Chapter 250 Uriah's Plot

His roar reverberated through the room, leaving everyone shaken and speechless.

Last night, Soren returned to the Perry family estate with Jared immediately after James left the villa.

Now, he knelt before Asher, repeatedly slapping himself. "Asher, it's all my fault! I failed to protect Jared. Please punish me!"

Asher wasn't known for his temper. He was a man of calculated calm, believing that true success demanded composure, especially in the face of adversity.

But the sight of his son, broken and battered, lying on the verge of death, unleashed a fury he could no longer contain.

He slammed his fist on the armrest, his voice laced with barely suppressed rage. "Tell me! Who did this?!"

Soren's voice trembled as he spoke, his forehead pressed against the floor. "Asher, it was James."

"James?" Asher's eyes narrowed, a flicker of recognition passing through them. "This James… is he the young man from Mr. Jackson's party?"

"Yes," Soren confirmed.

"Very well!" Asher's voice dripped with icy fury. "James, is it? How dare he harm a member of the Perry family? I'll show him what it means to cross us! Soren, tell me everything. Leave nothing out!"

"Yes, Asher."

Soren recounted the events in detail, his voice trembling at times.

Asher listened intently, his expression hardening when he heard about James's strength and how he had sent men flying with a single blow. "This James… he's strong then?"

"Yes," Soren said respectfully. "I hired five men, two of them professional boxers. He defeated them all with ease. He's dangerous, Asher."

Asher's eyes narrowed to slits, his fingers drumming a silent rhythm on the armrest. A palpable tension filled the room, heavy with unspoken threat.

He rose to his feet, his voice cold and resolute. "I don't care who he is. He will pay for this."

"Asher," Soren interjected cautiously, "James is strong. A direct confrontation might not be wise."

"Then what do you suggest?" Asher's voice was sharp, brooking no argument.

A flicker of cunning crossed Soren's face. "We target his weakness. His wife, Jennifer. We take her and use her to leverage James's compliance. No matter how strong he is, he won't risk his wife's safety."

Asher didn't hesitate. "Make the arrangements, Soren. Handle this well, and I'll spare you.  If you don't, don't blame me for punishing you.."

He opened his eyes, fixing Soren with a chilling stare that spoke volumes.

"I understand!" Soren choked out, fear constricting his throat.

A voice cut through the tension, calm and measured. "Father, I advise against this course of action."

Asher frowned, turning towards the source of the voice. "Uriah. Explain yourself."

Uriah, Asher's second son, stood by the window, his expression unreadable. Despite the rivalry between him and Jared, the sight of his brother's condition had ignited a cold fury within him.

"Father, you've been away," Uriah said, his voice laced with an icy calm. "You're unaware of recent developments. This James, he's a doctor. He made quite a name for himself at the medical conference in M City. He's a public figure now. Any overt action against him would be unwise."

Asher's frown deepened. He listened intently as Uriah recounted the events of the conference, his face growing grimmer by the minute. "So, what? I'm supposed to let him walk free? Forget about revenge?"

Uriah's lips curled into a chilling smile. "Not at all. Soren was right about one thing. We target his wife."

Confusion flickered across both Soren and Asher's faces. "Uriah, you heard what I said," Asher pointed out. "James is a public figure now. Going after his wife directly won't achieve much."

Uriah's smile widened, becoming almost predatory. "We don't need to resort to kidnapping, Father. We'll use a different approach. Jennifer is close friends with Harmony, a college friendship that has endured. And as far as Jennifer knows, James and Harmony's relationship is purely platonic. Imagine her reaction when we reveal the truth, supported by undeniable evidence. Her trust in James will shatter, their marriage will crumble. We'll ruin his reputation, turning his newfound fame into a weapon against him. Once his life is in shambles, he'll be at our mercy."

"Brilliant!" Soren exclaimed, clapping his hands together. "Uriah, you're a genius! I'm in awe!"

A slow smile spread across Asher's face, but it was a smile devoid of warmth, as cold and calculating as a winter wind. "And what evidence do we have? Jennifer won't believe mere accusations."

"Who said anything about accusations?" Uriah's smile turned predatory. "The moment I learned about James and Harmony, I dispatched men to follow them and document their every move. They captured everything."

Asher's smile turned genuine, a look of grim satisfaction settling on his face. He clapped Uriah on the shoulder. "You never disappoint, son. I trust you to handle this. Make James pay. Make him suffer."

"Consider it done, Father," Uriah said, his voice smooth as silk. "For Jared, I'll turn James's life into a living hell."

He lifted his teacup, taking a sip, his eyes cold and calculating. He was a viper, biding his time, waiting for the opportune moment to strike.

Uriah's phone buzzed. He glanced at it, a cruel smile spreading across his face. The message contained over twenty photos of James and Harmony, each more compromising than the last.

These were a part of the photos James had deleted. James, not being a photography enthusiast, didn't realize that the camera had an upload-to-cloud function.

When he formatted the camera, more than twenty photos had already been uploaded!
