Chapter 596 The Fifth Stage of the Warrior!
James was indeed different from other men. As a peak fourth-stage warrior, his body was hundreds of times tougher than the average guy. And yeah, that didn't just apply to fighting. He could handle a long night with multiple partners without breaking a sweat.
But that's also a peoblem—James was too much for Jennifer to handle. If he wasn't fully satisfied, it'd be a bummer for him.
Feeling James's frustration, Jennifer bit her lip and dropped a bombshell: "James, I can't keep up with you alone. Next time, I'll bring Harmony. She'll totally wear you out!"
What?
James was stunned when he heard this.
"What are you talking about!" he snapped.
But his heart was pounding. Harmony was gorgeous, and she was Jennifer's best friend. Plus, she had a thing for him. If it actually happened…
Nope. Nope. Nope. That train of thought was way too dangerous. He needed to shut it down, fast.
"Your heart's racing, James. You're actually thinking about Harmony, you jerk!" Jennifer spun around, pinning him down and grabbing his neck, glaring daggers at him.
Of course, she wasn't actually trying to hurt him—just putting on a fierce act.
She seemed to forget she was completely naked, and the way she was pressing down on him made James's eyes go wide.
Jennifer had become a real woman, but she still got shy around James. She quickly ducked under the covers, hiding her flushed face.
"Are you mad? I really don't have those kinds of thoughts about Harmony, I swear!" James hurriedly explained when he saw Jennifer turn her back to him and stop talking.
He wasn't lying. He didn't have those kinds of thoughts about Harmony. If he did, it was just a man's natural appreciation for a beautiful woman, not love.
Jennifer took James's hand and placed it on her lower abdomen, softly saying, "James, I actually want you to have thoughts about her."
James was puzzled.
"Why?" James asked.
Jennifer turned around to face James and softly said, "Harmony really loves you. I know how painful unrequited love can be. And I really can't satisfy you alone. If I can't make you happy, I'd rather share you with someone else. You know what they say—sometimes you gotta make sacrifices to live your best life."
James couldn't believe these words were coming from Jennifer. He was speechless, not knowing how to respond.
Deep down, Jennifer had another thought she didn't voice. She knew a man like James—so exceptional—would never be tied to just one woman. And if she had to share him, she'd rather it be with Harmony.
If it were Harmony, it wouldn't feel as wrong. In fact, she might even be a little excited about it.
Seeing Jennifer's expression, James could tell she was serious and not lying. His heart couldn't calm down.
"Jennifer," James said with a helpless smile, "Do you really think I'm that promiscuous?"
Jennifer shook her head and said, "No, I actually don't mind you being with Harmony. And it's not good for you if you can't fully enjoy yourself. James, I'm serious. You should consider it. Harmony is really great."
James was speechless.
It felt absurd that Jennifer was encouraging him to have a mistress.
James didn't respond. When Jennifer had recovered enough, he silenced her with a kiss, leading to another round of lovemaking. This time, Jennifer surrendered even faster.
James suddenly realized that he might be a bit too vigorous. This was a tragedy.
The next day, Dennis and Kaitlyn boarded the Smith family's private jet and returned to Lindwood City. Of course, this time, James had specially assigned family experts to protect them secretly. Now that his status had changed, he had to ensure the safety of those around him to avoid any worries.
That said, he figured Mason and Yosef weren't dumb enough to try using Dennis and Kaitlyn as leverage now that he was back in the Smith family fold.
A few days later, James took off from the City of Mysteries and headed to Starlight State. He was now a regular instructor at the National Security Agency, teaching classes almost every week.
Even though he didn't need the NSA's protection anymore, he'd made a promise to Rolf, and he wasn't about to break it. Plus, it was a solid way to build up his network and connections—why pass that up?
This time, he traveled to Starlight State low-key, flying alone.
The higher his level, the less he liked to show off. Keeping a low profile was the best approach.
After getting off the plane, James immediately felt a powerful gaze from afar, making his nerves feel like they were being pricked by needles, causing all his hair to stand on end.
James's previously relaxed mood instantly tensed up, and his expression became serious.
That gaze had appeared too mysteriously. Even at his current level, he couldn't discern where it came from!
Most importantly, the strength displayed by the other party was definitely beyond the fourth stage of a warrior, at least at the fifth stage!
James's heart surged with excitement.
At his current level, James knew just how tough it was to hit that stage. He'd even started to think the fourth stage was the peak for humans. Now it seemed his perspective had been way too narrow—there was definitely a fifth stage.
But who the hell could it be?
Someone from Mason and Yosef?
No way! James instantly ruled that out.
If the Percy or Lewis families had someone that terrifying, they'd have taken him out a long time ago. Those families wouldn't be stuck in their current positions.
So who was it?
Suddenly, James's heart skipped a beat—Neil!
The only person he'd recently crossed was Neil.
Had Neil somehow broken through to the fifth stage?
Unlikely. More like Neil, after losing to James, couldn't handle the L and went running to his master.
James was sharp. In less than two seconds, he'd pieced it together.
Yep, that look just now? That was the Sword God.
