Chapter 315 The Perry Family Engagement Banquet

This time, the Perry family's engagement bash was off the charts. Pretty much everyone who mattered in Lindwood City showed up, except for the Brown family.

Ever since James messed up Jared, Uriah'd been on the rise, becoming the top dog to inherit the Perry family. Asher'd been passing a lot of the heavy lifting to Uriah too.

In just a couple of weeks, Uriah'd been killing it. Even the folks who were Team Jared were now on board with him.

Even Asher had to admit, Uriah'd got more game than Jared. In just a couple of weeks, not only did he nail his tasks, but he also locked down an engagement with Charlotte Flores. This dude's skills blew Asher's mind, making him super happy. Soon, he could hand over the reins to Uriah and chill out.

The Flores family was also a big deal in Serenity Province. Their business might not be as loaded as the Perry family's, but their connections and heritage? Way better.

Teaming up with the Flores family would be a win-win.

Plus, with the Flores family's help, the Perry family could totally crush the Brown family!

So, this engagement party had to be epic, packed with guests. This would flex their muscles, making the fence-sitters join the Perry family, and also freak out the Brown family. Once the Browns got scared and started making moves, they'd slip up. Then, the Perry family could take them down easily.

This was Asher and Uriah's master plan, covering all bases—except for the wildcard, James.

"Uriah, you really nailed it this time, snagging Charlotte. I'm stoked." In the study, Asher gave Uriah a hearty pat on the shoulder, grinning wide.

Uriah grinned back, "Dad, don't sweat it. I'll keep grinding and won't let you down."

"That's what I like to hear. I have full faith in you." Asher smiled, then his face turned dark as he said, "It's a damn shame about Jared, getting wrecked by that punk James. Now he's all messed up in the head! It pisses me off. I'm a big shot in Lindwood City, yet that punk James got one over on me!"

Hearing this, Uriah's face also turned grim. He said, "Yeah, it's a real shame about Jared. If we had teamed up, we could've taken the family to new heights."

Asher clenched his fist, his face stormy as he said, "I found out that punk James didn't die; he made it and got out of the hospital recently. Uriah, I don't ask for much. You gotta catch James, no matter what, and make him pay for what he did to Jared! Got it?"

Asher's words were like steel, his voice dripping with rage and hate, his eyes bloodshot.

Truth was, between his two sons, Uriah and Jared, he loved Jared the most because Jared was just like him. Jared was also his firstborn, the one he poured the most love into.

That was why, even though he knew Uriah was more capable than Jared, he always kept Uriah in check and handed the main power to Jared.

As long as Jared showed even a bit of promise, with all those resources at his fingertips, Uriah couldn't outshine him.

Thinking about Jared, Asher felt a sharp pain in his chest, and his hatred for James just kept growing.

Uriah was no dummy; he got where Asher was coming from but played it cool. Sometimes, acting clueless was the smart move.

He didn't hold a grudge against Asher. He wasn't too hung up on it. Even though he and Jared butted heads a lot, it was just their brotherly way of bonding. Deep down, he saw Jared as his big bro. So, when Jared got messed up, even though he kept a poker face, he had a burning hatred for James.

"Dad, you don't need to spell it out. I'm gonna get revenge for Jared. James is already on my hit list. Once this engagement party's over, I'm gonna hunt him down, capture him, and make him suffer in front of Jared!" Uriah said this with a calm face, but if you looked closer, you'd see the coldness and the murderous vibe in his eyes, filling the room and making Asher feel a bit freaked out.

"That's what I wanted to hear. With you saying that, I'm at ease! Go ahead and do it. After this engagement party, I'll hand over more power to you. The Perry family's future is in your hands." Asher said, looking at Uriah with hope.

He was getting old, and it was time to pass the torch and let Uriah take the lead.

Hearing this, Uriah, usually cool and collected, couldn't hide his excitement, standing tall. "Dad, I won't let you down!"

"That's the spirit!" Asher said, beaming.

Meanwhile, James was rolling up to the Perry family's estate in Kieran's ride.

Gotta admit, the Perry family was loaded. They had this swanky estate right in the city center, super fancy and grand.

By now, a ton of people had already shown up, all in their luxury cars.

Kieran's high-end ride, which was pretty slick on the streets, looked kinda basic here.

"The Perry family is seriously rich. This estate must be worth a few billion now," Kieran said, genuinely impressed and a bit envious.

James chuckled. This kind of estate was nice for Lindwood City, but compared to the Smith family's, it was like a backwoods outhouse.

Kieran noticed the smirk on James's face and got even more curious about who James really was. Of course, he kept his curiosity to himself and didn't dare ask. James was becoming more and more of a mystery and kinda intimidating.

Five days ago, he might've had some sneaky thoughts about James, but now, he'd totally ditched that idea.

Before getting out of the car, Kieran couldn't help but ask, "James, are you really gonna introduce me to Uriah?"

James gave him a pat on the shoulder with a knowing smile and said, "Don't sweat it, Uriah's definitely gonna remember your name tonight."
