Chapter 125: Herman is Furious
Everyone turned to look at the sound, only to see five people striding over. The one speaking was Herman.
Besides him, there were Dominic and three other directors of the hospital.
To look for James, Herman investigated Jennifer's address from the hospital records and rushed over immediately.
They went to Jennifer's house and found no one home. Later, they heard that The Johnson Family was in trouble and came over right away. Herman did not expect to see a scene that would infuriate him!
Jennifer was stunned to see Herman and Dominic appear.
Dennis was also surprised and said, "Jennifer, isn't that the director of your hospital? Why is he here?"
"I don't know either," Jennifer said, bewildered. Then she thought of something and quickly looked at James. 'Could it be that James was right?' she thought.
James gave her a slight smile as if he was not surprised about this at all, giving off a calm demeanor.
The appearance of Herman and the others made Steven and his group uneasy. They looked at Wade for guidance.
Wade did not act rashly. He stared at Herman and asked, "Who are you?"
Wade, having risen to the position of deputy director, was a meticulous man. He believed that Herman must have a strong background to dare to scold him, so he needed to figure out Herman's identity.
Dominic immediately said arrogantly, "You are not qualified to know Mr. Watson's identity."
Herman didn't bother with introductions. He was a very powerful tycoon in Emerald Isle City, let alone in a small city like Lindwood City. How could he take Wade, a deputy director, seriously?
However, upon hearing this, Wade burst into laughter, thinking Herman was just a pretentious fraud. "I thought you were someone important, but you're just bragging!"
He put away his smile, his expression extremely arrogant, and got right in Herman's face, cursing, "I don't care who you are. In Lindwood City, I call the shots. You better step aside! Otherwise, I'll arrest you too!"
As Wade finished speaking, a group of his subordinates stepped forward to surround Herman and the others.
Herman's face immediately darkened, and he became furious. Ever since he rose to power, he had always been respected wherever he went. He had never been humiliated like this!
"Very well!" He laughed in anger. "Your name is Wade Murphy, right? You are the boldest guy I ever met."
However, Wade didn't take Herman seriously at all. Seeing Herman take out his phone to make a call, he laughed. "Calling for backup? Fine, let's see who you can get."
Wade had been arrogant here for a long time. Recently, he even had dinner with the mayor. In the city, there were not many who could make Wade scared.
He knew all the officials in Lindwood City who were higher in rank than him, and Herman was clearly not among them.
So, Wade didn't care about Herman's words at all, thinking he was just bluffing.
This sudden change left Jennifer's family bewildered. Dennis whispered to Jennifer, "Jennifer, who is this Mr. Watson? Why is he helping us?"
Jennifer actually didn't know Herman's exact identity; she only knew that he was a powerful figure from Emerald Isle City with immense influence. But she couldn't understand why Herman would appear here and help them.
"I don't know either. He's a family member of a patient at our hospital and has a very prestigious status," Jennifer said, frowning.
She once again looked at James, feeling that Herman's showing up had something to do with him. Yet James remained silent, wearing an enigmatic expression.
Herman made a call and said coldly, "Randall, I'm in Lindwood City. Contact the mayor of Lindwood City right now and have him call me. Remember, I want it now! If he doesn't call me within a minute, he won't be the mayor anymore!"
Randall, Herman's secretary, was so frightened that he almost fell out of bed. "Yes! I'll handle it right away!"
"Who is it?" A woman extended her arms from the quilt and wrapped them around Randall's neck, only to be slapped in the face by Randall. "Get lost. Don't bother me!"
The woman was stunned by Randall's slap and started crying in grievance. She couldn't understand how the man who was sweet-talking her ten minutes ago could change so drastically after a phone call.
Randall didn't dare delay. He had been by Herman's side for over a decade and had never heard Herman so furious!
It took him only ten seconds to find the phone number of Lindwood City's mayor, Joe, and dial it.
Joe was in a meeting when he received Randall's call. He quickly answered, and upon hearing Randall's words, he was terrified. Learning about Herman's identity made him even more frightened, almost unable to stand up!
'A tycoon like Herman coming to Lindwood City? And I hadn't received any notice!' Joe thought.
With trembling hands, Joe dialed Herman's number.
Just as the minute was about to end, Herman received the call.
"Mr. Watson, I'm the mayor of Lindwood City. You needed me?" Joe asked nervously.
Herman's tone was icy. "What's your name?"
Joe couldn't guess Herman's intentions and quickly replied, "My name is Joe Evans."
"Joe, you've got five minutes to get the police chief to Green Street, or you know the consequence." With that, Herman hung up the phone.
Dominic and the three directors beside him were already drenched in sweat. Being closest to Herman, they felt the terrifying aura emanating from him, almost forgetting to breathe.
At the same time, they deeply regretted offending James. Now, James was Brandon's savior, and if he complained to Herman, they would be in big trouble!
"You're making a call and pretending you are talking to our mayor?" Wade sneered.
Dominic and the others looked at Wade as if he were an idiot, thinking that this fool didn't realize he was on the brink of disaster.
Joe and his team arrived quickly, taking only about three minutes.
