Chapter 108 Exposing Ava's Crimes 1
Ashley lay on the hospital bed, hurting all over. Seeing her in pain, Pauline suggested, "Hey, Ashley, want me to help you into a wheelchair for a little stroll?"
Ashley nodded. "Sure, thanks, Pauline."
"Thank me? We're best friends. It's my job to look after you."
"You've had such bad luck. First a miscarriage, now broken bones. You're strong and beautiful, but tragic. Ava's no match for you. You should deal with her!"
Ashley sighed. "Do I have to deal with every woman who has feelings for my husband? Ethan doesn't even like her. Why waste my energy? As long as she doesn't hurt my loved ones, I don't care."
"True."
Pauline helped her into the wheelchair. "How about a massage?"
Ashley smiled. "Thanks, dear. If I could move, I'd kiss you."
Pauline laughed. "Let's do it from a distance!"
Pauline puckered her lips, looking cute. Ashley did the same, and they blew kisses to each other, laughing and creating a warm atmosphere.
"Let's go, my lady," Pauline said, pushing Ashley's wheelchair down the hospital corridor.
It was past nine at night, but the corridor was still busy. A TV on the wall was showing the news.
"This just in: The president of Yates Group and Ms. White were caught meeting secretly. The two families had a marriage arrangement, but Mr. Yates is fooling around before his divorce. What do you think?"
The news showed 'intimate' photos of Ethan and Ava, with their faces pixelated. Ashley recognized Ethan immediately.
"Ashley, isn't that your husband?" Pauline exclaimed. "What a jerk! We couldn't reach him all afternoon, and he was out with that witch!"
Pauline got angrier, wishing she could punch Ethan.
Ashley was shocked by the news, especially the photos. Her heart felt crushed, but she remembered what Ethan had said earlier and tried to stay calm.
"Ethan called me earlier and told me to believe him if I saw any news."
So this was the news Ethan mentioned!
"Believe him? The evidence is right here. How can we trust him?"
Ashley suddenly smiled. "I said I believe him. He must have a plan."
Pauline facepalmed. "But aren't these photos real?"
Ashley shook her head. "What you see isn't always the truth!"
Just then, another news segment aired. "Mr. Yates, can you explain the situation? Are you planning to leave your wife for Ms. White?"
On TV, Ethan looked serious and cold, surrounded by bodyguards keeping reporters at bay.
Ethan's voice was icy. "Our PR department will hold a press conference at 9:30 tonight. You can ask questions then."
With that, Ethan walked away, and the bodyguards cleared a path for him.
Meanwhile, Ashley and Ava watched the news from different places.
Ashley felt confident, while Ava panicked...
At the Yates Group press conference, Ethan sat at the head of the table. "Regarding the news, any questions?"
"Mr. Yates, can you explain your situation with your wife and your relationship with Ms. White?"
"I've already stated in the media that I will marry Ms. White."
The crowd gasped. "So, are you abandoning Mrs. Yates?"
"Who said I was abandoning her?"
The crowd was puzzled. "Do you want two wives? That's illegal in Aivalia!"
Ethan smiled. "Why would I want two? The real Ms. White is actually my wife!"
This statement caused an uproar.
In front of the TV, Ashley was stunned.
Pauline exclaimed, "Ashley, you're actually Ms. White?"
Ashley murmured, "I didn't know..."
Meanwhile, the White family was also watching TV.
Liam said, "Landon, did you hear what Ethan said? He said Ashley is our sister?"
Landon replied, "Impossible. We did a DNA test with Ava. She's our sister. Ethan must be lying to avoid marrying our sister!"
On the other side, Ava, watching TV, was filled with resentment. She clenched her fists tightly, radiating a strong killing intent.
"Ethan, I hate you. You actually exposed me!"
At the press conference.
"Mr. Yates, why did you say that? Do you have any solid evidence?"
Ethan's voice was like that of a judge, impartial and stern, "Of course, please bring in the witness."
