Chapter 244 Harmony is Poisoned
"What’s up with Harmony again? She was fine just a moment ago, and now she's all over me?"
"And the worst part is, she was falling into my embrace!"
In an instant, James felt a surge of panic, his heart racing to the extreme.
To be honest, Harmony's figure was no less impressive than Jennifer's. With her throwing herself onto James like this, it was impossible for James not to feel anything.
James felt his body heat up significantly, his mouth dry, and for a moment, his brain was almost deprived of oxygen.
Fortunately, Harmony was shorter than James; otherwise, she would have kissed him. But even so, their posture was still very suggestive! Harmony's lips landed on James's neck, and he could clearly feel the texture of her lips.
"Harmony, are you crazy?" James frantically tried to push her away but found that Harmony had no strength in her body.
"Don't move, my thigh got bitten."

He immediately looked down at Harmony's thigh and indeed saw two small wounds oozing blood.

James immediately became tense when he realized she had been bitten by a snake, and judging by Harmony's painful expression, it was venomous!
"You've been bitten by a venomous snake," James said gravely. He no longer tried to push Harmony away but instead supported her body to keep her from falling.
Upon hearing James's words, Harmony's face changed instantly, a mix of panic and fear. "A snake? I'm terrified of snakes! Get it away from me!"
Her voice was tearful, making her sound pitiful.
James was initially quite angry, but her miserable condition made him feel pity.
After all, no matter how capricious her manner could be, she was still Jennifer's best friend. He knew he must take care of her in such a severe situation.
"You don't need to be afraid; the snake has already run away," James said. He took the opportunity to look behind Harmony and saw a black-and-white snake slithering into the grass a few meters away.
Seeing this snake, James's heart sank immediately.
'This was a highly venomous snake!' he exclaimed inwardly.
He knew this type of snake well. When a person was bitten by the snakes, they didn't feel much pain initially and might even feel sleepy. But after a couple of hours, localized paralysis sets in, and if not treated promptly, it could be fatal!
'Wait a minute. This type of snake usually comes out at night. It's not even evening yet; why is it out now?'
James frowned and quickly noticed something was wrong. Besides this snake, he saw other venomous snakes nearby!!
This was definitely not normal; someone had maliciously released these venomous snakes.
In an instant, James felt like he had walked into a trap.
"James, I feel a bit sleepy, and my thigh is numb and weak. Am I going to die?" Harmony clung tightly to James's clothes, her voice filled with intense fear and reluctance.
"Silly, you're fine. How could you die? Besides, I'm here with you. Let's find a place where I can help you expel the venom," James said calmly, giving Harmony a sense of security.
"I can't walk anymore. What should I do?" Harmony's legs were already weak.
Normally, even if a venomous snake bit a person, the venom wouldn't act so quickly. But Harmony had previously suffered from a strange illness that altered her constitution, making the venom spread much faster than in an ordinary person.
Seeing this, James didn't dare to delay any longer. Indeed, dealing with snake venom wasn't particularly difficult for him, but given Harmony's unique constitution and the current situation, he needed to take action quickly.
"I'll carry you," James said. At this moment, he couldn't worry about anything else. He picked Harmony up and looked around, spotting a secluded patch of grass to the right that could provide some cover.
That spot was relatively isolated, and generally, no one would come by, making it the safest place he could find at the moment.
Harmony did feel a bit sleepy, but not to the point where she couldn't keep her eyes open. Her lower body was numb, but not to the extent that she couldn't walk at all. She mostly wanted James to take care of her.
Now, being held by James and feeling his strong arms and solid chest, as well as his strong masculine charm, she found it so enjoyable that she even thought it was worth being bitten by a snake. If it weren't for the snake bite, James wouldn't be holding her and worrying about her.
She suddenly felt a bit jealous of her friend.
'Jennifer must often enjoy James's tenderness and care, right?' she wondered.
She half-closed her eyes, holding onto James's neck, looking at his serious expression from this angle, and found herself deeply moved!
'Why hadn't I noticed before how handsome and charming James was?' she thought.
James had no idea what was going on in Harmony's mind. He quickly walked to the patch of grass, confirmed that no one else was around, and put Harmony down, saying seriously, "I'll use acupuncture to help expel the venom, and then we'll go back. I'll prescribe some medicine for you, and you'll be fine after taking it."
Harmony said somewhat disappointedly. "Isn't it supposed to be sucked out with the mouth?"
James replied. "Who told you it needs to be sucked out with the mouth?"
Harmony said confidently, "That's how it is on TV. When the heroine gets bitten by a venomous snake, the hero always sucks out the venom with his mouth. And those scenes are very romantic."
James felt helpless.
"That's just TV; can it be applied to real life?" he murmured.
"That's the wrong way to do it. In fact, when bitten by a venomous snake, you shouldn't use your mouth to suck out the venom," James said. "Unless it was necessary."
"Really? That's such a shame," Harmony said, full of reluctance.
James rolled his eyes.
"So you just want me to suck your thigh, huh? Besides, the wound is almost on your butt; it's not appropriate for me to suck it."
But as soon as James finished speaking, Harmony immediately responded, "I don't mind!"
James looked at her strangely. "What did you say?"
Harmony felt shy and her voice softened. "You've already seen my whole body. Suck the venom for me would not be a big deal."
