Chapter 332: You, Don't Even Think About It
James hung up the phone and let out a long sigh, rooted in the spot.
He got what Edwin was saying, bu, he was stuck between a rock and a hard place.
Honestly, in the five years with the Johnson family, he kept his distance from Jennifer. Never touched her, not even a kiss. Even when things got better between them and she started warming up to him, he still held back. He knew if he crossed that line, it’d mess things up for both of them.
A sudden pang of regret coursed through James. Why couldn’t he just chill after the five-year mark and stay in a low profile?
He should’ve kept it cool until the Smith family came to get him.
If he had, things wouldn’t be such a mess now!
Suddenly, he felt like lighting up a cigarette to shake off these bad vibes. However, he couldn't find any cigarettes, which frustrated him even more.
A voice came from behind, "You look all kinds of messed up."
It was Arianwen, sneaking up behind James with her usual robotic, blank face.
Hearing her, James had a lightbulb moment. Why smoke when he could blow off steam by sparring with Arianwen?
Arianwen was about to say something nice to her moody master when she saw James turn around, eyes lit up like a kid on Christmas. She got a bit freaked out, "What’s your deal?"
James grinned, "Arianwen, how could I forget you? You’re the perfect stress ball. Let’s spend some fun time together!"
Arianwen’s face turned red with anger and embarrassment, glaring at James, "NO WAY!"
She was fuming. How could her master be such a creep? She was a maid, not some punching bag for his frustrations. No way she’d let him get away with that.
Just thinking about it gave Arianwen the chills, feeling super grossed out.
Seeing her so worked up, James was puzzled. "What’s wrong? Don't you like it as you did it before?"
Arianwen got even madder, shaking with rage, "Master, you’re such a perv. Forget it. I’m not doing that with you!"
With that, she turned around, face red with anger, and instead of heading back to her room, she jumped off the balcony.
It was six floors up. Any normal person would’ve freaked out, but for Arianwen, it was no biggie.
James was left in the room, totally frustrated. He hadn’t said anything weird but wanted some fun time with Arianwen to blow off steam. How did he piss her off? Wait!
Suddenly, his eyes widened, and he slapped his forehead.
'Oh crap, does Arianwen think I wanted to hook up with her?' It dawned on James.
James let out a bitter chuckle, thinking about Arianwen's reaction. She totally got the wrong idea.
'Do I really come off that creepy?' James wondered. Besides, with Arianwen's personality, even in bed, she'd probably be like a robot, just staring blankly and not making a sound, right?
The thought was so weird it freaked him out, and he quickly stopped himself from going down that rabbit hole.
Meanwhile, Arianwen was definitely tripping over James' intentions. Feeling all kinds of unsettled, she bolted to the mountains to clear her head after jumping from the sixth floor.
No matter how much she meditated, she couldn't shake off James' excited and agitated face from her mind.
How could her master think like that? It was so sneaky!
Just imagining those scenes made her heart race, her pale face turning red with embarrassment.
But James was her master, and she was supposed to follow his wishes.
'No way, that's too gross. Why do such nasty things even exist?' Arianwen thought. Just thinking about it made her sick!
She decided not to go back tonight, staying in the mountains, meditating under a big tree, slowly finding her calm.
Meanwhile, James was in a worse state. He never meant that way, but she just interpreted his words.
So, James was even more frustrated.
With no other choice, he took a cold shower for half an hour to cool down.
Then he went back to his room and hit the hay.
The next day, in a private room of a five-star hotel in Lindwood City, Edwin and a bunch of well-known doctors from Serenity Province walked in and saw some guests already there.
These people were certainly no ordinary folks, each one giving off a strong vibe, especially an old man sitting in the center with a presence that made it hard to breathe. It was obvious he was a big deal. Plus, he had a military aura, like he'd seen some serious action.
To his left was a young guy with thick eyebrows, tall and confident.
To his right was Joe. Normally, Joe had a strong presence, but in front of this old man, he was totally thrown into the shade.
Besides Joe, several leaders from Lindwood City were also showing a lot of respect to the old man.
Edwin immediately noticed the old man as he walked in. He quickly apologized, "Mr. Jenkins, sorry, got held up by traffic and I'm late."
The old man smiled and waved it off, "Dr. Wheeler, no worries. I'm just grateful you came to see me. Please, have a seat."
Edwin, not one to be uptight, relaxed when he saw the old man didn't mind his tardiness and quickly sat down.
The doctors with Edwin, usually treated with great respect by wealthy folks, were all super nervous and deferential in front of this old man.
