Chapter 19 James Discovers Top-quality Jadeite?

Dale nodded and began to act. His expression remained proud, matching his suit, giving him an air of superiority.

James sneered in secret. He had also heard of Dale's reputation. In the local jade gambling circle, Dale indeed had some fame but was far from being called a master.

Dale could only be considered slightly more knowledgeable than the average enthusiast. When it comes to stone gambling skills, Dale is still far behind compared to him.

Based on the fact that Dale missed a piece of jadeite raw stone with good color just now, James no longer took him seriously.

At this moment, Dale selected five pieces from the ten-thousand starting price stones for Phillip to buy. Two of these stones caught the eye of another buyer, leading to a bidding war.

In the end, Phillip bought these five stones for seventy thousand dollars.

Phillip usually enjoyed small bets for fun, so spending seventy thousand at once made him a bit nervous, especially since he had only made a profit of twenty thousand from Dennis earlier.

Soon, his worries vanished without a trace as two of the stones revealed jade, and not just any jade, but high-quality agate!

He exclaimed, "Ha ha ha, a true master indeed! Respect, respect!" Phillip's face lit up with excitement as he burst into laughter, thoroughly delighted. He gazed at the raw jade before him, overwhelmed with joy.

This piece of raw jade must be worth over two hundred thousand!

With two out of the five stones revealing jade, the probability was already quite high. Many stone gambling enthusiasts around had bought ten stones each and hadn't found any jade.

Many people gathered around, envying Phillip. Learning of Dale's identity, they became even more excited, fawning over Dale, seeking guidance.

Within half an hour, many had already lost a considerable amount of money.

However, Dale coldly rejected all requests from the crowd and said, "Mr. Anderson invited me to assist in selecting stones for his father-in-law. I regret that I cannot accommodate your requests."

Mr. Anderson was naturally Phillip's son-in-law, a minor official in the cultural relics bureau. He had brought Dale over to please his father-in-law and to show off.

Indeed, upon hearing Dale's words, a sense of disappointment swept across everyone, mixed with congratulations towards Phillip for securing a good son-in-law, leaving others green with envy.

Phillip, in particular, savored the praise, laughing until his eyes squinted shut. He even shot a triumphant glance at Dennis, and his gaze filled with a hint of boastfulness.

Dennis, a man who valued his pride above all else, seethed with anger when Phillip shot him that glance. He felt so furious that he could have turned red, but he restrained himself from unleashing a tirade.

The crowded room and the stark realization that his son-in-law was far inferior to Phillip's son-in-law kept him in check.

Instead, he directed his frustration at James, venting, "You both are sons-in-law, but look at Juan and then at yourself! How dare you show your face here, you good-for-nothing! Good-for-nothing!"

If it weren't for the crowd, he would have slapped James. What sins had he committed in his past life to end up with such a useless son-in-law?

If his daughter were ugly, that would be one thing, but she was a beauty. The more he dwelled on it, the more his anger boiled within him.

James remained silent, not responding. To others, it seemed like he was being cowardly, lacking any manly spirit.

In reality, James hadn't paid attention to Dennis's words because he had once again felt the seal inside him loosen a bit!

Now, he could use about thirty percent of his normal strength.

His senses had become sharper, and his vision had improved. With a single glance, he could assess all the raw stones in the area.

Suddenly, his whole body trembled slightly, his pupils contracting as he stared intently at an inconspicuous raw stone.

A top-quality jadeite was truly emerging!

Judging by the patterns on the raw stone, it had a long history, indicating superior quality.

Jennifer, seeing his dumbfounded expression, kicked him from behind and scolded, "If I knew you'd act like this, I wouldn't have brought you here. You're embarrassing me."

Startled by James's sudden intense gaze, Jennifer was taken aback. "What are you doing?" she asked.

James took a deep breath and whispered, "I found top-quality jadeite. It hasn't been purchased yet. Jennifer, you should go buy that raw stone."

Jennifer paused for a moment, then burst out laughing. She scoffed, "James, do you think you're being funny with this joke?"

James furrowed his brow, and seriously said, "I'm not joking. That's really a piece of top-quality jadeite. I estimate it's worth over two million dollars!"

However, Jennifer became even more disdainful, doubtfully saying, "Come on, you're really full of yourself. If it were truly top-quality jadeite, someone would have bought it already. Do you really think you're a master?"

As James prepared to speak, Jennifer cut him off impatiently, "Shut up!"

Kaitlyn, who was upfront, caught wind of their conversation and spun around to inquire, "What are you two whispering about back there?"

Jennifer retorted with a hint of annoyance, "Nothing much. James is boasting that he's found an exceptional jadeite. Can you believe the nerve?"

Kaitlyn paused, noticing James's composed expression, not at all indicative of jest, and she quickly tugged at Dennis's clothes, mentioning, "Dennis, James says he's discovered an exceptional jadeite."

Dennis said, "What? An exceptional jadeite?!"

Dennis jolted, his exclamation echoing loudly, immediately drawing the crowd's attention towards them.

"Dennis, did you really find top-quality jadeite?" a person in the crowd asked.

"Holy crap, is it real? There's really a top-quality jadeite here!" one person said.

"Where, where? I've been gambling on stones for so long, but I've never seen a top-quality jadeite with my own eyes," another person followed.

Even Phillip and his group approached Dennis, asking, "Dennis, did you find top-quality jadeite? Is it true? Show it to us."

Phillip said this with a tone dripping with envy.

Dennis looked bewildered and said, "I haven't even started gambling on the raw stones yet. Where would the top-quality jadeite come from?"

Someone remarked, "You said you found top-quality jadeite earlier?"

Everyone looked displeased, thinking Dennis was deliberately teasing them.

As Dennis regained his senses, he glared at Kaitlyn in anger, demanding, "Stupid woman, what did you say about top-quality jadeite earlier?"

Kaitlyn pointed at James, saying, "It was James. He claimed to have found top-quality jadeite."

In an instant, everyone's gaze turned towards James.

Jennifer's expression changed, and she quickly distanced herself from James, afraid of being embarrassed as well.

The atmosphere froze for two seconds before erupting into laughter.

Somebody scoffed, "Who would have thought it was James!"

Another ridiculed, "Isn't he the precious son-in-law of the Johnson Family? I heard he's been married into the family for five years and still hasn't found a job."

Someone sneered, "Hahaha, and he discovered top-quality jadeite? This is the funniest joke I've heard this year."

One mocked, "Dennis, you're going to strike it rich now. Your son-in-law found top-quality jadeite. You better hurry up and buy it from Mr. Rogers before someone else does. It wouldn't be good if it got snatched away."

Everyone mocked, clearly not believing that James could find an exceptional jadeite.
