Chapter 610 Picking Up Harmony

Slayer reached out to touch Arianwen's face, but she dodged, looking at him coldly.

Slayer wasn't angry; instead, he smiled even more wickedly and said, "Ruthless, you can avoid me now, but it's useless. Any woman I set my eyes on can't escape my grasp."

Ruthless's face remained expressionless as she looked at him coldly.

Slayer didn't make things difficult for her anymore and left with a smile.

After Slayer left, Arianwen's previously cold eyes showed a hint of confusion, then returned to their icy state.

Her memory was gone, wiped clean. All she knew now was the mission: take out the target, and keep moving. Kill, repeat.

As for Slayer wanting to possess her, she didn't have much concept of it in her mind, but deep down, she was very repulsed by it.

Is James his name?

Does James seem to know me?

But why can't I remember him?

James's image appeared in Arianwen's mind, but it quickly faded. She really had no impression of James.

James stuck by Selina for ten days, and now Selina was finally heading back home.

Before she left, Selina was all clingy—anyone watching would've thought there was something going on between them.

With the mission done, James finally let out a breath. Now he could focus on digging into the Godslayer Organization!

He'd been wondering why he hadn't heard from Arianwen lately—turns out, something had gone down.

That night, it was clear Arianwen didn't recognize him at all. The Godslayer Organization must've wiped her memory clean using some shady method!

Arianwen was his friend, and he couldn't just sit by and do nothing.

After sending Selina off, James didn't immediately return to the City of Mysteries but first went back to the National Security Agency to look up information on the Godslayer Organization.

After some digging, he got a clearer picture of what he was dealing with.

The Godslayer Organization was an assassin group based around Sunlandia—super mysterious and crazy powerful. Rumor had it their leader was a fifth-stage martial arts master, or maybe even stronger!

This group wasn't just active in Sunlandia; they had operations worldwide, using advanced tactics and deep infiltration. The data suggested even Sunlandia's top brass might've been compromised, making them a seriously dangerous outfit.

Over the years, Sunlandia had lost a lot of good agents to the Godslayer Organization.

Four years ago, the NSA had a massive showdown with them, losing a ton of their best people and taking a serious hit to their strength.

Safe to say, there was some serious bad blood between the NSA and the Godslayer Organization.

After reading, James rubbed his temples and realized he might have already become a target of the Godslayer Organization.

At this moment, Rolf walked in and said earnestly to James, "James, according to our intelligence, you have been targeted by the Godslayer Organization. They will send someone to assassinate you, so be careful."

James nodded and said, "I understand."

Rolf said with some guilt, "To be honest, this time it's my fault for getting you involved. This Godslayer Organization is very evil and difficult to deal with."

After staying at the National Security Agency for another day, James set off for the City of Mysteries the next day.

As soon as James got off the plane and got into the car, ready to go back to the Smith Mansion, he suddenly received a call from Jennifer, "Honey, have you gotten off the plane?"

James said, "I'm already in the car, I'll be home in an hour."

Jennifer hurriedly said, "Don't go home yet, wait for Harmony at the airport."

Harmony is coming?

James was slightly taken aback and said, "Why is she coming?"

Jennifer rolled her eyes on the other end and said, "I invited her. Otherwise, you'd never call her. She's been complaining to me lately—says you haven't called or texted her back."

James felt awkward as hell hearing that.

"Just send someone to get her. I'm already in the car—not turning back."

Jennifer shot back, "Nope, you're going to pick her up right now, or I'm done talking to you."

James was at a loss for words.

He rubbed his temples, wondering what kind of wife he'd ended up with—someone who was way too eager for him to get along with her friend. It was downright weird.

Over the phone, Jennifer threw in some not-so-subtle threats, leaving him no choice but to tell the driver to turn around and head back to pick up Harmony.

Honestly, it had been a while since he'd last seen Harmony. Their history together was almost as complicated as his with Jennifer.

When he returned to the airport, he suddenly realized that Jennifer hadn't told him what time Harmony's flight was or when she would arrive.

Just as he was about to call back, he saw a familiar figure coming out of the exit. It was none other than Harmony.

Harmony was now wearing tight leather pants, a T-shirt, sunglasses, and dragging a suitcase, looking very stylish.

She attracted a lot of attention.

Next to her was a good-looking man, chatting and laughing with her as they walked out.

This man looked like a wealthy person, and not of low status.

But James didn't recognize him. Probably just some rich kid from a lesser-known family, nowhere near his league.

It had been a while since he'd last seen Harmony, and she looked even more stunning than before. There was a new air of elegance about her, and her eyes had this fierce determination. Her charm was off the charts.

"Ms. Brown, where are you going? I can give you a ride. I know the City of Mysteries like the back of my hand," the guy said smoothly, his good looks working overtime to charm her.

Harmony shook her head. "Thanks, but I've got someone picking me up."

His face fell a little, clearly not ready to let go. He gave her another once-over, clearly smitten. "Ms. Brown, I feel like we've got a real connection here. Can I get your number?"

Harmony was about to respond when she spotted James in the crowd. Her face lit up, and she flashed a bright smile. "My ride's here. Gotta run."

Without waiting for a response, Harmony quickened her pace towards James.

The young man saw that Harmony didn't give him any face, and his expression immediately darkened.

He was a famous rich second generation in the City of Mysteries, with a deep background. It was rare for him to take a liking to Harmony, and she didn't give him any face, which made him very angry.

But he wasn't about to let it slide. He followed after her, and when he saw the guy waiting for her was some average-looking dude in bargain-bin clothes, he smirked and strode over to Harmony with confidence.
