Chapter 90 Plot Twist, Poor Curtis

Unfortunately, Curtis didn't see the expressions on Stanley's and the others' faces. Otherwise, he would definitely have realized that something was amiss.

Joel and the others were also excited, admiring Curtis even more. Handsome, wealthy, and even knowing the big shots in society, such a man is easily a winner in life.

'It's hard to know what Jennifer was thinking, rejecting such a perfect man like Curtis and choosing to marry a waste like James. It's truly a blind decision,' Joel thought.

Feeling the admiration from everyone, Curtis became even more excited, unable to hide the smile on his face.

He quickly walked over to the Crocodile, loudly saying, "Crocodile, Man, finally you're here!"

The Crocodile wasn't particularly tall, standing around 5'9", but he had a fierce appearance, with a menacing look that clearly marked him as a dangerous individual. Behind him, a dozen henchmen followed, looking fierce and cruel.

"Curtis, what's going on? Who dares to offend you? " The Crocodile's voice was hoarse, exuding a strong presence, giving hope to Frederick and the others. They straightened up, sneering at Stanley and the rest, feeling like they could soon avenge themselves.

James shook his head, saying helplessly, "Things have escalated."

Jennifer, feeling somewhat emotional, remarked, "I have to say, Curtis is quite impressive. With just one phone call, he resolved the situation."

As she spoke, a tinge of sourness crept into her heart. She thought, 'If James had taken the spotlight, how great would that have been? In the end, James just wasn't as outstanding as Curtis.'

James said, "On the contrary, Curtis couldn't handle the situation; he's gotten himself into trouble."

Jennifer immediately furrowed her brow. She felt James was being jealous. The situation was so obvious—Curtis made a phone call and dozens of people arrived, while the other side only had six. How could he not have resolved it?

Before she could speak, a female classmate beside her couldn't help but mock, "James, are you being stupid? Just because you can't handle it doesn't mean others can't."

Another female classmate added, "Exactly, you're just jealous that Curtis is more capable than you. When trouble arises, as a man, you can't step up to help but hide in the background. And now that Curtis had easily handled this situation, you're here making snide remarks. Don't you think that's too much?"

"That's not too much, it's downright disgusting," Another one added.

Jennifer moved her mouth, intending to speak up for James, but seeing James not helping and being jealous, she couldn't defend him. She pinched James and muttered under her breath, "Shut up a bit!"

James rolled his eyes. He helplessly remarked, "Fine, I was trying to warn you all, and now you're saying I'm being snide. You'll see your mistake soon."

Curtis coughed twice, leading the Crocodile over and pointing at Stanley and the others, and said, "Crocodile Brother, it's these few troublemakers who offended me! They were arrogant, and even after I mentioned your name, they not only didn't apologize but mocked you."

The Crocodile instantly became furious. His eyes widened, and he angrily exclaimed, "Damn it! where did these bastards come from? How dare they disrespect me, your..."

However, before he could finish his sentence, upon seeing Stanley and the others, his fierce expression froze.

Especially Stanley's inscrutable smile made him fear, and he suddenly felt flustered.

Stanley, he was Crocodile's boss, 'the' big boss here!

Curtis was all worked up, his face flushed with excitement. He taunted Stanley, "You troublemaker, now that Crocodile Brother is here, it's not something that can be resolved with just twenty thousand!"

"Is that so?" Stanley replied indifferently.

Stanley's face revealed a meaningful smile as he walked calmly towards Curtis, exhaling smoke in his face, full of mockery. He cooly said, "You're right, at this point, it's indeed not something that can be resolved with just twenty thousand."

Curtis furrowed his brow, feeling displeased. This guy, facing death, still dared to be so arrogant. He planned to let Crocodile Brother teach him a lesson soon!

"Crocodile Brother, you see it too, these few troublemakers are too arrogant, they don't respect you at all," Curtis incited, trying to provoke Crocodile Brother's anger as much as possible.

However, as he looked up, he finally noticed something amiss. The previously fierce Crocodile Brother now had a pale face, sweating profusely, and had a panicked expression.

"This..." Crocodile was stunned, unable to comprehend the situation for a moment which rendered him speechless.

Stanley's expression turned cold as he addressed Crocodile Brother, "Crocodile, you're quite arrogant, the ruler of Lindwood City? What situation did you place me in? "

"Stanley, I-I-I..." Crocodile Brother stuttered, clearly terrified of Stanley, "It's not true! I was just joking with this idiot. In front of you, Stanley, how could I dare to say such disrespectful words!"

Then, he abruptly turned around and delivered a heavy slap to Curtis's face, using all his strength. With a loud smack, Curtis was sent spinning in place, crashing heavily to the ground, letting out a scream as blood oozed from his mouth.

"You fucking Curtis, dare to fool me?! This is Stanley, my mafia boss!" Crocodile Brother angrily cursed, then viciously kicked Curtis, causing him to vomit everything he had eaten, looking extremely wretched.

This scene left everyone bewildered.

The plot had twisted too quickly. Just a moment ago, they thought Curtis had called in a strong mafia guy to help them vent their anger, but it turned out he had called in someone else who was weaker...

This reversal was truly hard to accept.

Especially Curtis's pitiful situation made them feel frightened.

Curtis was in so much pain that he couldn't even breathe properly. The kick from Crocodile Brother seemed to have broken his ribs.

His eyes widened in disbelief, his face full of incredulity. How could he not understand? Just a while ago, didn't Crocodile Brother tell him he was the boss of Lindwood City? How come everyone he met seemed to be Crocodile Brother's senior?

'What bad luck, this was just too unlucky!' he thought bitterly.

Jennifer was dumbfounded. Soon, she remembered James's words earlier and blurted out, "How did you know?"

The girls who had mocked him earlier also looked at him confusedly.

James replied, "I just knew it."

To be honest, seeing Curtis get beaten up, he felt quite satisfied. Villains deserve their comeuppance.

Suddenly, he found himself feeling a bit fond of Stanley.

Curtis regretted deeply. If he had known things would turn out like this, he wouldn't have acted so arrogantly! Now, instead of being successful, he had become a laughingstock.

The stark contrast made him wish he were dead!

Stanley crouched down, pressing the burning end of his cigar onto Curtis's body, grinning as he spoke, "You were quite arrogant, calling for help. Do you want me to apologize now?"

Curtis screamed in pain, his body convulsing, tears streaming down his face. But he dared not resist because he knew that if he did, the outcome would be even more tragic.

Witnessing this scene, Joel and the others felt their scalps tingle, and many of the alumnae were on the verge of tears.
