Chapter 351 When Husband and Wife Are of One Mind, Their Strength Can Cut Through Metal
"Honey, what do you want to do?" Ethan inquired.
Ashley responded, "We don't know if Annie and George are in cahoots, nor do we know if George is eyeing the Yates family's assets. If these suspicions are intertwined, we might as well play along with their plan. Maybe we can find out the truth!"
Ethan smiled approvingly at Ashley and gave her a thumbs-up gesture, praising, "You're so smart, honey. Next, we'll pretend to have a fight and act like we're getting a divorce. That way, they'll let their guard down. Meanwhile, I'll have someone investigate them secretly. I bet they'll slip up."
"Yes, let's do that!" Ashley concurred enthusiastically.
Ashley and Ethan high-fived, both grinning slyly.
Suddenly, Ethan felt dizzy and clutched his head, groaning, "Honey, my head hurts."
Ashley quickly grabbed a warm towel and applied it to Ethan's head. "Honey, you hurt your head. Maybe you should go to the hospital for a check-up. Even if there's no visible wounds, what if there's internal damage?"
Ethan felt dizzy and his chest ached. He sought comfort in Ashley's embrace. "I don't want to go to the hospital. I just want you to hold me. I'll feel better if you hold me." he murmured softly.
Nuzzling against Ashley affectionately, Ethan's actions elicited a chuckle from her. But when she noticedMichael and Katherine 's presence, her face turned red.
Michael and Katherine exchanged glances, suddenly feeling like they were intruding on a private moment.
Katherine remarked to Michael, "Michael, I haven't had breakfast yet. I'm hungry."
Michael responded promptly, "I'll take you to the restaurant."
The elderly couple quickly left.
Ashley's face turned even redder as she pushed Ethan away. "Get up, you're embarrassing me."
"No way," Ethan said in a whining tone. "You misunderstood me today, and I'm really hurt. If you don't make it up to me, I'm not getting up." he protested.
"You're so unreasonable!" Ashley blamed.
Ashley couldn't do anything about Ethan. Reflecting on the morning incident, she realized she hadn't been calm. But any woman in her situation would have felt the same.
Ashley comforted him, "Honey, get up. What are you doing?"
She slapped his wandering hands away as Ethan started getting handsy in the living room.
"I'm really mad right now. Only a kiss will make me feel better." Ethan smirked mischievously.

Ashley was instantly overwhelmed by Ethan's affection.
Neither of them had breakfast that morning; they just stayed in the room together.
Ava sat in a room with two burly bodyguards. Despite their attempts to intimidate her, she remained silent, refusing to utter a word.
One of the bodyguards threatened her with a whip, "Still not talking? If you don't, we'll use the whip!" he threatened.
Ava sneered, "This is a law-abiding society. Private punishment is illegal. Do you want to go to jail?"
"You!" The bodyguard was at a loss with Ava.
There was a knock on the door. The bodyguard looked through the peephole and saw Ashley. He opened the door, "Mrs. Yates, you're here?"
Hearing this, Ava's eyes flashed.
"I'm here to talk to Annie." Ashley entered the room, her eyes red as if she had been crying a lot. Ava smirked.
Ava inquired, "Mrs. Yates, what do you want to say?"
Ashley cast a cold glance at Ava and inquired, "Annie, Ethan said he didn't have a relationship with you. Tell me clearly, did you two do anything last night?"
Ava arched an eyebrow, sensing Ashley's skepticism towards Ethan's explanation, which fell right into Ava's scheme.
Ava remarked nonchalantly, "A man and a woman alone in a room, what do you think happened? Of course, we had sex. Ethan is so impulsive, he even bullied his cousin's girlfriend. If George finds out, how will Ethan explain himself?"
Ashley, looking disbelieving, retorted, "Annie, you're lying!"
"How could I be?" Ava deliberately pulled down her clothes, revealing her shoulders and chest, which were covered in red marks. They looked like signs of mistreatment, but they were actually self-inflicted.
"Mrs. Yates, these are the marks Ethan left. Do you still not believe he bullied me?" she portrayed herself convincingly.
She was quite the actress.
Enraged, Ashley accused, "You're shameless."
Ashley clenched her fists, her face full of anger. "Ethan, how dare you betray me? I must divorce you."
With that declaration, Ashley turned and left. As the door closed, everyone had their own schemes.
Adjusting her appearance, Ashley mutteredsaid, "If I don't get an acting award for this, it would be a shame. Now, let's wait for them to slip up!"
