Chapter 135: You're Not Drunk?!
Curtis frowned. He hadn't expected Terry also to be interested in Jennifer, and he was immediately displeased.
After all, he had once loved Jennifer deeply.
But then he thought that Jennifer had betrayed him. She would rather be with someone like James than stay with him. Why should he feel sorry for Jennifer? Anyway, his main goal tonight was to get revenge on Jennifer and fulfill his own desires. What happened to Jennifer afterward had nothing to do with him. Besides, after he was done with her, he could hand her over to Terry. Not only would he save half a million dollars, but he could also get back at her more thoroughly, right?
Understanding this, Curtis smiled. "I didn't expect this side of you. Since you've asked, how could I refuse?"
Terry was delighted and patted Curtis on the shoulder, and the two of them laughed lewdly.
Curtis took the key card for room 808, whistling, feeling victory within reach. He hadn't been this happy in a long time.
Ever since that time when he was humiliated by James, a shadow had been cast over his heart, one he couldn't shake off. Whenever he had free time, his mind would uncontrollably drift back to the immense humiliation he suffered at James's hands. He didn't blame Stanley; he only blamed James. James could have come out earlier, but he didn't. He just watched as Stanley humiliated Curtis. Especially at the end, when James said they weren't friends, the look on his face made Curtis furious every time he thought about it!
It was like a curse. He could only throw himself into his work, working tirelessly to forget about it.
Under such intense work, his company achieved great success, and he became an outstanding entrepreneur.
Now, as he planned his revenge, he realized that half the pleasure of revenge came from James. He wanted to ravage Jennifer! And he wanted to do it right in front of James, to make James feel that same sense of despair!
Curtis stood in front of room 808. He wasn't in a hurry to go in. The night was long, and there was plenty of time. The surveillance here had been disabled, so there would be no evidence left behind. After he had sex with Jennifer, he would record their encounter. If he had the record, he would be sure that Jennifer wouldn't turn him in to the police.
"You guys go in and find a way to wake James up. I want him to watch as I ravage his wife," Curtis said with a wild smile.
Terry gave Curtis a thumbs-up. "Curtis, you really know how to play!"
"Let's go in and wake James up. To make him drunk, I even pretended to flatter this bastard," Terry said, thinking about how he had to act so submissively to a useless person, even pretending to be his close friend. It made him feel sick.
Terry was the first to walk into James's room, planning to beat James up first.
The people who had toasted and flattered James earlier followed Terry in, sharing the same thoughts.
They entered the room and saw James lying on the bed, laughing. The last person closed the door, rubbing his hands together, ready to vent his frustration.
Terry walked over, grabbed James's clothes, and was about to slap him. "You useless piece of trash, damn you!"
However, before Terry could finish his sentence, his eyes suddenly widened as if he had seen a ghost. He let go of James and screamed, "You're not drunk?"
Just a moment ago, James was sleeping like a log, but now he suddenly opened his eyes, staring at Terry like a zombie, which startled Terry.
Not just Terry but everyone else in the room was also shocked. They all thought James was passed out drunk and couldn't possibly wake up, but here he was, wide awake with his eyes wide open, scaring them all.
In reality, James wasn't drunk at all; he was just pretending to see what they were up to.
"What’s the matter, Terry? Are you disappointed to see that I'm not drunk?" James stood up calmly, smiling at Terry. His eyes were clear, more awake than ever.
Terry wasn't stupid; he immediately guessed that James had known his plan.
"You were pretending to be asleep?" Terry's face darkened, and the others also glared at James with hostility, feeling tricked.
James glanced at everyone, did a quick calculation, and said, "Three seconds."
"What did you say?"
Terry was annoyed by James's calm demeanor.
Facing several of them, James showed no fear, only a mocking smile, as if they were the prey.
He thought James was putting on an act, and he hated people like that the most!
James smiled and said, "I said it would only take me three seconds to knock all of you down."
Terry and the others immediately burst into laughter.
"Did I hear that right? He said he could take us all down in three seconds?"
"This guy must be crazy, thinking he's Batman or something."
"Don't you think it's more fun this way? The more arrogant he is, the more he would suffer then."
"That's true."
They started mocking James.
They all thought James was an idiot. Who would try to show off when outnumbered? It was sheer stupidity.
So they laughed heartily, finding the situation even more amusing.
"James, I really admire you. Your wife is about to be slept with by someone else, and you can still laugh. No wonder they call you a loser. I think you're not just a loser but an idiot," Terry said mockingly. He wasn't in a hurry; after all, Curtis was going first, and he had to wait for his turn. In the meantime, he could have some fun with James.
James's face darkened. He had guessed right; these people were indeed after Jennifer.
"Terry, my wife and I have never wronged you. Aren't you afraid of my retaliation for doing this?" James frowned.
However, Terry laughed heartily, not taking James seriously at all. "Retaliation? Who's going to retaliate against me? You? James, you must think too highly of yourself."
"Mr. Campbell, why waste so many words on him? Just beat him up and be done with it," said a hot-tempered man, cracking his knuckles impatiently. He was a fitness fanatic, often hitting the punching bag, and had absolute confidence in his fighting skills. His violent nature made him eager to beat up James.
"Alright, don't get too far. Don't let him die. Curtis is still waiting for us to bring him over to humiliate him." Terry laughed wantonly, not noticing the intense murderous intent flashing in James's eyes.
"Did Curtis send you?" James's tone was icy, making people shiver.
