Chapter 189 The Mighty and Dominant Negotiation
Kelsey could feel Ethan's anger. She knew she hadn't done anything worng, but his expression made her feel guilty.
Ethan's voice was cold. "Your Majesty, you're the Queen of Ferndale. If your earlier remarks get out, do you think the public will still trust and admire you?" He held up a voice recorder.
Kelsey turned red with anger. "You... You recorded me?"
"You threatened me, so why wouldn't I record you?" Ethan sneered, playing with the recorder like a seasoned king.
"You have two choices: negotiate with me properly or I'll release the recording."
Kelsey sneered back. "This is my territory. You think you can threaten me and walk out alive? Guards, take the recorder!"
The guards moved, but Ethan stopped them with a deadly glare. "Wait!"
Ethan smiled wickedly. "Your Majesty, the files on this recorder will automatically upload to my email. If anything happens to me, my assistant will expose them. Even if I die, your words and actions will be revealed! What do you think your citizens will do then?"
The room grew tense. Everyone was shocked by Ethan's move.
"Well done!"
"No wonder he's a big-shot businessman; he's always got a trick up his sleeve!"
Kelsey laughed angrily. She thought he was easy to manipulate, but he had a hidden card.
Realizing the risk, Kelsey changed her tone. "Mr. Yates, please sit down. Let's talk seriously."
She gestured for him to sit, her tone surprisingly polite. The officers present were all shocked by Ethan's performance.
Ethan found a seat, and everyone sat down to discuss the follow-up matters.
Kelsey said, "Mr. Yates, if ten times the contract amount is too much, we can negotiate, but at least eight times!"
Ethan chuckled, sending chills down everyone's spines.
Kelsey looked puzzled. "What are you laughing at?"
"Your Majesty, our investigators found favorable evidence about the damaged goods."
A glimmer of light flashed in Kelsey's eyes, which Ethan noticed.
"We shipped on time, but the problem happened during transportation. The shipping company is responsible, not the Yates Group."
Kelsey stood up angrily. "I don't care who's responsible. Everyone must be punished!"
She sounded more like a rogue than an empress.
"In that case, Your Majesty, look at these photos!" Ethan threw a few photos on the table.
Kelsey's face changed instantly. The photos showed her by the seaside, with someone handing money to a few people.
The others were shocked. "I recognize this person; he's from our customs staff. Why is he dealing with Her Majesty?"
"Your Majesty, what's going on? Explain!"
"Ferndale's laws are strict against corruption. You've been fighting it for years, yet you're involved. How can we trust you?"
The room was filled with doubt, making Kelsey panic. She looked at Ethan angrily.
Ethan crossed his arms, raised an eyebrow, and looked like he was enjoying the show.
Kelsey broke out in a cold sweat. "You misunderstand; I was just enjoying the sea breeze. These photos prove nothing. Corruption and bribery? Baseless accusations!"
"Mr. Yates, slandering someone is illegal! Think carefully before you speak!"
Ethan sneered, "I didn't say anything; it's just speculation... Your Majesty, whether the responsibility lies with the Yates Group or the shipping company, we'll see it through since we've taken your order! Give me three days, and I'll compensate you with a pair of shoes that will amaze you even more!"
