Chapter 392 Ashley's Name

Ethan and the three members of the White family sat at the table.
Ethan said, "Mom, I have something for you."
Mia asked in surprise, "What is it?"
Ethan took out two documents from his briefcase and said, "Although Ashley and I have been married for over a year, I always felt like I owed her a sense of ceremony. I wanted to have a proper wedding, but a lot of things happened before, and it got delayed. I think it would be more appropriate for you to decide the date for the wedding."
The three members of the White family were a bit surprised.
Mia said emotionally, "Ethan, you are very thoughtful."
Seeing how much Ethan cared about Ashley, Mia felt very gratified and proud.
Ethan smiled gently and said, "I have already proposed to Ashley, but I still owe her a wedding."
"People always say that the most beautiful moment in a woman's life is when she wears her wedding dress." Ethan's eyes were full of tenderness, as if he was imagining Ashley in her wedding dress. "I want her to be the most beautiful bride in the world."
Ethan naturally didn't want Ashley to have any regrets.
Mia said, "We need to carefully consider the wedding date and choose a good day!"
Ethan nodded, "Of course."
As they were talking, William returned to the bamboo house.
Ethan looked back and didn't see Ashley, feeling puzzled and nervous. "William, why hasn't Ashley come back?"
William said, "Don't worry, I gave her an important task. Right now, she's at the Retreats studying, and she'll be out in three days."
"Studying at the Retreats?" Ethan frowned. "But she's pregnant now. Overworking isn't good for her health. Can't she study another day?"
William glared at him. "I'm more worried about her than you are, but she's learning a new skill now. She's already twenty years behind others. Do you want to delay it even more?"
A flash of dissatisfaction appeared in Ethan's eyes, and he pressed his thin lips together.
William didn't back down either. The two of them stood there, eyes blazing!
It seemed like they were about to fight any second.
"Ethan, don't worry. Last time Hayes was at the Retreats for three days and nothing happened. This time will be fine too," Mia said. "William is just anxious and wants Hayes to catch up with others, that's why he's doing this."
Hearing the name 'Hayes,' Ethan felt a flash in his mind, some blurry images appeared and then disappeared, making it impossible for him to grasp the key points.
Ethan thought, is my headache acting up again?
Mia's persuasion slightly calmed Ethan's anger, but he was still very upset and muttered, "My woman should just enjoy life with me. Why work so hard!"
Ethan felt heartbroken.
William sneered, "I heard you're a businessman. You capitalists always have the possibility of going bankrupt. You might be worth a hundred billion dollars now, but the next second you could be in debt for a hundred billion dollars!"
"If Ashley doesn't have a skill, what will she do if something happens to you? Become poor with you?" he added.
Ethan said, "The Yates Group will never go bankrupt, and I will never let that happen. Even if it does, I won't let Ashley suffer."
He snorted, "Where is Ashley? I want to see her."
"You can't see her right now," William said. "When I came back, Ashley mentioned you had a bruise on the back of your head?"
Ethan was still angry that William wouldn't let him see Ashley, but the latter part of the sentence made him pause. He asked, "What's wrong?"
"Ashley asked me to help you with the bruise on the back of your head. Lie down, and I'll give you some therapy."
Ethan was still angry and didn't want William to give him therapy. Mia noticed his mood and persuaded, "Ethan, don't hold a grudge against William. He's doing it for Hayes' sake. William is a skilled doctor. He cured my eyes and almost cured John's dementia."
Ethan looked at John, who nodded vigorously, "It's true. The poison in me is almost gone."
Ethan finally suppressed his annoyance, "Alright."
Ethan asked, "Mia, why do you call Ashley 'Hayes'?"
Mia said, "Because Hayes is her nickname. I've always called her that. Why?"
Ethan frowned, and some blurry images flashed in his mind again.
"I am Hayes. Let's escape quickly!" the girl had said that day.
Ethan's expression turned anxious as he recalled the scene of being kidnapped as a child.
How could it be such a coincidence that he didn't know Ashley's nickname was 'Hayes,' which was so similar to the name of his savior 'Hayes'?
But wasn't that person Ava?
Mia asked, "Ethan, why do you look so pale? What's wrong?"
Ethan shook his head, "My dizziness is acting up again."
William chimed in, "Then what are you waiting for? Lie down, and I'll give you therapy."
Ethan obediently lay down on the cool bed in the living room, feeling a bit uneasy. Seeing William preparing, he asked, "Mia, do you remember where Ashley was kidnapped to when she got separated from you?"
