Chapter 275 Honey, If You Want to Cry, Just Let it out

Ethan couldn't shake Ivy's nasty, sarcastic words from his head. Every time he thought about them, it felt like his brain was gonna explode. He rubbed his temples, looking like he was in serious pain.

Out of nowhere, Ethan slammed his fist into the wall. The impact was so hard the whole wall shook, and his hand started bleeding.

"Honey!" Ashley cried out, rushing to hug him, her face full of worry.

Her voice cracked, "I know you're hurting. If you need to cry, just let it out. I'm right here with you!"

Ethan turned and hugged her tight, burying his face in her neck. His eyes were wet with tears, and he looked like he was in agony.

When Ivy had been spewing her venom, Ethan had acted all cool, but inside, it felt like his heart was being shredded into a million pieces.

"They say a mom's supposed to be the best person in the world. Other people's moms treat their kids like gold, scared they'll get hurt," Ethan said, his voice full of pain. "But my mom? Whenever she's pissed, she takes it out on me. She used to hit me and yell at me when I was a kid. As I got older, she just insulted me, put me down, and messed with my life. Sometimes I wonder if she's really my mom!"

Ashley felt a deep sadness for him. Who would've thought the strong, proud Ethan had been treated so unfairly?

She hugged him tighter, gently stroking his back, trying to calm him down. "Honey, don't be sad. From now on, I'll always be by your side," she whispered.

No matter how many comforting words she said, it felt like it wasn't enough.

Ashley stood up, holding his bloody hand, and said with concern, "Honey, let's take care of your hand first, okay?"

Ethan looked down and nodded, "Okay."

Ashley went to get the first aid kit. She remembered something Ivy had said before being chased by the dog. "Felicity is pregnant." A bad feeling crept over her.

As she treated Ethan's wound, he stayed silent and downcast. The iodine stung, but he just kept his head down, his face pale, not making a sound.

Ashley knew he was hurting, so she was extra gentle. She applied the medicine and bandaged his hand.

"Honey, no matter what happens, even if you're mad, don't hurt yourself, okay?" Ashley said softly.

Ethan just kept his head down, silent.

"It's getting late. How about we go to bed?" Ashley suggested.

Ethan agreed, letting her lead him to the bedroom.

Once there, Ashley turned to get his pajamas. Suddenly, Ethan, still emotional, hugged her tightly, his voice choked, "Honey, don't go."

"I'm not going anywhere. Just getting your pajamas," Ashley reassured him, kissing his cheek. She led him to the bed and said, "Be good and wait here for me. I'll be right back."

Ethan nodded obediently, like a child.

Ashley sniffled, holding back tears, and went to get his pajamas.

They changed, washed up, and lay down to rest.

Ethan was unusually quiet that night. He wasn't the strong, proud Ethan anymore; he was a wounded child, craving comfort.

That night, they just held each other. Ethan showed his most vulnerable side to Ashley.

After a long time, Ethan finally fell asleep, his breathing even.

Watching him sleep, Ashley touched his handsome face, feeling nothing but heartache. How many similar things had he endured growing up in the Yates family? How did he survive it all?

Ashley felt immense pain, gently kissing his forehead.

Ethan frowned in his sleep, seemingly troubled by a nightmare. Ashley reached out to touch his brow.

"You're asleep, but still sad?" she murmured.

Ethan mumbled in his sleep, "Mom... stop pricking me... the needle hurts so much."

Hearing this, Ashley covered her mouth, crying silently.

She hugged him tightly, comforting him, "It's okay, don't be afraid. No one will prick you. I'll always be by your side, loving you."

Ivy was brutal, worse than a beast, pricking him with needles!

In that moment, Ashley felt a strong hatred for Ivy. She had left a lasting scar on Ethan's heart, and Ashley decided to help him settle this score.

After comforting Ethan and seeing his brow relax, a sign he was no longer trapped in a nightmare, Ashley rose and stepped onto the balcony, her mind swirling with thoughts.

Ivy's various evil deeds made Ashley suspect she wasn't Ethan's real mom.

Thinking this, she called Pauline, "Pauline, I need you and May to investigate something for me."
