Chapter 480 The Death of Lester

The unfortunate thing was that many audiences looked at him differently now. There was no longer the previous awe; instead, it had turned into schadenfreude. 'Eli, as the Silver Eagle Leader, aren't you very impressive? Everyone has to show you respect. So why is it useless now when facing James?' The audiences thought.

People had always worshipped the strong. Now, the dominance James displayed directly crushed Eli, making him the most powerful presence in the room.

Their gazes towards James were filled with awe, realizing that the once-feared renegade had truly returned. The City of Mysteries was about to undergo a dramatic transformation.

James's gaze shifted away from Eli. Tonight, no matter what, he was determined to kill Lester. Not even Eli, nor his brother Maurice, could stop him.

James walked over to Lester, grabbed his hair in front of Eli, and dragged him away.

Lester was already petrified, overwhelmed by the sheer aura of dominance exuded by James. He lost all look of composure and desperately clung to Eli's leg, pleading, "Mr. Ward, save me, Mr. Ward, please save me!"

Eli's brow twitched continuously, his jaw clenched tightly as he stared at James, "James, are you trying to declaring war against the Ward family?"

James completely ignored him, single-handedly grabbing Lester by the neck and lifting him up. His gaze passed through Lester, staring into the void, "Donna, Gregory, I'm avenging you."

"No, James, please." Lester felt James's killing intent, his legs kicking frantically in the air, his face turning red from lack of oxygen, on the verge of suffocation.

James remained expressionless, lifting Lester above his head, appearing extremely cold and devoid of any emotion.

Lester was a martial artist and a member of the Percy family, holding a very prestigious status in the City of Mysteries. Many people wanted to curry favor with Lester but never had the chance.

But now, in front of James, Lester was like a chicken, powerless to resist. Even begging like a dog was futile, his life force slowly draining away, on the brink of death.

His kicking legs in the air began to slow down.

This scene was a huge shock to everyone.

Would James really dare to strangle Lester to death in front of so many people?

This was no longer just about disrespecting Eli; it was a direct declaration of war against the Percy family.

Five years ago, although James was domineering and arrogant, he at most crippled people but never killed anyone. Now, after disappearing for five years, James returned and killed Lester in his first appearance in the industry. This was subversive; they couldn't describe James's madness with any word!

Even Eli was breathing rapidly, his heart racing, thinking James was insane.

A minute passed. Lester initially struggled violently, but gradually he weakened, his eyes rolling back, barely clinging to life.

Everyone held their breath, waiting to see if James would really execute Lester in front of so many audiences.

Soon, James gave them the answer.

After several more seconds, Lester had ceased to move entirely, his head lolling to one side. As James released his grip, Lester crumpled to the ground like a lifeless heap, remaining utterly still.

Lester was dead. James had really strangled Lester to death.

Looking at the bruises on Lester's neck and his eyes wide open in death, everyone, including Eli, felt a chilling cold.

However, James acted as if he had done something trivial. He stepped over Lester and walked towards a few others behind him. They were all Lester's accomplices, involved in the deaths of Donna and Gregory five years ago.

Facing James's approach, they were terrified and turned to run.

Yet, before James, there was no possibility of escape for them. He swiftly caught up and brutally incapacitated their legs and feet, causing devastating fractures. "I'm James," he declared. "If you seek vengeance, feel free to send your family's strongest. That is, if you dare to face death."

Then James walked over to Jeffery, patted him on the shoulder, "Let's go."

Jeffery, in a daze, finally reacted, nodding vigorously and quickly following James out.

Throughout the entire Silver Eagle Conference, from members to staff and security, there were at least four to five hundred people. Not one dared to stand in James's way. When they saw James coming, they quickly stepped aside, afraid of provoking this terrifying tyrant.

Everyone watched him leave in silence, not daring to make a sound. Even Eli, with a sullen face, did not stop James.

It wasn't that he didn't know he should stop James; he simply didn't dare.

With the strength James had just displayed, he was so formidable. Eli doubted if he could defeat James.

The main issue was that he no longer understood James. Acting like a madman, doing things without regard for consequences, if he stood up to stop James and really angered him, it would be in a big troule for him.

It wasn't until James had been gone for half a minute that someone dared to speak.

"The City of Mysteries is about to change," someone murmured, their voice not loud, yet audible to many, echoing everyone's thoughts.

"Is James really that powerful? Daring to kill Lester in front of so many of us."

"He's a madman!"

"And I feel like he's even stronger than five years ago. He easily defeated a dozen martial artists who attacked him. It's terrifying!"

"I wonder if Maurice and Neil can defeat James?" The audiences chattered.

Slowly, they confirmed that James had indeed left, and only then did they dare to curse James.

"Anyway, James is crazy! Too arrogant, not putting us in his eyes at all. He'll get his comeuppance sooner or later."

"Exactly, the Percy family is no small family. He dared to kill Lester; he can expect relentless revenge from the Percy family!"

"It's one thing for him not to respect us, but Eli is here, too, our current Silver Eagle Leader. Disrespecting Eli is disrespecting the Ward family. Is James stronger than the Ward family now? No way!"

"No! The Smith family will soon be kicked out of the top three families. Let's see how James dies then!" They all shouted and turned their eyes to Eli, waiting for his words.

Eli's gaze was cold, his heart filled with immense anger.

With a single gesture, the crowd fell silent. Eli declared, "James's actions show a blatant disregard for all of us. I will ensure that justice is served for Lester!"
