Chapter 210 Rehabilitation Training

"Prisoner 0988, you have a visitor!"

Ava, watching the news with a cold stare, heard the warden's voice and was confused. She was an orphan, and since being locked up, no one had ever visited her. Who could it be?

Shackled, Ava was led to a separate visitation room. Inside was a man in a black suit and large sunglasses, vaguely resembling Ethan.

"Who are you?"

"Ava, sit down. Let's talk."

She didn't recognize him but sat down cautiously.

"I don't know you. What do you want?"

The man smirked. "I'm A. You don't need to know more. Just answer one question."

Ava looked puzzled.

"Do you want to get out?"

Ava was shocked, eyes wide. She nervously glanced around. "What are you talking about? I've got ten years. How could I get out?"

This guy seemed dangerous. Was he suggesting an escape? Her heart raced.

"Just answer. Do you want to get out?"

Ava's eyes widened. Yes! She desperately wanted out. But how?

Seeing her sadness, the man said confidently, "Help me with one thing, and you'll be free."

Ava trembled. "What do you want me to do?"

The man smirked, leaned in, and whispered something mysterious...

Ferndale.

"Ethan, I can't eat anymore."

"Is that enough?" Ethan opened a bottle of water and brought it to Ashley's lips. "How about some water?"

Ashley smiled and took a sip.

"Want another cupcake?"

Ashley sighed. "I can't. I'll get fat."

"I'll love you no matter what."

Ashley laughed. "You're such a smooth-talker."

Ethan protested, "Only with you!"

Ashley felt warm inside. Checking the time, she said, "I'll go train a bit more. You're busy with work and can't always be with me."

Ethan's eyes flickered. "Alright, I'll help you with your rehab."

With professional guidance, they started the rehab exercises step by step. The two-hour session was grueling. Ashley managed the leg exercises fine, but the arm exercises were torture.

"Ms. Wilson, keep going! Just a bit more!" the medical staff encouraged.

Ashley took a deep breath, trying to lift the weights, but her arm trembled violently, and she broke out in a cold sweat. Ethan watched anxiously, feeling like the heavy equipment might crush her.

"That's enough," Ethan said, stepping forward to lift the equipment away.

The medical staff reluctantly agreed. "Alright, let's end today's training. We'll continue tomorrow."

Ashley looked confused. "Ethan, why did you take away my equipment? I was almost done."

She really wanted to try again, but seeing her struggle, Ethan's heart ached.

"Recovery takes time, Ashley. Your hand's trembling a lot. Let's get it checked again."

Ashley's heart sank, and she got nervous. Ethan wanted to get her checked so he could take the report to the best doctors.

"I just had an X-ray. It's not necessary," Ashley tried to decline.

"Let's do it again. It might be good news," Ethan insisted.

Ashley sighed. "Alright then."

At the hospital, Ashley had already told the doctor not to reveal her true condition. The doctor complied.

"Ethan, are you relieved now? My hand is fine. With more training, it will recover."

Ethan replied, "Yes," gently ruffling her hair. Just then, his phone rang.

"I need to take this call."

"Okay," Ashley said, watching him step away. She sighed in relief. That was close. She almost thought Ethan would find out about her hand, but she managed to cover it up.

"Ashley, I need to handle some business. I'll have the driver take you home, okay?"

"Okay," Ashley agreed without much thought. Ethan saw her into the car and watched her leave before turning back to the doctor's office.

"Doctor, give me my wife's real report!" Ethan demanded.
