ashley voiced her concern. "Darling, are you comfortable leaving Vivienne alone in the office?"

Ethan smiled confidently. "Don't worry, everything is under my control."

Though Ashley didn't fully understand what Vivienne hoped to gain from Ethan, she recognized the woman wasn't to be underestimated. Judging by Ethan's demeanor, he seemed to have deliberately set a trap, waiting for Vivienne to fall into it.

"That's my husband—nothing escapes you," Ashley said with a proud smile. "What would you like for lunch?"

Ethan's lips curved upward. "Anything is fine."

"Let's have Aivalia cuisine, and I'll get some takeout for Isabella too."

Ethan's eyes flickered momentarily. "Sounds perfect."

Their lunch together was ordinary yet sweet. After they finished, Ethan took a phone call, and Ashley seized the opportunity to take two pills from her purse.

When Ethan returned, he caught her in the act. "Darling, are you taking medication? Are you feeling unwell?"

Ashley shook the pill bottle casually. "I'm fine, don't worry. Dr. Yaakov prescribed these to help restore my memory."

"Damn it, Yaakov gave you those pills again?" Ethan's tone sharpened.

"Again? He's given them to me before?"

Ethan confiscated the bottle, his expression stern. "These haven't even completed clinical trials. You shouldn't be taking them."

"Yaakov never mentioned that," Ashley said, surprised. "But he's such a skilled physician—surely there's no risk? Besides, I've already taken quite a few. If I continue a bit longer, I might recover my memories!"

Ethan took her hand tenderly. "Darling, whether or not you recover your memories doesn't matter anymore. We're together now—that's what counts."

"But I want to remember," Ashley insisted earnestly. "Not just our past together, but my family, my friends, my former career—everything! Yaakov says I was once a designer, a medical prodigy, with numerous talents. Yet I can't recall any of it." Her expression fell, eyes downcast.

Ethan's heart ached as he pulled her close. "I'm sorry, darling. I was being selfish. But these pills—I'm afraid of potential side effects."

"It'll be fine. Don't you trust Yaakov's expertise?"

Ethan gripped the pill bottle, recalling Ashley's recent sleepwalking episodes. 'Could these pills be causing her sleepwalking?' he wondered. Yet Yaakov's reputation remained impeccable—questioning him might only anger the doctor and jeopardize Ashley's chances of memory recovery.

"You look so serious," Ashley said, noting his expression. "Don't worry about the medication—I'm perfectly fine." She playfully wrapped her arms around his neck and planted a quick kiss on his lips.

Ethan raised an eyebrow and pulled her closer.

"What are you doing?" Ashley giggled.

Ethan captured her lips in a deep, passionate kiss that seemed to stretch into eternity.

When Ashley finally pulled away, breathless, Ethan gazed at her intensely. "I'll return the pills on one condition."

"What condition?"

With a mischievous smile, he whispered in her ear, "We're not getting any younger. If we wait too long for a third child, you'll be considered a geriatric mother. I'd rather not follow my parents' path of IVF later in life."

Holding her close, his eyes gleamed. "Let's put in some extra effort these next few months and try for a little brother or sister for Andy and Nate by next year."

Ashley blushed furiously. "But the doctor said you should avoid strenuous activity for six months!"

Ethan laughed seductively and whispered something in her ear that made her blush even deeper.

"I think that approach could work," he suggested, his hands beginning to wander.

Ashley pushed him away gently. "We're in a private dining room! Besides, I need to bring lunch to Isabella—don't make me too embarrassed to face people."

Seeing her adorable flustered state, Ethan kissed her firmly. "Silly, I'm just teasing. Baby-making is definitely a home activity. I wouldn't want anyone else seeing my wife like this!"

Ashley glared at him playfully. "You just love to tease me. I'm ignoring you now."

She extracted herself from his embrace, still blushing from his advances.

A knock interrupted them as a server arrived with their takeout. "Sir, madam, your packaged meal is ready."

"Thank you, you can leave it there," Ashley replied.

After the server left, Ashley picked up the food container. "Darling, shall we go to the hospital together to bring Isabella her lunch?"

Ethan smiled indulgently. "Of course."

Though he knew perfectly well that Isabella was no longer at Gold Valley District, he willingly played along with the charade. For him, it was simply an opportunity to enjoy a post-lunch stroll with Ashley.
