Chapter 510 James's Counterattack

Tobias looked at James with a mischievous grin.

A couple of days ago at the dinner table, he had already taken a dislike to James. Tobias couldn't fathom out how James managed to marry a stunning beauty like Jennifer.

Tobias never imagined he was so wealthy and had never been with a woman as stunning as Jennifer. It amazed him that James could freely indulge in such pleasures with her.

Tobias was upset and felt it was unfair!

To think, he had met Jennifer first, back when she was still a little girl following him around and calling him brother. Now, a few years later, that little girl had grown into a stunning beauty!

Deep down, Tobias even believed that Jennifer was his, and that James had stolen her from him, an unforgivable crime.

If James were someone like Brent, a big shot, he might have accepted it. But James was loser, which made him feel even more unbalanced.

Tobias had made up his mind to find a way to embarrass and humiliate James, to vent his anger.

Originally, he thought James wouldn't be foolish enough to actually spend $300,000 to come here. He planned to find trouble for James later when he had the chance. But now that James was really here, he wouldn't let him off so easily.

James knew exactly what kind of dirty thoughts he had. He had seen many suckers like him, thinking they were something special but actually just fools. James couldn't be bothered to deal with such idiots.

Tonight, James had important matters to deal with.

"I'm going to find a friend, Mr. Dobbins. I won't be staying," James said calmly.

The more Tobias saw James like this, the more Tobias thought James was scared and refused to let him go. He said, "James, come on, stop bragging. What friends could you possibly have here? Do you know what this place is? This is the grand auction of Starlight Province. Every participant here is a billionaire. What kind of friends could you possibly have?"

Tobias had already decided to strip James of his dignity and mock him.

Beside Tobias were several wealthy heirs, who scrutinized James and concluded that he was merely a small-time entrepreneur with little wealth, attempting to mingle with influential figures. Deep down, they held a profound disdain for such small business owners and would mercilessly mock them whenever the opportunity arose. It was a pastime they found quite entertaining.

"Hey, Mr. Dobbins, is this man your friend? When did your standards drop so low that you started befriending small-timers?" said a fat man. He was short and very fat, especially his belly, which looked like he was pregnant. His suit was about to burst, making him look like a ball.

He held a wine glass, trying to appear sophisticated, but it was a ridiculous and awkward imitation.

Tobias sneered, "PZ One, don't talk nonsense. Do you think I'm that low? I wouldn't be friends with a small-timer like him. And you're mistaken; he's not a small-timer. The $300,000 entrance fee this time probably came from his wife."

Then he maliciously asked James, "James, did you really get the $300,000 entrance fee from Jennifer? Can your little clinic even make $300,000 in a year?"

His tone was full of disdain and contempt for James.

With this, the other wealthy heirs burst into laughter. "Come on! He had to ask his wife for $300,000? That's pathetic!"

"Yeah, $300,000 is just a night's expense at the bar for us."

"Interesting, who said a night's expense? I spent over a million dollars at the bar last night. $300,000 is just the price of a few bottles of wine."

"Mr. Dobbins, how did you end up knowing such a loser?"

They mocked James without any regard for his dignity.

James frowned, looking at them helplessly. He was just keeping a low profile, so why did fools always come to provoke him?

Tobias felt delighted hearing his companions' mockery. Mocking James alone felt lacking, but now that others joined in, it was much more satisfying.

Especially seeing James not daring to say a word, he thought James was scared.

"Hey, don't say that. He has big ambitions. Let me tell you a secret: he's here to meet Mr. Lewis!" Tobias said mockingly.

James immediately laughed and said, "Tobias, you look quite like a clown. I think you could play one perfectly."

Tobias's face changed instantly, glaring at James furiously. "What did you say? Say it again, and I'll kill you! Do you know who I am? I make more money in a day than you do in a year! I could crush you with my wealth! You scoundrel, I'm insulting you out of respect, and you dare to insult me back? Are you looking for death?"

Tobias had a violent temper.

In Tobias's view, someone like James should just cower and take the insults. Even a single retort was a crime. Now, James dared to call him a clown, which was a capital offense!

Tobias decided to humiliate James even more, to make this loser feel so ashamed that he would leave on his own.

"Idiot." James replied disdainfully, then walked past him towards Michael.

But Tobias, in his rage, wouldn't let James go. He immediately reached out to grab James's shoulder, ready to make a move. "Don't go! Kneel and apologize!"

A cold light flashed in James's eyes. As Tobias's hand touched his shoulder, James swiftly grabbed Tobias's hand and took him down. "Tobias, if you wanna die, it's a good chance to send you on your way."

Tobias, in pain, was bewildered. He hadn't expected this useless man, James, to dare fight back. This was really asking for death!

"James, you're looking for death! If you have the guts, break my hand. Let's see if you dare... " Before he could finish, Tobias started screaming in pain.
