Chapter 154: Jennifer and Harmony

James thought, 'Isn't that Harmony?
'How could she be here?'
James was taken aback and then inexplicably felt a bit nervous. He was worried that Harmony would say something she shouldn't in front of Jennifer.
Jennifer saw Harmony and was pleasantly surprised. She stood up to greet her. "Harmony, what are you doing here? What a coincidence."
Harmony was also very happy. "I'm here doing some business. I didn't expect to run into you here. We must be fated to meet."
She sat down, quickly glanced at James, and then embraced Jennifer.
When they embraced, others were all stunned by their beauty.
Indeed, both Jennifer and Harmony were stunning beauties. Their temperament, appearance, and figure were all top-notch. Any one of them would be the center of attention, and now, they embraced each other which created a beautiful scene.
And James, being the man closest to them, became the thorn in the eyes of many men present.
James watched them approach and embrace, their equally full bosoms pressing together, and couldn't help but feel excited.
"By the way, Jennifer, why do you come here?" Harmony sat down next to Jennifer and glanced at James. She winked at him with a radiant smile, revealing a hint of mischief.
Seeing her expression, James felt even more uneasy. He quickly lowered his head to drink tea, avoiding her gaze and pretending to be calm.
He was unsure about Harmony. If she suddenly mentioned that he had seen her naked, he would be in big trouble.
So, the best course of action was to stay quiet and not offend Harmony.
"We're here for some business as well." Jennifer briefly mentioned her plan to open a clinic. Harmony was delighted. "Wow, Jennifer, you're opening a clinic? That's wonderful! Now, if I get sick, I can come to you and won't have to be examined by others."
As she said this, she deliberately glanced at James.
James was drinking water and almost choked. If he hadn't reacted quickly, he would have sprayed water all over Jennifer and Harmony.
Jennifer, unaware of the entanglement between the two, saw James choking on water and said disapprovingly, "James, why are you in such a hurry to drink water? No one is competing with you."
James awkwardly laughed twice and said nothing.
"Harmony, don't mind him. Let's continue our conversation." Jennifer glanced at James sidelong and then asked Harmony, "Why do you need a treatment? Did you catch an illness?"
Harmony realized she had slipped up and felt a bit flustered, but she quickly composed herself and said calmly, "It was last time when I had a skin condition. My dad invited a doctor... never mind, that was a boring story. Let's continue discussing your clinic."
Jennifer felt that her old classmate seemed a bit off, but she couldn't pinpoint exactly what was wrong.
Suddenly, she had a hunch. Could it be related to James?
The thought startled her.
She quickly dismissed the absurd notion. It was impossible. As a former classmate, she knew Harmony's character well. Harmony was even more aloof and had higher standards than she did. She and James belonged to distinct social realms. Even if Harmony were blind, she wouldn't be attracted to James.
Though she thought this way, she still observed Harmony and James for a moment. Not noticing anything unusual between them, she saw that James was still as awkward as ever in front of Harmony. She didn't think much more of it.
Jennifer then recounted to Harmony how she had resigned from the hospital and planned to open a clinic.
However, Jennifer didn't notice that when she mentioned James's heroic efforts in the operating room, Harmony's eyes sparkled as she gazed intently at James.
Jennifer was usually quite reserved in front of most people, but with her close friend Harmony, she became very talkative and vividly narrated the story. Even James, the subject of the story, found himself somewhat admiring his own deeds.
He had to admit that being praised by Jennifer made him pretty good.
Harmony's eyes shone even brighter, accompanied by a rapid heartbeat. "Isn't James unemployed? When did he learn such impressive medical skills?"
In fact, Harmony had been curious about this for a long time. Just two or three years ago, James was a man who couldn't even find a job.
Jennifer was momentarily stumped by Harmony's question because she didn't know how James had suddenly become so skilled either.
"Well..." She couldn't finish the line.
Harmony asked curiously, "Even you don't know?"
James quickly interjected, "Jennifer taught me."
"Hmm?"
"Uh..."
Both women were stunned.
Harmony asked curiously, "Jennifer, when did you learn acupuncture?"
Jennifer blushed and glared at James, then awkwardly said, "Medical skills are interconnected. I just taught James some basic knowledge, and he learned the rest on his own."
She had to say this way because James's medical skills were superior to hers, and she felt embarrassed to continue lying.
James added, "It's mainly thanks to Jennifer. I just learned a bit of the basics she taught me..."
Jennifer couldn't listen any longer and glared at James. "Alright, let's not talk about this. Harmony, what brings you to Pearl Peak City this time?"
Harmony's face showed a hint of unease, and she stammered without revealing the specifics, as if she had something she couldn't say. Seeing this, Jennifer didn't press further.
After chatting for a while, Jennifer got up to go to the restroom, leaving Harmony and James at the table, creating an awkward atmosphere.
James continued eating with his head down, avoiding looking at Harmony. In this situation, it was best to stay low-key to avoid unintentionally offending Harmony.
Harmony propped her chin on her hand, her beautiful eyes sparkling as she stared at James.
After a while, she suddenly said, "Are you afraid of me?"
James paused and looked up. "No, Why would I?."
"Then why don't you dare look at me? Feeling guilty?" Harmony's lips curled slightly.
James pretended to be calm and said, "That's strange, why would I feel guilty for no reason?"
He straightened his back and looked at Harmony naturally, but her next words immediately defeated him.
"Because you've touched my body. I wonder how Jennifer would react if she knew you've not only seen me but also touched me all over. I'm really curious." Harmony revealed a devilish smile, as if she was looking forward to that scene.
James panicked immediately. "Come on, I was treating your disease!"
"I don't care. The fact is that you saw my body and touched me." Harmony crossed her arms, looking defiant.
Seeing her like this, James felt a wave of helplessness. "So what do you want?"
