Chapter 550 Infinite Arrogance

Otha's expression immediately changed, his expression becoming serious as he asked, "Which leader?"

The subordinate replied, "It seems to be the leader of the leaders."

Mason and Yosef, who were nearby, also heard the subordinate's words. They immediately realized the gravity of the situation, and their expressions became equally serious.

Otha stepped aside to take the call, "My pleasure, I'll release him right away."

In less than half a minute, he returned, now with a sheen of cold sweat on his forehead, and said to Mason and Yosef, "Mr. Percy, Mr. Lewis, I fear I can no longer assist you. Just now, my superior called and instructed me to release James immediately. James's actions are deemed lawful."

"What?" Mason and Yosef were furious upon hearing this. "What do you mean by legal killing? Our sons were killed by that bastard James. Is there no law, no justice anymore?"

Otha said awkwardly, "That's how it should be, but the leader just called and explained that James has a special status and the right to kill legally. This is beyond my jurisdiction. Perhaps you two should seek other ways?"

At this moment, James in the interrogation room laughed, "It seems the call has come through. Sorry to disappoint your plans."

Mason and Yosef gritted their teeth in hatred upon hearing this. Yosef, eyes wide with rage, couldn't help but shout, "James! Don't get too cocky. You dared to kill my son; I will make you pay with your blood!"

"Really?" James sneered in the interrogation room, then suddenly punched the glass window. With a loud bang, a hole appeared in the glass, which then began to crack. James' right hand reached through and grabbed Yosef's clothes, pulling him over.

This sudden reaction shocked everyone. They knew that this glass window was not only anti-peeping but also extremely hard and bulletproof. Even a normal person with a hammer would find it hard to break. And now, James had shattered it with a single punch? It was unbelievable. Was James human or a ghost?

Mason, being a martial artist, understood the terror of this feat the most. Even he couldn't break such a hard glass with one punch.

This showed just how terrifying James' strength was!

As for Yosef, he was trembling all over, his face pale with fear.

James grabbed his collar, pulled him close to the glass, and coldly said, "Yosef, don't think you're so great just because you're the head of the Lewis family. In my eyes, you're nothing but an ant. I did kill Brent because he came looking for trouble first, even buying Delbert's favor to kill me publicly. Killing him was self-defense. If you want revenge, you're welcome anytime. This time, I'll let it go. Next time, if you dare to come after me or anyone around me, I'll make you wish you were dead! The Lewis family behind you will also be destroyed!"

"You, bastard!" Yosef, not being a martial artist but an ordinary person, couldn't withstand James' fury. His face turned pale, and he trembled with extreme fear, unable to utter a complete sentence.

James pushed Yosef away.

Then, with another punch, James shattered the entire bulletproof glass and walked out of the interrogation room.

There were over thirty cops present, all of whom were so intimidated by his domineering demeanor that they dared not make any rash moves.

Mason, too, couldn't hide his fear and tension, staring intently at James as he walked towards him, swallowing hard.

James stood in front of him, didn't make a move, but instead helped him straighten his tie, patted his chest, and said with a smile, "Mr. Percy, you were friends with my dad. I even had meals at your house when I was a kid. By seniority, I should call you uncle."

Mason gritted his teeth, took a deep breath, and hissed, "James, you killed my son. Do you think you can just walk away?"

James said, "You are well aware of what your son has done. I killed him because he deserved it. Naturally, you don't care about any of that; you simply want to avenge your son."

Mason's eyes were wide with rage, staring intently at James.

James' smile faded as he said calmly, "I don't intend to reason with you. I killed your son, and I won't deny it. Given another chance, I'd kill him again, even in front of you, Mason!"

James' words were extremely domineering, making Mason tremble as he recalled James' formidable presence in the City of Mysteries years ago.

This was in the police station, surrounded by so many officers, yet James still said such words, which was extremely impactful.

But no one could do anything to him.

With his current status, no one dared to touch him.

Mason gritted his teeth and huffed, "James! You're going too far!"

James laughed, "So what if I am? Mason, haven't you done such things yourself? I know all the despicable things you've done. Calling you heinous is an understatement."

Mason's mouth moved, but he didn't refute because James was right. Over the years, he had done many unscrupulous things to expand his power.

James continued, "I killed Lester. You can seek revenge on me, but if you dare to use underhanded means to threaten my family, it won't be as simple as an eye for an eye! Mr. Percy, you watched me grow up; you know my character."

In the end, James' face was full of smiles, but there was no warmth in his eyes, making him look terrifyingly sinister.

James let go of Mason, not making a move against him. This time, out of respect for Mason as a senior, James let him go. But if there was a next time, he wouldn't be so lenient.

As for Otha and the others, they all lowered their heads, pretending not to see anything.

After all, the level of conflict involving someone like James was beyond what a small-time director like him could handle.

He was consumed with a profound sense of awe; James was truly terrifying—with his young age, formidable skills, and an equally intimidating background, it seemed no one could possibly restrain him.

So everyone watched James leave, not daring to stop him.
