Chapter 329 Finding the Key During Interrogation
Ethan and Ashley got back to the Yates Mansion. After dinner, Ethan took Ashley's hand and led her to the master bedroom.
"Honey, you're pregnant. You gotta be careful. The bathroom floor is slippery, and you might fall. How about I help you with your washing up from now on?" Ethan suggested.
Ashley blushed, "I'm not that delicate. If you have things to do, go ahead. I'll wash up and get ready for bed."
Ethan still wasn't convinced, "Are you sure you don't need my help?"
Ashley looked shy, "Who wants someone else to help them wash up? I can do it. Go do your work."
"Alright then." Ethan looked a bit regretful but thoughtfully found Ashley's pajamas and reminded her, "Be careful."
"Don't worry." Ashley pouted. "Are you worried about me or the babies?"
Ethan hugged Ashley, "You are all my darlings. Of course, I care about all of you. But if I had to say who I care about the most, it would definitely be you."
Listening to Ethan's sweet words, Ashley quickly calmed down.
"Alright, I'm going to wash up," she said.
Ethan nodded, his eyes flashing, "I'll have the maid stand by the door. If you need anything, just call her. I have some work to handle at the office."
"Okay, go ahead."
Ethan nodded and watched her enter the bathroom, a look of guilt appearing on his face.
Ethan had lied to his wife again!
Ethan's work was already done, and this time he was going out to deal with Yara's matter!
Half an hour later
Ethan knocked on Yara's door.
Yara's voice came from inside, "Who is it?"
Yara opened the door and saw Ethan standing outside with a cold expression. Her face immediately showed a look of fear. Ethan took in Yara's emotions, thinking she was a deceitful woman full of lies, and sneered disdainfully.
Yara was shocked, "Mr. Yates, why are you here?"
Yara's eyes flickered with panic as she blocked the doorway, as if she didn't want Ethan to come in.
Ethan took a document from his briefcase and coldly threw it over, his voice devoid of warmth, "I'm here to talk about Nora."
Yara looked down and asked, "Is this the new paternity test?"
Ethan replied, "Yes!"
Yara picked up the report, her expression even more panicked. When she saw the results, her mouth opened in shock, "How could this be?"
Ethan didn't want to continue talking at the door. He extended his arm, pushed open the door, and said coldly, "I don't believe the results. I need to do another test with Nora. Please bring her out!"
As the door opened, Ethan's peripheral vision caught sight of a pair of men's shoes by the entrance. He raised an eyebrow and looked at Yara with disdain.
Yara noticed Ethan's expression and felt conflicted.
From the master bedroom, a man's voice called out, "Who's at the door?"
Yara panicked and tried to push Ethan out, "Mr. Yates, I'll explain this to you later. Please leave for now. It's not convenient today!"
Ethan frowned. The man's voice sounded very familiar to him.
How dare she push Ethan out?
Ethan felt something was off. Ignoring Yara's resistance, he barged into her home.
Yara screamed, "Mr. Yates! How can you trespass like this!"
Ethan sneered, "Yara, I have no grudge against you. Why are you framing me? We've never had any relationship, yet you have a man hidden in your house. You're a liar! Are you trying to use Nora to get close to the Yates family?"
"You're so selfish. Having a mother like you is a lifelong shame for Nora!" he added.
Yara's face turned red with anger, "This is a misunderstanding. I'll explain it to you. Please leave!"
Ethan ignored Yara and turned to knock on the master bedroom door. Seeing this, Yara hurried to stop him, but Ethan kicked the door twice and shouted, "If you're a man, come out!"
After a moment, the person inside opened the door.
Ethan initially wanted to punch the person, thinking they had conspired to slander him.
However, when the door opened, Ethan was shocked to see the man inside.
Ethan exclaimed, "Liam?"
Liam was wearing a bathrobe, his hair still wet, looking like he had just taken a shower.
Ethan questioned, "What are you doing here? What's your relationship with Yara?"
Liam was surprised to see Ethan too, and Ethan's question left him at a loss for words.
Liam stammered, but he couldn't complete a sentence.
Yara, feeling ashamed, covered her face and bit her lip, "Mr. Yates, I have no relationship with Liam. There was an event at Nora's school today, and Mr. White came to help. I invited him for dinner, and he accidentally got his clothes dirty, so he's here."
Hearing this, Liam gave Yara a complex look, his eyes filled with a mix of anger and sadness. Yara, with her head down, didn't notice Liam's emotions.
Ethan squinted, his eyes darting between Liam and Yara. He felt something was definitely going on between them!
Awoken by the commotion, Nora yawned and said, "Mr. Yates, why are you here? Mr. White is still here. I thought you went home. Are you planning to stay at my home again?"
