Chapter 326 The Baby is Seven Weeks Old
Ashley's face shifted, "Liam!"
She was pretty serious because not being able to get pregnant was like a thorn in her side, making her super uncomfortable.
Liam looked apologetic, "Ashley, I'm sorry, I didn't mean to bring up something sad."
Ashley sighed, her eyes a bit melancholic, "Liam, it's okay."
The atmosphere got a bit awkward.
William suddenly walked in and said, "Liam's right, you have a special glow about you lately!"
Ashley said helplessly, "William, you know my situation, how could I possibly be pregnant!"
William asked, "When was your last period?"
Ashley thought for a moment, "I haven't noticed, maybe a month or two ago."
She figured it was just a hormonal imbalance and didn't pay much attention.
"Come here, let me check you out!" William said.
With a nervous heart, Ashley sat down and extended her hand for William to diagnose. Liam also came over, looking curious, "Mr. Lynch, is Ashley really pregnant?"
William checked Ashley with a serious expression, and after about ten minutes, he concluded, "Ashley, pack your things in the next few days and go to the city for a comprehensive check-up."
Seeing William's serious face, the siblings exchanged glances. Ashley stammered, "What's wrong?"
William said, "Try diagnosing yourself."
Upon hearing this, Ashley checked herself, and after a few minutes, her eyes widened in surprise or joy, "I am pregnant."
"Oh my God!" Ashley was so shocked she almost bit her tongue, "I'm actually pregnant!"
This was amazing news.
Liam looked delighted, "Really, Ashley, you're really pregnant? I can be an uncle!"
Liam's voice was so loud it startled Mia inside the room. Mia walked out, holding onto the wall, "Liam, what did you say, Ashley is pregnant?"
"Yes, Mom, let me help you, be careful!" Liam stepped forward to support Mia.
Ashley was still in shock, her gentle fingers caressing her lower abdomen, where a new life was growing. It was a child of hers and Ethan's!
Ashley was extremely excited but also very puzzled, "But I drank the concoction that prevents pregnancy, I shouldn't be able to get pregnant, how could this happen?"
Mia held Ashley's hand and said, "Ashley, congratulations on becoming a mother."
She continued, "No matter how it happened, having a child is a blessing. You should go to the hospital for a check-up to see how far along you are. They say you need to be extra careful in the first trimester, and it's best to wait until after the first three months to share the news."
Ashley nodded heavily, "Mom, it's too late today, I'll go to town for a check-up tomorrow."
"Good, that's awesome. If Ethan finds out, he'll be over the moon!" Mia smiled.
Ashley caressed her belly and thought of Ethan, her face lighting up with happiness. If Ethan knew he was going to be a dad, he'd be thrilled!
Right now, though, Ashley felt a bit frustrated.
There was no signal in the countryside, so she couldn't share the good news with Ethan right away. But she figured she could call him when she went to town for the check-up tomorrow.
The next day
Early in the morning, Liam took Ashley, and they drove to town. Ever since they found out Ashley was pregnant, the whole family was super careful, worried she might get hurt.
"Ashley, the road in the countryside is so bumpy. Are you sure you'll be okay?" Liam was really worried, driving extra cautiously, afraid the bumps might harm his future niece or nephew.
Ashley said, "Liam, I'm not that fragile. Remember yesterday, we took the same car to town, and nothing happened!"
Liam nodded, "That's true. Alright, let's be careful and get going."
"Okay."
The vehicle started, and it took them more than two hours to reach the maternity hospital in town.
After a series of blood tests, the doctor handed the result sheet to Ashley, "Ms. White, you are seven weeks pregnant, and it's twins. Remember to come for regular check-ups."
"Thank you." The moment she got the pregnancy report, Ashley's hands were trembling, her eyes filled with tears. She looked at the test results, and tears fell onto the report.
"Ashley, why are you crying?" Seeing Ashley cry, Liam was at a loss.
Ashley wiped her tears with the back of her hand and smiled, "Liam, I'm just so happy. I thought I'd never be a mother, but I didn't realize I'd been pregnant for so long without knowing!"
Ashley was pregnant with twins this time. Thinking of her previous children, she felt a pang of heartbreak. For a moment, it felt as if those two children had come back to her.
"Ashley, quickly tell Ethan the good news," Liam suggested.
Ashley nodded and called Ethan from the hospital corridor.
At that moment, Ethan had been working overtime for a day and a night, too busy to even eat. His phone was left on the couch, covered by a pillow, causing him to miss Ashley's call.
Ashley looked regretful, "Ethan didn't answer, he must be busy!"
"It's okay, let's go back and pack our things. I'll go with you back to Aurora as soon as possible. Once we're there, you can tell Ethan. Ashley, you've got to take good care of yourself this time!"
Ashley nodded heavily. This time, she wouldn't let anything happen to her children!
