Chapter 582 The Gift
Cynthia was a rather reserved person. She didn't like making a big deal out of things. Every year, her birthday party was very low-key. Besides her family, she only invited a few friends like Neil and Maurice to her garden for a meal and some conversation.
The Robinson family wasn't a large clan but rather a scholarly one. Cynthia's father was a famed calligrapher, her uncle was a researcher, and she herself held a PhD with significant cultural accomplishments. She exuded an intellectual aura, a typical talented woman.
Therefore, she was the most low-key among the three beauties of the City of Mysteries. Many people, including James, had never seen her.
It was said that she had extensive knowledge in various disciplines and had won awards both domestically and internationally. She was quite an striking woman.
On the way there, James browsed through Cynthia's profile and became a bit interested in her.
James considered himself somewhat of a cultured person, and his calligraphy skills were not bad, either.
At 8 PM, Lisa arrived at Cynthia's residence, a place filled with flowers, very beautiful, with the fragrance of flowers permeating the air, making one feel refreshed.
When Lisa and Heather arrived, Neil was already there. He was dressed in casual clothes, not too expensive, which didn't quite match his noble status. Given his status, he should be wearing expensive clothes.
However, even in cheap clothes, he still looked very impressive, instantly elevating the value of his outfit.
"Lisa, good to see you." Neil saw Lisa and walked over with a joyful smile.
Lisa responded with a nod and walked into the garden. Neil, accustomed to her aloofness, didn't find it odd and quickly caught up with her, walking side by side.
Upon entering, they saw a garden full of flowers. Neil remarked, "Cynthia's gardening skills are getting better and better. To have a garden full of flowers in this season is impressive."
Lisa nodded in agreement.
"Mr. Stewart, Ms. Savoy, Ms. Robinson is in the courtyard, waiting for you with freshly brewed coffee," said a maid in uniform, who was gentle and graceful, greeting to Neil and Lisa.
The garden had a very vintage architectural style, mostly made of wood, with few electrical appliances in sight.
They walked in, turned a corner, and arrived at the courtyard, where there was a small pavilion with a wooden table. A woman in uniform was playing a zither, and the melodious sound was very beautiful.
This woman was very pretty, in a different style from Lisa. Lisa had exquisitely delicate features and a noble aura, like an angel. This woman had a more elegant and poetic demeanor, like a talented woman from a painting.
She was the main character of the evening, Cynthia.
Seeing Neil and Lisa arrive, Cynthia smiled gently, put down her zither, and walked over to greet them, "Neil, Lisa, good to see you."
Neil smiled, "It's your birthday today. Cynthia, this is my gift for you."
Cynthia took the gift box from Neil and opened it to find an old book with yellowed pages, indicating its long history. Most women would be unhappy to receive such an old book for their birthday, but Cynthia's eyes lit up with surprise and joy, "It's a poetry collection!"
Neil nodded with a smile, "Yeah, I came across it recently. I hope you like it."
Cynthia hugged the poetry collection to her chest and nodded vigorously, "I love it! Thank you."
Cynthia was younger than Neil, only twenty-three, the youngest in their field. Because of her gentle personality, Neil and Lisa treated her like a younger sister.
Seeing her smile so brightly, Lisa was also infected and showed a gentle smile, saying, "Cynthia, I don't have Neil's talent."
Cynthia took Lisa's hands and smiled, "Lisa, I'm already very happy that you came to celebrate my birthday."
"Oh, you're so sweet" Lisa laughed, taking a gift box from Heather and handing it to Cynthia, "Here, this is my gift for you. I hope you find your true love soon."
Neil's eyebrows twitched slightly at these words, and he gave Lisa a meaningful look.
Cynthia accepted the gift, thanked Lisa, and then smiled, "I also hope you find your Prince Charming soon."
Her gaze swept over Neil, who showed a satisfying smile.
Lisa smiled sweetly, whether she understood or not was unclear.
Opening the gift, Cynthia found another book, but this one was a signed work by a foreign master. Though not as valuable as Neil's gift, Cynthia was equally delighted.
Soon, Maurice, Brenda, and a few other friends from the industry arrived.
Maurice was a burly man, standing 6- foot-4 tall, with a rugged appearance and a loud voice. His voice could be heard before he even arrived.
Brenda, on the other hand, was a very seductive and glamorous woman, dressed in a fiery red uniform, exuding feminine charm.
Her beauty was yet another different type from Lisa and Cynthia.
Brenda was the epitome of allure, with a sexy figure and a small beauty mark at the corner of her mouth, making her look extremely beautiful and seductive.
Upon arriving, Brenda hugged Cynthia and mischievously pinched her butt, teasing, "Haven't seen you in half a year, Cynthia. Your figure has improved. Are you in love?"
Cynthia's face immediately turned red, and she retorted, "Brenda, you're teasing me again."
