Chapter 626 Darsha's Here

"This kind of vibe…" James couldn't help but feel a chill. "Is Darsha a living human? If so, this guy's gotta be a total beast!"

As James sat on the ground deep in thought, the people around him all knelt in unison before the statue of Darsha. Not only that, but their movements were synchronized, their expressions solemn, and they were extremely devout.

With the people's kneeling, James suddenly noticed a strange power slowly gathering from the kneeling people and being absorbed by the statue of Darsha.

"Is it the power of faith?"

James suddenly realized that this Darsha might indeed exist, but he wasn't sure about its true strength. This method of collecting people's faith to cultivate was quite peculiar. However, James looked down on it, as the power gained through such shortcuts had a weak foundation. Once the faith was cut off, it would lead to a state of utter ruin.

Having figured this out, James felt there was nothing more to see at the festival, so he stood up.

But that move was spotlight. In a flash, all eyes were on him. The guy running the Darsha Festival pointed straight at James and barked out something unintelligible. Next thing he knew, a pack of stick-wielding, hyper-devout soldiers came charging through the kneeling crowd, surrounding James in seconds.

Seeing this, James narrowed his eyes and said coldly, "I'm not here to cause trouble, just to see Darsha's grandeur. Move aside!"

A devout-looking, very thin guy stepped out from the soldiers, clasped his hands together, and said to James, "Dear believer, since you are here, you should kneel before Darsha."

James glanced at the guy. He wasn't an ordinary person either, with strength at the peak of the second stage. Although this was quite good among ordinary people, it was nothing in James's eyes.

"Other than my elders, I've never met anyone in this world who can make me, James, kneel. So, get lost!"

Hearing James's tone, the thin devout man frowned slightly and then said to James, "Since you are here to cause trouble, you will stay here!"

After saying that, the thin devout man took two steps back, and the kneeling people all dispersed. The worship ceremony was interrupted because of James.

The thin devout man continued, "If you are willing to kneel before Darsha and sincerely repent, you might have a way out. Otherwise..."

James sneered, "If you want to catch me, just come. No need for so many words!"

Seeing this, the thin devout man stopped persuading and waved his arm. A group of devout soldiers thrust their sticks at James. But James did not retreat. Instead, he stretched out his hands and suddenly embraced, seemingly generating a huge suction force that directly grabbed all the thrusting sticks. Then, with a grin, a terrifying force blasted all the devout soldiers backward, making them sit on the ground, their faces flushed, and some even coughing up blood.

At this moment, the thin devout man's face changed dramatically, looking at James in shock and asking, "Wh-what are you planning? I'm Darsha's messenger! If you lay a finger on me, Darsha'll hunt you down!"

James glanced at the Darsha statue, his smile icy. "Here's your shot. Call up your Darsha. Let's see what this so-called god's really made of!"

The scrawny guy hesitated, then sneered. "You're asking for it. Don't blame me when it's too late!"

The thin devout man was slightly stunned, then sneered, "If you seek death, don't blame me!"

After saying that, the thin devout man called out everyone from the temple and began to gather the believers, sitting cross-legged around the statue and chanting scriptures.

Seeing this, James raised an eyebrow. "Huh, a summoning circle. Looks like this Darsha's the real deal. But what the hell is it?"

He leaned back, watching the scene with mild amusement. As time dragged on, a glow started to flicker in the sky. The crowd under the statue erupted, shouting, "Darsha's here! Darsha's here!"

This scene made the devout kneelers even more convinced that Darsha was a true god. But James's expression remained unchanged, his eyes fixed on the glow in the sky.

At first, he noticed the glow was all over the place, shaking like crazy. But as time went on, it got brighter, steadier, almost like you could reach out and touch it.

Then, James's face went from calm to straight-up shocked. As the glow got brighter, the energy inside him started moving on its own. Even crazier, he felt a slight shift in his power level. But just as quick as it came, the feeling was gone. Once the glow settled in the sky, it was like it never happened.

"This must be something good. If that feeling had persisted, I could have quickly broken through to the fourth stage!"

Seeing the glow in the sky, James's eyes showed some heat. But at this moment, a ethereal voice came, "My followers, why have you summoned me?"

James squinted, looking at a large female figure floating in the glow. The woman looked dignified and elegant, giving people an irresistible urge to worship.

So at this moment, most of the people below were influenced by this so-called Darsha, prostrating on the ground without moving.

The scrawny zealot, whether he was hyped up or just naturally red-faced, was practically glowing. "Darsha, today's supposed to be our big celebration—your faithful followers here to honor you. But this guy," he jabbed a finger at James, "showed up, wrecked the vibe, and beat up my guys."

As the thin devout man finished speaking, the woman's figure looked at James. At that moment, James felt as if his whole body was being seen through, a creepy feeling.

James was horrified and thought, 'What kind of level is this Darsha? It feels so ethereal and unfathomable!'

The woman's figure glanced at James and then said, "A guy who hasn't even reached Foundation Building? You are too useless!"

The thin devout man didn't dare to respond, but James's heart was in turmoil. Darsha had dropped the term Foundation Building, and even though he didn't know exactly what it meant, he knew it had to be some kind of power tier.

James stepped up, switching gears fast, "Look, uh, Your Holiness, I didn't mean to crash the party. Just got curious, that's all."

Darsha raised an eyebrow, her voice icy. "You want me to let you off the hook?"
