Chapter 254 PDA
Just when everyone was scratching their heads, trying to figure out what the heck was going on inside the café, the door suddenly swung open.
The cops around perked up, guns aimed at the entrance. But guess what? Out walked Ashley.
"Babe!" Ethan shouted, sprinting over, while the cops lowered their weapons.
"You good? Everything cool?" Ethan asked, gripping her shoulders and giving her the once-over.
Ashley was a mess, covered in dust with her face smeared with something black, looking like a little soot-covered kitten.
She blinked her big eyes, her dark pupils twinkling like stars.
"Babe, I'm fine. I heard what that jerk was saying and got so pissed. He was twisting the truth. I couldn't take it, so I came back and gave him a good whupping!" Ashley said.
"Came back?" Ethan raised an eyebrow, catching that key word.
"Yeah, we slipped out when he wasn't looking, then I crawled back and beat him up!" Ashley grinned.
The crowd around them facepalmed at Ashley's words.
"Where'd you crawl back from?" Ethan asked, confused.
"The ventilation duct!" Ashley replied.
She really did that?
Ethan couldn't help but be both amused and impressed by her move.
The cops rushed into the café, nabbed Jimmy, and when they dragged him out, the crowd gasped.
Oh my God!
Jimmy, who looked all put-together a moment ago, now had a face swollen like a pig's head!
Ashley must've really laid into him!
Seeing this, Ethan raised an eyebrow, looking pretty intrigued.
Ashley puffed up with pride, "How about that? Awesome, right? I went straight for his face. Since he's so cheeky, I figured I'd mess it up for him!"
Ethan took her hand gently, "Next time, don't do that. It'll just dirty your hands."
Ashley smiled.
Ethan went on, "Your hand's still not fully healed. What if something unexpected happened?"
Ethan's deep, loving eyes and gentle words made the onlookers swoon, feeling overwhelmed by the PDA.
Ashley blushed and said, "You wouldn't believe it, I used a stick to hit him!"
No wonder she turned his face into a pig's head!
Ethan couldn't help but grin, "Nice job!"
To everyone else, Ethan was always this cold, stern guy. No matter the interview, he was never seen smiling.
But right now, Ethan was all smiles, looking like a totally different guy from his usual icy self during interviews.
The crowd couldn't help but gush, "Mr. Yates and Mrs. Yates are so adorable."
Someone even chimed in, "Mr. Yates is the dream guy. I hope I can find someone like him..."
Ethan and Ashley heard the chatter and just grinned.
"By the way, where's Nora?" Ethan asked, a bit worried.
"Over there," Ashley pointed to a corner where Liam was holding Nora's hand. When they saw Ethan and Ashley looking their way, they waved.
Ethan, sounding a bit scolding, said, "From now on, I want you to have a few bodyguards with you when you go out. I almost lost you, and you nearly got into trouble."
Ashley pouted, "That'd be so weird. Today was just a fluke. This won't happen again. No bodyguards for me."
The thought of bodyguards tailing her made Ashley uncomfortable, so she shot down Ethan's idea.
Ethan snorted and said firmly, "No way."
As they were hashing this out, the cops were dragging Jimmy past them. A cold glint flashed in Jimmy's eyes.
The next second, when no one was looking, he suddenly lunged at Ashley!
He yelled, "Ethan, don't get too full of yourself!"
With all his might, he rammed into Ashley. She screamed, unable to dodge, and felt herself getting knocked away.
Ethan shouted in panic, "Babe!"
"Ashley!" Liam yelled.
"Ms. Wilson!"
In a flash, several people rushed over!
Jimmy's hands were cuffed behind his back, but somehow he had a knife. Just as he knocked Ashley down, he tried to stab her.
But at the last second, Ethan rushed over, hugging Ashley, trying to shield her with his body.
At the same time, Liam tackled Jimmy, giving him a good beating.
Nora ran over, looking scared, "Liam, catch this bad guy!"
Just as she said that, Jimmy broke free from Liam, who fell to the ground. Jimmy charged again, and Nora's face went pale with fear. "Ashley, Ethan, watch out..."
Saying this, her small body hugged Ashley and Ethan tightly.
Just as Jimmy's knife was about to strike Ethan and Ashley, a gunshot rang out, making everyone's ears ring. The cops had fired, hitting Jimmy right in the head.
Jimmy's body dropped heavily.
But the knife in his hand accidentally cut Ashley's and Nora's arms.
