Chapter 332 Hold a Press Conference Immediately
Ashley was scrolling through the internet when she stumbled upon the shocking news about Ethan having a secret kid. She remembered Ethan saying some weird stuff last night, trying to get her to trust him. It hit her that Ethan probably knew this was coming.
Seeing all the fake evidence, Ashley felt uneasy. It wasn't that she didn't trust Ethan, but these rumors were really getting under her skin, and she felt bad for Ethan being dragged into this mess.
Just as she was lost in thought, her phone rang. It was Landon.
Ashley picked up, "Landon?"
Landon's voice was cautious, "Ashley, have you seen the stuff online?"
"Yeah, I saw it," Ashley replied.
Landon tried to comfort her, "Ashley, don't be upset. Sometimes guys mess up. Just forgive Ethan, and he won't do it again."
Ashley chuckled, "Landon, I trust Ethan. I think all that stuff online is just nonsense."
There was a pause before Landon spoke again, "You and Ethan have such a strong relationship. It makes me feel like an idiot. By the way, Liam is back. Why haven't Mom and Dad returned?"
Ashley explained, "We had to come back to Aurora for something. Mom and Dad are with William, and they probably won't be back for another couple of weeks."
"Alright, come back for lunch."
"Sure thing."
They hung up, and Landon stared at his phone, looking a bit lost.
Landon couldn't help but envy Ashley. She had always been their parents' favorite and now had a husband who loved her unconditionally.
Thinking about Felicity, Landon felt a chill. Ever since he agreed to take responsibility for Felicity's child, she had moved into the White Mansion and acted like she owned the place, always questioning his whereabouts!
Frustrated, Landon rubbed his temples. Samantha's stubborn face suddenly flashed in his mind.
His phone rang again. It was Felicity.
Annoyed, Landon turned off his phone and tossed it aside, diving back into his work.
Felicity stared at her phone, furious. "Landon, how dare you hang up on me! Are you seeing someone else?"
Raging, Felicity spotted Bolt out of the corner of her eye. She grabbed something from the table and hurled it at him!
Bolt jumped in fright but was quickly caught by Felicity, who then treated him harshly.
At the Yates Group
In the conference room, someone asked, "Why isn't Mr. Yates here yet? Is he avoiding today's issues?"
"Because of Mr. Yates' indiscretions, the Yates Group's stock price has plummeted. We strongly recommend that Ethan be removed from his position as CEO," others suggested forcefully.
Ethan walked into the conference room just as the shareholders were getting heated.
He smirked, "You think you can replace me?"
His voice was icy and authoritative, instantly shutting everyone up.
The room went dead silent as everyone exchanged nervous glances, clearly rattled by Ethan's sudden entrance.
But one brave soul spoke up, "Mr. Yates, your personal issues have caused a lot of trouble for the Yates Group. We have every right to propose your replacement as CEO!"
Another chimed in, "Yeah, your wife hasn't had a child, and you're keeping a mistress. It's wrecking the Yates Group's reputation. You should step down."
Ethan laughed coldly, taking his seat at the head of the table, looking completely unbothered. "The stock drop is just because some idiots are following the crowd. They'll regret it soon enough."
He leaned back, "As for my personal life, I'll handle it. But I'm curious, who do you think should take over as CEO after I resign?" His presence was so intense, it felt like the room's temperature dropped.
The room went silent again.
Seeing everyone avoiding eye contact, Ethan sneered, "If you can't handle it, don't stir the pot. Anyone who disrespects me again, I'll buy out your shares and kick you out!"
His warning was clear.
"Nick!"
"Yes, Mr. Yates," Nick responded.
"Get the PR department to set up a press conference immediately," Ethan ordered.
"Right away, Mr. Yates."
Soon, news broke that Ethan was holding a press conference to address the mistress rumors, and it quickly went viral.
Ashley saw the news too.
It was clear Ethan was ready to fight back.
With her husband taking the lead, there was no way she was backing down. After thinking it over, Ashley decided to help Ethan.
The key players were Yara and Nora, so Ashley knew she had to talk to Yara.
Yara peeked through the peephole and saw Ashley outside. She opened the door, and Ashley was shocked by Yara's appearance.
"Yara, what happened to you?" she asked, concerned.
Yara's hair was a mess, her face had finger marks, and there were bruises at the corners of her mouth—clear signs of a beating.
Yara's eyes were red as she invited Ashley in, "Mrs. Yates, come in and sit."
Once they were seated, Ashley got straight to the point, "Yara, I trust Ethan about Nora. I believe him when he says he never touched you. So, why did you deceive us?"
