Chapter 326 The Smith Family from the City of Mysteries

Uriah saw James was kinda moved, and a tiny spark of hope lit up in his otherwise gloomy heart.

His brain kicked back into gear, and a bunch of ideas started racing through his mind.

First off, he needed to throw out some crazy high compensation to keep James chill and buy some time. Once James let his guard down, they could bounce back and take him out!

He was sure his acting skills were top-notch, and James wouldn't catch on.

"Mr. Smith, you're like, insanely strong. We messed up big time earlier. To show our sincerity, the Perry family is willing to give you half of all our business shares, Mr. Smith!" Uriah tried to calm himself down. Even though his body was still hurting, he had to keep it together and try to fool James. "And from now on, Mr. Smith, you'll be our most solid ally. We swear we won't ever betray you!"

Half the shares!

James's face stayed pretty blank, just a slight eyebrow raise, but Kieran's eyes went wide, his breathing got all heavy, and his chest was heaving.

This was half of the Perry family's shares.

He looked at James like he was dying to be him and take the deal. This was a golden opportunity.

"Looks like you're pretty serious. Half the Perry family's shares are definitely tempting," James said, sounding thoughtful.

Hearing this, Uriah couldn't hide his excitement. "Mr. Smith, we're totally sincere. If you agree, I can get a lawyer to draft a binding contract right away!"

Seeing James was kinda tempted, Uriah got even more pumped and started feeling smug. 'James, no matter how tough you are, it's all about brains these days. Once you drop your guard, I'll take you out in a heartbeat!'

Nevertheless, James wasn't buying any of it.

James sighed and shook his head, saying, "Uriah, I gotta admit, you're a smart guy. In terms of willpower, guts, and smarts, you're top-notch among your peers. If you took over the Perry family, you could prosper it in ten years."

Hearing this, Uriah was stunned at first, and then felt proud. Among his peers, he was definitely the best. If he ran the Perry family, it would totally shine in ten years.

But then, James's next words crushed his smugness instantly.

"Too bad, you shouldn't have messed with me." As soon as James finished speaking, he squeezed, and with a crack, broke Uriah's finger.

Uriah let out a blood-curdling scream!

James then kicked him in the chest, sending him flying like a ragdoll. He spat out a mouthful of blood and crashed to the ground.

He stared at James with wide eyes, totally shocked, not getting why James still attacked him.

James stood up, ambled over to him, arily slapped Asher away, and then stepped on Uriah's chest, pinning him down. He looked down at him, asking, "Did you really think your crappy acting could fool me?"

Uriah's pupils shrank in disbelief. Why could James still see through his trick?

James stepped on him and leaned down. "Honestly, an offer of the whole Perry family wouldn't sway me. Does the Smith family from the City of Mysteries ring a bell?"

Hearing "the Smith family from the City of Mysteries," Uriah started shaking like a leaf, his eyes wide with fear. "No way! That's impossible!"

His reaction made it clear he knew all about the Smith family from the City of Mysteries.

Even though he was usually cocky and thought he was hot stuff, he knew deep down that even if he was ten times better, he could never bring the Perry family up to the level of the Smith family from the City of Mysteries. He wasn't underestimating himself; the Smith family was just too damn powerful.

The Perry family and the Smith family from the City of Mysteries were in totally different leagues.

Seeing James's fighting skills and smarts, Uriah was scared out of his mind. He started begging for mercy, throwing all his pride out the window. "Mr. Smith, I messed up. I really messed up. Please, spare me. I'll be your slave, I swear I'll never betray you for the rest of my life."

Uriah's begging didn't move James, but it hit Kieran differently!

Who was Uriah? In all of Lindwood City, few knew Uriah better than Kieran! He was the top dog, the most cunning, and the smartest guy around. Especially his willpower, which was off the charts. Half of his fame in Lindwood City was for his brains!

Once, someone held a knife to his neck, and he didn't even flinch. But now, in front of James, he was a wreck, crying and begging like a scared puppy. Honestly, this scene blew Kieran's mind even more than James taking on dozens of guys earlier!

At this moment, Kieran's respect for James hit an all-time high! Deep down, he knew that even if James was in a coma, he would never dare to betray him. Because if James ever woke up, Kieran knew he'd be the first to pay.

As for Asher, seeing Uriah go to pieces and beg for mercy, he was just as shocked as Kieran!

At the same time, he was completely hopeless.

He only had two sons. Now, Jared was a madman, and the capable Uriah was also defeated. He could already see the Perry family heading for ruin.

For a moment, Asher cried, filled with deep regret.

Facing Uriah's pleas, James wasn't about to let him off the hook. He pulled out a needle box from his pocket, took out three fine needles, and stuck them right into Uriah's head. The terrified and struggling Uriah immediately passed out.

Of course, he didn't kill Uriah. He just turned him into an idiot, something even God couldn't fix.

It wasn't about being merciful; making Uriah a fool was the ultimate punishment for him.

Next up was Asher. James walked over, ready to use the needle, but saw that Asher had already gone mad from all the stress. That actually saved him the trouble.

As for the dozens of guys lying on the ground, James didn't bother with them. The ones who deserved to die were Asher and Uriah. The rest were just lackeys, not worth killing, and James knew that.

He pulled out his phone and dialed a number. "Hey, I'm done here. Can you help me tie up the loose ends? I owe you one."
