Chapter 602 The Assassin Appears

James accompanied the princess everywhere, feeling quite bored, but at the same time, his mood relaxed a lot.

He hadn't had such fun in a long time. Next time he had the chance, he planned to take Jennifer out for some fun too. It seemed like Jennifer had never been abroad, so they could go on a trip.

Later, James learned that the princess had traveled all the way to Sunlandia to chase a celebrity. He was speechless for a moment, especially since the celebrity she was chasing was a young male star who looked very frail.

This made James feel both amused and helpless.

Then James found out that this male star was signed under Lisa's company, which made him feel even more peculiar.

"You don't need to protect me anymore. Go back to the villa and wait for me," the princess said impatiently to James.

James shook his head and said, "Sorry, my task is to ensure your safety."

Rose said disdainfully, "That's ridiculous. With your skills, can you really protect the princess?"

Gray said, "Look, kiddo, just go back. The three of us have got this covered. Nothing's gonna happen on our watch. You clearly don't wanna tag along, so go chill at the villa. We won't rat you out to your boss."

James smiled but said nothing, continuing to follow them.

The princess found James annoying, thinking he always looked lazy and was an eyesore. She had never seen such a laid-back agent! Seeing James made her feel that Sunlandia was being dismissive. As a princess, when had she ever been treated with such disregard?

"I have a suggestion for you. If you're not satisfied with me, you can request my superior to replace me," James said.

The princess suddenly realized, "Yeah, why didn't I think of that?"

She immediately called Zaiden, "Call the leaders of Sunlandia right away and ask them to send another agent to protect me. I'm very dissatisfied with this agent named James!"

Not long after, Zaiden called back and said, "Honorable Princess, the leaders of Sunlandia told me that this agent is one of their best. They currently don't have anyone better than James to protect you."

"What? This guy is Sunlandia's best agent?" The princess raised her voice in anger, looking at James. She couldn't see what was so excellent about him! She concluded that Sunlandia was really being dismissive and not taking her safety seriously!

Fortunately, her visit to Sunlandia was a secret, not widely publicized, known only to a few leaders in Sunlandia. Plus, with Gray, Rose, and Tom, three skilled protectors, she wouldn't be in much danger.

Fine, she would endure it!

The princess hung up the phone angrily, glared at James, and then went to attend the concert.

Speaking of the concert, her eyes lit up again. This time, she had used her connections in Sunlandia to get a few VIP tickets, allowing her to see her idol up close. She was so happy.

Even though she was from Frostreach, her taste was all Sunlandia—especially when it came to guys. She had a thing for the soft, polished types, and lately, she'd been obsessed with this pop star named Kevin. She'd traveled all this way just to catch his concert.

If her people back home found out their princess was fangirling over some Sunlandia pretty boy, they'd probably lose their minds.

Honestly, James was surprised too. He took one look at Kevin's photo and thought, meh. The guy was average at best. A face full of plastic surgery. That guy had more work done than a Hollywood starlet.

That such a male star could have so many fans only showed that young people's thinking was too novel nowadays. As an older person, James couldn't keep up with the times.

To be honest, this was James's first time attending a concert. He roughly scanned the audience and found that there were quite a lot of people, filling about two-thirds of the large stadium, roughly ten thousand people. Most of them were young girls.

James felt very bored and was about to close his eyes to rest for a while when he suddenly focused his eyes, his lips curling into a meaningful smile.

They had arrived.

Experts were targeting the princess!

And there was more than one; they were all quite skilled assassins with very hidden auras.

Among them, there were actually two top experts at the fourth stage of martial arts!

Since when had fourth-stage martial arts experts become so common?

He looked at Gray and found that Gray was still at ease, clearly unaware that the princess was already being targeted.

Instead, Gray noticed his gaze and glared back unkindly, cursing in broken Sunlandian, "What are you looking at?"

James was speechless.

Soon, the concert began, and Kevin took the stage, causing a wave of screams from the audience. The noble princess instantly turned into a crazy fan, screaming loudly.

James kept his poker face, but his focus was laser-sharp on the group of assassins.

He counted six of them—two fourth-stage fighters and four third-stage ones. They outnumbered the princess's security team two to one.

If James hadn't been there, the princess would've been in serious trouble tonight. No doubt about it.

This was a royal princess. If something happened to her in Sunlandia, it would cause quite a stir. No wonder Rolf had put aside his pride to ask him to come and protect her.

Originally, this task was assigned to Sidney, but Sidney, who held a grudge against James, had passed this tricky task to him.

In other words, Sidney knew this task was difficult.

It was lucky that James was the one protecting her this time. Otherwise, with Sidney's skills, he really wouldn't have been able to protect the princess.

Feeling their auras getting closer, James became more alert and focused.

To be safe, he lowered his voice and said to Gray and the others, "Be alert, there are assassins targeting the princess."

"What?" Gray was immediately startled, then quickly furrowed his brows, calmed down, and began to inspect the surroundings. Not finding any trace of assassins, he sneered, "There's no assassin. You Sunlandians are so timid!"

The other two agents also laughed, thinking James was overly suspicious and simply afraid of dying.

James sighed. How could these guys be so clueless?

With this crowd, if the assassins decided to make a move, it'd be a bloodbath. Not good. The smart play was to draw them somewhere isolated.

He grabbed the princess's hand and whispered urgently, "Your Highness, we need to get out of here. Now."
