Chapter 105: Another Strange Illness

As the animal's blood was sprinkled, everyone seemed to hear a sound coming from the ground, and the air became fresher. Their bodies also relaxed significantly as if some bad thing had vanished.
Orlando then held the wooden sword, swung it a few times, and chanted a few spells loudly, "Alright, the evil spirit here has been exorcised by me. Mr. Brown, you can proceed with the work without worry."
"Thank you, Mr. Wolf," Michael said gratefully, bowing deeply to Orlando.
His many subordinates behind him also bowed to Orlando, showing great respect.
Orlando was very satisfied with Michael's performance and nodded proudly. "I've already solved the problem for you. Don't forget what you promised me."
Michael hurriedly said, "Of course, the remaining payment will be transferred to your account in three days."
Orlando immediately frowned in dissatisfaction. "Why three days? Do you not trust me?"
His fierce expression was intimidating, and Michael felt the pressure. He quickly explained, "Don't misunderstand. I just don't have so much money now. In three days, I will definitely transfer the money to your account."
Orlando knew exactly what Michael was thinking; he knew Michael was just afraid that the spirit would not be successfully exorcised. He snorted coldly, disdainful of Michael's thoughts.
He didn't bother to argue with Michael and proudly said, "Alright, there's no need to explain. After this, I won't help you again. Take care of yourself."
Michael forced a smile, even though he was unhappy about Orlando's words. He even somewhat blamed James, thinking Orlando was angry with him because of James.
James sighed and, not wanting to stay any longer, turned and left.
"Hey, James, wait a minute." Harmony caught up, apologetically saying, "I'm sorry about that. I didn't expect Michael not to believe your capabilities."
"It's fine. I'm not that petty." James waved his hand, not minding. He understood Michael's actions; anyone would choose to trust a renowned Taoist master over him.
Harmony asked, "Is what you said earlier true? Orlando's method is only temporarily effective?"
"Yes!" James nodded seriously. "The evil spirit in this land is extremely strong and full of resentment. I'm sure you felt it; your body felt uncomfortable for no reason when you came here. That's the influence of the evil spirit."
"But I felt that after Orlando performed the ritual, the uncomfortable feeling disappeared," Harmony said, puzzled.
James explained, "That's because the animal's blood temporarily suppressed the evil spirit, like a raging fire covered by a pile of straw. It temporarily hides the fire. Once the straw burns, the fire will become even more fierce and uncontrollable."
Hearing this, Harmony became a bit panicked and asked, "What should we do then?"
James thought for a moment and said, "Even if there is a way, Michael won't believe me. Ms. Brown, if you trust me, don't come here anymore. Advise him not to start work in the next three days, or there will be big trouble."
After saying this, James left.
Michael saw off Orlando and his team, then came over to Harmony and said, "Why are you still here? Where's James?"
"He went back," Harmony answered.
"Good," Michael responded indifferently, frowning. "Why did you call James over? He only causes trouble and can't help with anything."
Harmony said, "Don't underestimate James. He's very capable and knows a lot."
She then recounted the car accident involving Jared to Michael. "I think James is much better than Mr. Wolf. Mr. Wolf looks like a fraud, using things that seem impressive but aren't. James said Mr. Wolf's method is only temporarily effective, just suppressing the evil spirit for now. By tonight, the animal's blood will lose its effect. He also said not to start work for the next three days..."
Michael, growing impatient, interrupted. "Stop it! I trust Mr. Wolf more than James!"
"But what if Mr. Wolf doesn't solve the problem?" Harmony argued.
"If Mr. Wolf can't solve it, then James definitely can't," Michael said firmly. "I know you want to help, but stay out of this."
James was unaware of Michael's dissatisfaction with him. He was on his way to the hospital to pick up Jennifer from work.
It wasn't until half an hour after her shift ended that James saw her come out. He dusted off his pants and walked over to her.
Soon, he noticed Jennifer's troubled expression, filled with worry and even a hint of panic. She didn't even notice James standing in front of her.
James caught up to her and asked, "What's wrong?"
Jennifer was startled by James's sudden voice and let out a small scream. When she turned and saw it was James, she breathed a sigh of relief. "You're here."
"Yes, I came to pick you up from work," James said gently. "You seem distracted. Did something happen at work?"
Jennifer hesitated for a moment and then said, "Today, a special patient came to the hospital, a tycoon from Emerald Isle City. This big shot has a strange illness that our hospital has never seen before."
James became interested and asked, "What kind of strange illness?"
"I can't really explain it; it's just very odd," she answered.
Jennifer was hiding something, but James didn't press further. He was curious why Jennifer seemed so worried.
"If your hospital can't treat it, why not send the patient to another hospital?" he asked.
Jennifer sighed and said, "That's the problem. The director insisted on taking this patient and diagnosed it as a skin disease, assigning the patient to our department. Our chief is away on a business trip, so as the deputy chief, I'm fully responsible."
James frowned and said, "Can you at least describe the patient's symptoms?"
Hearing this, Jennifer's heart skipped a beat. 'That's right, James has read many medical books; maybe he can help?' she thought to herself.
