Chapter 6 Overheard
"Grandpa, I'll reward her for her kindness," Ethan said, shooting Ashley a cold look.
Michael chimed in, "That's not enough to express my gratitude. Young lady, leave your contact info. I'll treat you to a meal tomorrow."
Ashley didn't want any ties with Ethan, but she couldn't refuse the kind offer. "Thank you, Sir. Here's my number. I have to go now."
"Alright, see you tomorrow."
With that, she got up and left.
"Grandpa, you rest here. I need to step out for a bit."
Just as Ethan was about to find Ashley to settle the score, Michael seemed to know what he was up to and stopped him. "Hold on, are you going to scare her again?"
"Grandpa?" Ethan looked confused.
"Hmph, I heard everything you said just now," Michael said, "You rascal, how can you bully a girl?"
Ethan sighed. "Grandpa, she's not a simple woman. Until I figure out why she's approaching us, you should avoid any contact with her."
Michael replied, "I don't care what her intentions are. Since you've slept with her, you shouldn't mistreat her. You've been with Ava for three years with no progress. If she gets pregnant, you must bring her home so I can have a great-grandchild sooner."
"Grandpa!" Ethan said helplessly, "I can't marry a woman I don't love."
Michael commanded, "As long as you call me Grandpa, you have to follow my arrangements. I'll handle this matter."
Ethan's face turned grim. They hadn't used protection last night, but he would never allow her to carry his child.
"Grandpa, you're not feeling well. You should rest more."
After settling Michael, Ethan contacted his assistant to find Ashley and make her take a morning-after pill.
As Ashley walked out of the hospital, a van suddenly stopped in front of her. Two men quickly jumped out and dragged her into the van.
"Hey, what are you doing? Kidnapping?"
"Ms. Wilson, please stay calm. The boss asked me to give you this medicine. Please cooperate."
A man in a suit sat beside her and took out a box of morning-after pills.
Ashley said, "Your boss is Ethan?"
"Yes!"
"Alright."
With that, Ashley took the pill in front of the assistant. Seeing her cooperation, the assistant let her go.
Ashley, having nowhere to go, checked into a hotel. After washing up, she lay down to rest when her phone suddenly rang.
"Hello, Sienna, what's up?"
"Ashley, I heard about what happened lately. Why don't you come stay at my place? My husband is on a business trip."
Sienna was Ashley's close friend.
Ashley said, "No, I'm staying at a hotel for now. If you have time tomorrow, come with me to find me a house."
Sienna said, "Alright, the Wilson family will regret treating you like this."
Ashley let out a cold laugh. She was completely disappointed in the Wilson family and no longer cared about them.
"Alright, I'm tired. I'll hang up now."
"Bye-bye."
Ashley thought about everything that had happened today. If she wasn't the Wilson family's daughter, then whose daughter was she? Where were her biological parents?
Ugh, her waist hurt!
Thinking of Ethan, that acid-tongued man, made Ashley angry. Luckily, she had taken the morning-after pill. She hoped they would never cross paths again...
Hospital
The assistant reported, "Mr. Yates, as you expected, Ethan arranged for someone to give Ashley the morning-after pill. They don't know that we replaced all the morning-after pills in the pharmacy with vitamins. After 72 hours, the likelihood of Ashley getting pregnant is very high."
"Send someone to protect that girl in secret. Make sure nothing happens to her. She might be carrying Ethan's child."
