Chapter 644 James's Change
As the folks from the Western Division were about to leave, the severely injured Sidney was just about to speak when James let out a cold laugh and said, "You think you can just walk away after attacking my people? Not a chance."
Before he even finished speaking, James vanished from his spot, turning into a blur as he charged into the ranks of the Western Division.
With a loud bang, James landed a punch that shattered the arm of an assassin with third-level strength.
"Ah!"
The man screamed in agony and collapsed, unable to get up. James sensed the surrounding enemies closing in on him and smirked, saying lightly, "You guys are just too slow!"
Bang, bang, bang, bang.
James effortlessly dodged their attacks, taking down one person with each punch. In an instant, the agents from the National Security Agency were left in shock. They knew James was formidable, but they hadn't expected him to be this powerful.
Seeing James single-handedly decimating their ranks, Elton furiously shouted at the four fourth-level experts beside him, "What are you standing around for? Stop him!"
Elton charged at James first, and Sidney, seeing this, also shouted, "Follow the Chief Instructor, attack!"
The National Security Agency agents roared and charged forward. Just as James finished off one enemy, he sensed two more killing intents coming from behind. He twisted his body, dodging the attacks and stepping back a few paces. But right then, the leader of the Western Division and another person surrounded him, blocking his path.
"Kill him!"
Elton commanded coldly, and four powerful auras erupted, attacking James simultaneously.
Facing four fourth-level experts, James didn't dare to be careless. He unleashed his thick Qi, and his footwork became elusive.
With a swift move, James dodged an attack and quickly grabbed the wrist of one of the fourth-level experts, crushing it with a snap.
"Ah! Bastard!"
Even for a fourth-level expert, having a bone shattered was excruciatingly painful. The expert screamed and tried to attack James with his other hand, but James spun around and struck his back with a palm.
The expert's body was sent flying in the direction James had come from, right into the path of Elton and the other three's attacks.
Boom, boom, boom!
Three unrestrained attacks landed on the Western Division expert, and he spat out blood before his body was flung away, lifeless.
With one fourth-level expert down, Elton and the other three's faces turned grim. James reappeared in the distance, a satisfied smile on his lips.
In the past, dealing with these four would have been a struggle for him. But James had become much stronger after deciphering that stone door. The seemingly simple stone door was actually quite complex, set up using special techniques.
James had studied such techniques during his time with the Smith family, but they weren't easy to master. With the decline of Astrology, there were few remaining masters, so James had only memorized some things from books.
However, the techniques used on that stone door were just right for James to verify against his previous knowledge, significantly advancing his skills in Astrology.
Whether facing Elton or the four fourth-level experts, James's seemingly simple footwork was meticulously planned, showcasing the mysterious power of Astrology.
"Looks like I need to study Astrology more closely," James muttered, his mind drifting to a place called Thunder Mountain. If there was any perfect legacy of Astrology left in the world, it would be there.
With these thoughts, James lifted his head slightly and said to Elton and the others, "Come at me together."
He began walking towards them, his steps slow but each one making his figure seem more elusive.
When Elton saw the ground ripple like water under James's steps, his eyes widened in shock. "This... Astrology!"
As Elton exclaimed, James's voice rang out, "Too late to realize now."
With James's final step, the air around them became turbulent. Their Qi grew uncontrollable, forcing them to focus on suppressing it.
"Wow, Astrology really is something," James thought. This was a small formation he had read about but never mastered until now. Its purpose was to trap targets in a maze-like state, making everything inside increasingly chaotic, potentially leading to their explosive demise.
James gathered Qi at his fingertip and pointed at the void, softly saying, "Explode!"
With a thunderous boom, an explosion like a giant missile erupted, engulfing the area where Elton and his men stood. Dust and smoke filled the air, rising high into the sky.
"Ugh!"
Sounds of blood being coughed up came from the smoke, and a battered figure emerged, dragging another near-dead person. It was Elton, holding a severely injured fourth-level expert from the Western Division. The expert was covered in blood, barely breathing.
Elton himself was in terrible shape, his blood-red robe in tatters, his body covered in wounds, coughing up blood.
"I'll remember what happened today!" Elton spat out blood, which turned into a mist that enveloped him. When the mist cleared, both he and the fourth-level expert were gone.
"Escaped, huh? Even if you did, you're pretty much done for," James muttered.
Sidney, having recovered somewhat, rushed over, staring at the massive crater left by the explosion. "Chief, what was that? How is it so powerful?"
