Chapter 263 Mr. Yates' Proposal Scene

Suddenly, the pitch-black room lit up like a Christmas tree, and everything around looked totally different!

June, who had been all green-eyed and ready to give Ashley a piece of her mind, just froze. Ashley felt someone behind her and spun around, spotting June with a knife and fork in her hands.

Ashley's eyes went icy cold as she stared June down.

June's face went pale, and she quickly pretended to grab some dessert from the table with the knife and fork.

"What's happening?" someone yelled.

Ashley got distracted by the commotion and looked over. A waiter was pushing a cart loaded with red roses, filling the whole place with their sweet scent.

That's when Ashley noticed the room had changed. Pink balloons were everywhere, making it look like a scene straight out of a proposal.

Ashley raised an eyebrow.

She muttered, "This looks like one of those cheesy soap operas where the guy pops the question. Is some rich dude about to confess his love?"

Curious, Ashley scanned the room, eager to see what was going down.

She kept muttering, "Why's nothing happening yet?"

"What's the deal? Is it someone's birthday?"

"Looks like a proposal scene..." People were whispering, and Ashley was just as curious, but only as a spectator.

Suddenly, some beautiful music started playing, the kind from the hottest romantic drama right now.

Listening to the tune, Ashley couldn't help but think of all the moments she had with Ethan, and her heart skipped a beat.

Out of nowhere, someone holding flowers walked over, and everyone gasped.

Ashley stood there, dumbstruck, as the person walked towards her. The flowers were blocking his face, so she couldn't see who it was.

Feeling awkward, she stepped aside, thinking she was in the way.

But as she moved, the guy with the flowers changed direction to follow her.

Ashley felt embarrassed and stepped the other way.

This time, the guy didn't let her escape and walked right up to her.

Ashley was stunned, "What are you doing?"

She looked around, noticing everyone staring at her with envious smiles.

The guy suddenly handed her the bouquet, making her jump. Then he lowered the flowers, revealing his face.

Ashley's jaw dropped, her face turning beet red. "Ethan, what the heck are you doing?"

Realizing what was happening, Ashley felt so shy she could barely look up.

She had been enjoying the show, never expecting to be the star of it.

Ashley was a mix of embarrassed and flustered.

Ethan cleared his throat and said seriously, "Ashley, everyone knows we're married, but I never got to propose to you properly!"

He continued, "So today, in front of all these fancy folks, I'm officially proposing to you!"

Ashley's mouth fell open, tears welling up in her eyes. She covered her mouth, afraid she might start bawling.

Ethan suddenly dropped to one knee. "Ashley, in the year we've known each other, we've been through so much. No matter what, we've always had each other's backs. I want to spend the rest of my life with you. Ashley, will you marry me?"

Ethan's words hit Ashley right in the feels. Even though she covered her mouth, she couldn't stop the tears.

Cheers erupted around them.

A passerby said, "Who would've thought Mr. Yates and Mrs. Yates would pull off something so grand and romantic."

"Mrs. Yates, don't hesitate, just say yes to your hubby!" With the crowd egging her on, Ashley's face turned even redder. "Yes, I do!"

It was the reply everyone had guessed.

Hearing her say yes, Ethan grinned. Already handsome, his charming smile under the spotlight was almost blinding. "Midnight Bloom is my proposal gift to you."

"Honey, thank you. I love it." Ashley was genuinely happy and felt super blessed.

Unfortunately, the gift she had for Ethan was back at the Yates villa. She felt a bit bummed she couldn't give it to him right then.

The crowd started chanting, "Kiss, kiss, kiss!"

Ashley looked down, embarrassed, and Ethan pulled her in for a light kiss on the lips.

The crowd was moved to tears.

"Everyone, Mrs. Yates and I will have a wedding ceremony later, and invitations will be sent to your homes. Sorry for the disturbance tonight!" Ethan held Ashley's hand, and they both bowed.

The proposal party was a total hit, and everyone got to witness a beautiful, romantic love story.

After leaving the venue, Ethan pulled Ashley into the car. "Honey, where to?"

Ashley didn't say a word, just passionately hugged Ethan's neck and kissed him.
