Chapter 492 Something Feels Fishy

James thought for a moment, stopped in his tracks, and continued to hide among the crowd. He wanted to see what this man was up to.

If he was just a regular friend of Jennifer's and had no ill intentions towards her, that would be fine. But if he harbored any malicious intent towards Jennifer, James wouldn't let him off easily.

In fact, James could tell at a glance that the three individuals lying on the ground weren't sick; they were faking it. Their pale faces were due to makeup. In other words, this was a premeditated disturbance.

"Dr. Johnson is a good friend of mine. I know her character very well; she would never recklessly prescribe medication to patients. Besides, the medicines from the Hall of Benevolent Medicine are all certified by strict national standards, so there's no way they could be substandard or fake," the man said confidently. He was tall and imposing as a martial artist. His energy and spirit were far superior to ordinary people. His bright, spirited eyes exuded a particular masculine charm, attracting admiring glances from many women on the scene.

"If what you say is true, then how do you explain our family members' conditions worsening after taking medicine from Hall of Benevolent Medicine?"

"Yeah, it's not like we deliberately drank poison!" The crowd said.

A voice from the crowd said, "If you have the guts, cure them on the spot. Only then will we believe that the Hall of Benevolent Medicine isn't an illegal clinic. Otherwise, we'll call the police!"

James immediately looked towards the speaker and saw a sleazy middle-aged man with small eyes, clearly not a good person.

With his words, the previously noisy family members also started shouting, "Yeah Unless you cure the patients right now, we won't believe you're innocent. Otherwise, we'll call the police and have them shut down Hall of Benevolent Medicine."

They shouted louder and louder, their faces showing not much sadness but rather a hint of excitement and indignation.

With this, James squinted his eyes slightly.

He hadn't expected to encounter such a situation just after returning to Lindwood City. It was interesting.

Jennifer frowned. She sensed something was fishy but couldn't pinpoint exactly what it was.

"Alright! You said it!" the man said loudly. "If we cure the patients, it will prove that their illness has nothing to do with us. You must then apologize to Hall of Benevolent Medicine and Dr. Johnson!"

They all agreed.

The man then gave Jennifer a look, a hint to treat the patients, and expressed his confidence in her medical skills.

Jennifer felt something was off but didn't think too deeply about it. She nodded and began treating the three patients.

She first checked their pulses and found them quite normal, with no abnormalities, except for a slightly faster heartbeat.

"It's weird. According to their pulses, they seem healthy, not like they're sick."

Jennifer expressed her confusion, which immediately drew hostile reactions from many family members. They angrily shouted, "Hey! What do you mean by that? Are you saying we're faking illness to make things difficult for you?"

"That's outrageous! Our family members fell ill after taking medicine from the Hall of Benevolent Medicine. Now they're suffering, and instead of apologizing or compensating us, you're accusing us of faking it?"

"If that's the case, there's no need to say more. Call the police! Call the police!"

They were all very emotional, glaring angrily at Jennifer.

Jennifer, being a quiet person, dreaded such situations. She frowned and felt at a loss.

At this moment, the man stepped forward and said, "Everyone, calm down! Dr. Johnson didn't mean that. As a doctor, she certainly wants to cure the patients."

He then whispered to Jennifer, "Dr. Johnson, did you find out what illness they have?"

Jennifer shook her head and said with some difficulty, "I couldn't find out what illness they have. According to their pulses, they seem quite healthy."

The man was silent for a moment and then said, "Dr. Johnson, how about I give it a try? I'm also a doctor."

Jennifer was a bit surprised. After thinking for a moment, she said, "Then I'll trouble you, Dr. Calvin Allen."

Calvin gave Jennifer a warm smile, his eyes lingering on her. "It's no trouble at all; we're friends, after all."

Jennifer remained indifferent, giving a calm smile without responding to Calvin's words.

A hint of disappointment flashed in Calvin's eyes, but he quickly regained his composure and turned to the crowd. "I am also a member of the Hall of Benevolent Medicine. Dr. Johnson has already told me the treatment method. I will now treat the three patients. I hope that once they are cured, you will keep your word and give the Hall of Benevolent Medicine the justice it deserves!"

"Alright! If you can cure the patients, we won't hesitate to apologize!"

"Yeah, if you can't cure them, it's Hall of Benevolent Medicine's fault." Those family members said.

Calvin nodded to Jennifer and then began treating the three patients. He used traditional American medical techniques, first checking their pulses, then examining their skin color, tongues, and so on, and doing everything meticulously.

Finally, Calvin performed acupuncture on the three patients. After more than ten minutes, the three patients felt better and thanked Calvin, "Thank you, doctor. I feel much better now!"

"Yeah, I feel much better, too."

"Dr. Allen, you're truly a miracle worker."  The three patients said, showing their gratitude.

During this time, the three patients secretly wiped off the foundation on their faces, and their pale complexions returned to normal.

Everyone immediately looked at Calvin with newfound respect. The family members, in particular, shook Calvin's hand one by one, expressing their gratitude.

"It's ok. I'm also a member of the Hall of Benevolent Medicine. You should apologize to Hall of Benevolent Medicine and Dr. Johnson!" Dr. Allen said firmly. He explained that the three patients had worsened their conditions due to poor diet, which had nothing to do with Hall of Benevolent Medicine.

"Yeah, we should apologize to Hall of Benevolent Medicine!"

"Dr. Johnson, we wrongly accused you."

"Well, Dr. Johnson, we hope you won't hold it against us. I'm so sorry."

Their apologies were straightforward.

Several employees of the Hall of Benevolent Medicine breathed a sigh of relief, looking at Calvin with gratitude and admiration. Especially two young female doctors, their eyes sparkled as they looked at Calvin.

Jennifer instinctively felt something was off. First, she knew there was nothing wrong with Hall of Benevolent Medicine's medicine, and there hadn't been any medical accidents for a long time.

Then there was Calvin's sudden appearance, which felt a bit strange.

She couldn't figure out the reason. In the end, she was still quite grateful to Calvin and thanked him, "Dr. Allen, thank you so much this time."

Calvin gave a bright smile, waved his hand, and exuded a generous demeanor, making people like him even more.
