Chapter 169 Crossing the Line

Immediately, Harmony noticed his inappropriate gaze. She looked down and realized she was exposed. Her face turned red with embarrassment, and she felt a surge of panic.
"Pervert!" she spat, instinctively moving to cover her chest. But when she saw James's awkward and uncomfortable expression, she paused. Her eyes flickered with a hint of mischief, and she deliberately assumed a confrontational stance, slamming the table and glaring at James. "Hey, where were you looking just now?"
She stood up, leaning on the table, her body moving closer as she looked down at James.
"Uh..." James looked up, only to find Harmony's neckline right in front of him. From his angle, he had a perfect view of her cleavage, a sight so grand it almost made his nose bleed. He quickly averted his gaze, shaking his head and saying, "I wasn't looking at anything, really."
At his reaction, Harmony's lips curled up again, her heart racing with a sense of vengeful thrill.
'Okay, James, didn't you insult me yesterday? I'll make you fall for me!' she thought.
Putting on a fierce expression, she said, "You liar! You were staring at my chest! I never thought you were that kind of person!"
"This is..." James felt frustrated. Harmony must have lost her mind; it was clearly she who exposed herself to him.
James looked up again and saw that Harmony's neckline was even more open. This was clearly an attempt to seduce him.
"How can you do this to me!" Harmony pressed on, as if she had found something amusing.
"Harmony, I don't think I've done anything to you, have I?" James couldn't help but said.
Harmony snorted, "What else do you want to do to me? James, you really are a pervert!"
James was exasperated, a vein throbbing on his forehead. "How did I become a pervert?"
"If you're not a pervert, why would your eyes keep staring at my chest?" Harmony pointed at her chest with a look of disdain, though she found it quite amusing.
Strangely, she didn't feel the usual disgust she had towards other men. Instead, teasing James felt fun. Even with Jared, she had never felt comfortable enough to expose herself like this.
She quickly attributed this feeling to the fact that James had already seen her body during that treatment. She felt at ease, thinking that since he had already seen her naked, a few more glances at her chest didn't matter.
James watched as she pointed at her chest, a sight that almost made him nosebleed. He couldn't understand if the woman in front of him was really the Harmony he knew.
This behavior was so unlike Harmony that it left James bewildered and speechless.
Seeing him silent, Harmony thought he was scared and became even more provocative. She walked around the table, stood in front of James, and looked down at him.
James gulped, his heart racing. Harmony's seductive behavior was overwhelming.
"What do you want?" James asked nervously.
Harmony didn't answer. Instead, she leaned forward slightly, hooking James's chin with her right index finger, lifting his face.
James felt he was being teased.
He couldn't understand Harmony's intentions.
"You better explain yourself." Harmony's expression remained icy, like an eternal glacier, but her actions were completely out of character.
This stark contrast took James a moment to process.
At the same time, the strange emotion in his heart deepened.
"Explain what?" James tried to stay calm, realizing Harmony was deliberately provoking him, likely to get back at him for yesterday.
'What a petty woman.' he exclaimed inwardly.
Harmony lowered her head, her gaze sharp as lightning, closing the distance between them until only eight inches remained. At such a short distance, they could clearly smell each other's scent, a scent that quickened the heartbeat and filled the air with ambiguity.
Unconsciously, James's breathing quickened.
"Don't play dumb. You know exactly what I'm talking about," Harmony said fiercely. Despite her harsh tone, her eyes showed more excitement and nervousness than actual anger.“

Facing Harmony's pressure, with them being so close, and Harmony's incredibly beautiful face, her features as if sculpted by the finest artisan, James almost wanted to kiss her red lips.
"I don’t know," James said, playing dumb. He wanted to see how far Harmony would take this.
Deep down, he also wanted to see how far Harmony would go.
Harmony continued to press down, closing the already short distance to an even closer proximity!
They could see each other's pores.
Their breaths mingled on each other's faces, the atmosphere growing more ambiguous, and their hearts beating faster.
James was still sitting in his chair, but his body was tense, his hands clenched into fists under the table.
Similarly, Harmony's heart was not calm. Her breathing became uncontrollably rapid, hitting James's face.
Now, if there were an external force, just a slight push, their lips would meet.
"You don't understand? I suggest you explain yourself or don't blame me for doing something excessive," Harmony continued fiercely, but her expression was no longer fierce at all. Instead, it had a different kind of provocation. At such a close distance, James only needed to lean forward slightly to kiss her.
Looking at her luscious red lips, the impulse in James's heart grew stronger.
Harmony noticed the desire in his eyes, her heart pounding faster, her legs trembling slightly.
But in the end, James held back.
"I really don't know. Maybe you could give me a hint?" James shook his head with a bitter smile, his heart struggling and anticipating what Harmony's so-called excessive action would be.
