Chapter 211 Ethan Cooks Personally 1
The doctor was surprised by Ethan's words.
"You found out?"
Ethan, looking serious, said, "Yes."
The doctor sighed. "Mrs. Yates's condition is serious. She asked me to keep it from you."
He handed Ethan the real report. "This is the actual report."
Ethan glanced at it, confused by the medical terms. "What's her illness? Why are her hands shaking so much?"
The doctor explained, "Your wife has essential tremor, a neurodegenerative disorder. It's not Parkinson's, which also involves muscle rigidity and movement issues."
Ethan got anxious.
"But Mrs. Yates's condition hasn't progressed to Parkinson's. Surgery can help with current medical technology."
Ethan felt relieved. "Is the surgery risky?"
"It won't affect her normal life..." The doctor paused. "Mrs. Yates isn't a designer, is she?"
Ethan thought of Ashley's designs: the dress for Kelsey's birthday and the shoes she fixed for the Yates Group.
"If she has surgery, will it affect her design work?"
"Yes. After surgery, she will be able to live a normal life, but extensive hand use for design could cause fatigue and recurrence."
Ethan thought for a moment. "Schedule the surgery. I'll convince her to do it soon."
"Alright, Mr. Yates."
The doctor added, "You two are really loving. She's afraid you'll feel guilty, and you're worried about her suffering."
Ethan stayed silent, thinking about how to convince Ashley.
"Mr. Yates, the surgery is scheduled for next Monday at 2 PM."
"Okay."
With the surgery set, Ethan left the hospital feeling heavy-hearted.
His phone rang. "Hello."
"Mr. Yates, Kelsey's birthday is tomorrow. She gave us a few invitations. Are we going?"
"Yes."
"Alright."
"Prepare a gift."
"Okay, Mr. Yates. You came to Ferndale in a hurry and didn't bring formal wear. Should I arrange custom outfits for you and Mrs. Yates?"
Ethan paused. "No need. We'll handle it ourselves."
"Alright."
After hanging up, Ethan checked the time. It was almost dinner.
He called the apartment maid. "Has Ashley come home?"
"Mr. Yates, Mrs. Yates came home, freshened up, and went to sleep without dinner. Should I wake her?"
"No need. Let her rest, and you all have the night off."
After hanging up, Ethan went to a supermarket. He bought a lot of vegetables, meat, and other items, filling up a cart. He also got some red wine. At the checkout, people thought he was preparing for Christmas early!
By the time he got home, it was already 5 PM.
Ethan took off his suit, unpacked the groceries, and started following a Facebook cooking tutorial.
Ashley, half-asleep, was startled by the noise downstairs. She thought there was a burglar!
When she went downstairs, she smelled something burning. The whole house was filled with white smoke.
"What's going on? Is there a fire?"
