Chapter 278 Ashley, you Know too Much
Facing the doc's skeptical look, Ivy felt all kinds of jittery inside, but she played it cool and said, "She's my bestie. I'm here to see her."
"Bullshit, this is the ICU. No outsiders allowed. Scram!" the doc snapped.
"Alright, alright, I'm leaving."
Ivy hobbled out with her crutch. At the door, she shot a glance at the unconscious Doris, a flash of murderous intent in her eyes, and muttered, "Lucky you!"
A few steps later, she spotted someone lurking in the corner. Squinting, she realized it was Ashley!
"Ashley, what the hell are you doing here?" Ivy blurted out, her eyes darting nervously. 'Did Ashley see what I just did?'
Ashley’s gaze was icy. "Ivy, we need to talk."
"Fine, let's talk," Ivy said, trying to sound casual.
They headed to the rooftop, where it was just the two of them. The wind whipped Ashley's hair around.
Ashley demanded, "Ivy, why did you do that?"
Ivy's eyes flickered. "I don't know what you're talking about."
"I saw what you did to Ms. Jones!" Ashley's voice was cold as ice. "You're a cruel piece of work. You're ruthless to Ms. Jones, and you do the same to Ethan!"
Ivy shot back, "What the hell are you talking about? Ethan's my son. Why would I be cruel to him? Sure, I might be tough on him sometimes, but it's for his own good!"
Ashley's voice was filled with anger. "For his own good? You know damn well how amazing Ethan is. If it weren't for his nightmares last night, I wouldn't have known you were abusing him!"
Ashley's voice was cold and furious. "Tell me, besides pricking him with needles, what other sick things have you done to him?"
Ivy wanted to argue, but Ashley's tone made it clear Ethan had spilled the beans in his nightmares.
Ivy laughed maniacally. "So what if I pricked him with needles? And that's not all, I locked him in a dark room with rats, centipedes, and snakes! I knew he was allergic to seafood, but I made him eat it anyway. Watching him suffer was pure joy!"
Ashley was livid, furious at how Ivy treated Ethan, and heartbroken over Ethan's childhood. "How could you do that to him?"
Ivy shrugged. "So what? He was disobedient. As his mother, it's my job to discipline him!"
Ashley’s voice was icy. "You are not his mother! You have no blood relation to him. What you've done is a crime! Ivy, I will expose you and make you pay!"
Ivy was stunned, her eyes narrowing with growing murderous intent.
Ivy's gaze turned cold and sinister. "You want to expose me? What else do you know?"
Ashley's eyes flickered. "I know everything!"
Of course, she was bluffing. Ivy was cunning, and there might be more secrets.
Ivy's eyes flickered, her expression strange. After a moment, she laughed maniacally. "So, you know about Doris and Ethan?"
A flash of confusion crossed Ashley's eyes, but she quickly recovered and bluffed, "Yeah, I know."
She only knew Ivy wasn't Ethan's mom, but she hadn't thought about Doris and Ethan. Could they be...
While Ashley was deep in thought, Ivy laughed maniacally. "I've kept this secret for over thirty years, but you found out. Ashley, so what if you know? I won't let you tell Ethan the truth!"
A flash of viciousness appeared in Ivy's eyes.
Ashley took two steps back, wary. "What are you gonna do?"
Ivy's voice was cold. "What am I gonna do? Only the dead can keep secrets!"
She pulled out a small scalpel and approached Ashley, her voice cold and evil. "You're at death's door, so I might as well tell you the truth. Yeah, I'm not Ethan's real mom. That fool's real mom is that bitch Doris!"
Ashley's pupils dilated.
No wonder...
At the moment of the car accident, Doris could have stood by, but she risked her life to save Ethan!
It turned out, even without knowing their true connection, there was always an undeniable bond between them. So, Doris saving Ethan was more than just a heroic act—it was an instinctive response, a deep-seated urge to protect.
Suddenly, Ivy raised the knife, her eyes fierce. "Ashley, you know too much. Time to die!"
