Chapter 573 Neil

James got Lisa's phone number and called her directly.

The call connected quickly.

But neither side spoke immediately; they both remained silent in tacit understanding.

This silence lasted for almost half a minute before James spoke first, "Why did you do it?"

Both of them were highly intelligent, and many things didn't need to be said to be understood.

Lisa's tone was flat, without any emotional fluctuation, as she said, "I just wanted to see her. It was her own decision."

James closed his eyes. Although he had already suspected that Lisa was behind it, hearing her admit it still made him furious.

"Do you hate me?" Lisa's voice had a strange tone.

James didn't answer her question but instead said directly, "Where did she head?"

Lisa said, "I don't know."

James's face immediately darkened, and he said in a low voice, "Lisa, I don't want to be your enemy. Don't make a mistake."

With this, Lisa laughed, "Serious? do you want to kill me?"

James also laughed, "Don't push me."

"Then come on, I'll be waiting for you in City of Mysteries," Lisa laughed even more brightly, as if she wasn't talking about something murderous but rather flirting.

James frowned. He wasn't afraid of being Lisa's enemy; he was afraid that if too much time passed, something might happen to Jennifer, Dennis, and Kaitlyn.

After another moment of silence, James's tone softened a bit, "What do you really want?"

It seemed noisy on Lisa's end, as some background sounds could be heard through the phone, "I'll say it again, I just wanted to see her. Leaving you was her own choice. I never forced her."

James clenched his fist and sneered, "Lisa, we're not fools. You don't need to say that! If you had just gone to see her without saying things that made her leave me, she would never have left! I'll say it one last time, tell me where she is. If she's safe, I'll let you go this time. Otherwise, don't blame me for being rude."

Lisa didn't respond immediately but remained silent for a while before saying, "Then come find me."

After saying this, she hung up the phone.

James listened to the busy tone on the phone, his face cold.

As he said, they were all smart people. Lisa definitely knew Jennifer's whereabouts, but she didn't tell him.

It seemed there was only one way.

Two minutes later, he received a text message from Lisa's number: [She's safe.]

Seeing this message, James felt a bit relieved.

It seemed he still had to go to City of Mysteries to confront Lisa in person!

On Lisa's end, she hung up the phone and stood alone on the balcony, her tall and graceful figure exuding an ethereal beauty. Every frame was like a beautiful painting. The gentle breeze lifted her silky hair and the hem of her dress, spreading her fragrance throughout the entire City of Mysteries.

She looked into the distance, a complex expression flashing across her face before quickly returning to normal.

At this moment, footsteps approached from behind. Heather walked up to her and respectfully said, "Ms. Savoy, the reporters are waiting for you."

Lisa turned around, nodded, and went back to the front desk to continue the press conference. She had founded an entertainment company that had signed hundreds of popular stars. The company was very powerful, and many of the current hot stars were promoted by her.

But compared to her, they were far inferior.

When she reappeared at the press conference, the photographers' flashbulbs went off wildly, capturing her every move incessantly.

In the crowd stood a man in a gray suit, wearing sunglasses, tall and incredibly handsome.

This man exuded a mysterious aura, as if the air around him swirled around him. Any man standing next to him would feel uncomfortable, suppressed, and instinctively keep their distance.

This man was now staring straight at Lisa, who was holding the press conference, his infatuation evident even through his sunglasses.

He was none other than Lisa's number one suitor, currently the most powerful young noble in New York City, Neil.

Lisa had long been aware of his presence, yet she didn't glance at Neil, indifferent to him. She sat there with an air of aloofness, exuding an immensely powerful aura. Every time she spoke, everyone would involuntarily fall silent, as listening to her was a profound pleasure.

She held this press conference because she had acquired another entertainment company and signed a new batch of popular stars, revealing her company even more powerful.

She was so beautiful that it was beyond normal beauty, reaching a level of angelic beauty.

Such a woman, no matter where she went, would have countless followers.

Any normal man who saw her once would find it hard to forget her for a lifetime. Even if he got married and became a father, it would be hard not to admire her.

They couldn't imagine that a woman like Lisa would have any man in the world refuse her favor.

The press conference lasted three hours, but Lisa only stayed for less than twenty minutes before leaving, leaving the rest to her subordinates.

"Lisa, you seem to have something on your mind." After Lisa came out, Neil appeared silently beside her and said gently.

Neil was a gentle soul, whose presence immediately put others at ease.

Of course, this gentleness was only for Lisa. To others, he was still quite aloof.

Lisa nodded lightly.

Neil continued, "Can I know what it is?"

His gentleness, combined with his handsomeness and status, was a great attraction to most women. But Lisa was indifferent, her heart not stirred at all.

This feeling was quite strange.

Although she didn't have romantic feelings for Neil before, she at least had a good impression of him because Neil was so handsome and excellent. Even a proud woman like Lisa admired Neil.

But now, facing Neil, she no longer had that admiration and felt very calm, just like an ordinary friend.

Deep down, she knew the reason was that she had met James.
