Chapter 83 I Don't Like You

"Let's talk right here." Jennifer stopped in her tracks, her expression cold.

She was not an inconsiderable woman. James had done so much for her, and she had taken note of it all. Her fondness for James had grown, and she gradually accepted the fact that James was her husband.

Although Curtis was good, she no longer had feelings for him.

So, given this opportunity, she would take the chance to make things clear, cutting off the relationship with Curtis.

Seeing her attitude, Curtis felt increasingly furious. Before this, Jennifer had always been gentle in front of him.

Suppressing his displeasure, he said, "Jennifer, you've lost weight recently. Have you not been resting well? I know you blame me for being busy with work, not spending enough time with you, and making you look tired.

"But I promise, from now on, I will spend more time with you. Can you break up with James as soon as possible? It's hard for me to see you with him."

Curtis's words were quite affectionate and pitiful. Jennifer found it hard to bear.

She had known Curtis for a long time and even had a crush on him at one point. However, later, Curtis went abroad for further studies, and by a twist of fate, she ended up marrying James.

Now, after so many years have passed, things have changed. She had become a wife and no longer had feelings for Curtis.

The ambiguous relationship she maintained with Curtis some time ago was because Curtis pursued her persistently. At that time, she was deeply disappointed in James, and in a moment of lapsed judgment, she made such a move.

But now, after having experienced many things with James and seeing his true nature, she no longer had any feelings for Curtis.

"Curtis, I've made my decision," Jennifer stated and sighed, looking at Curtis with a complex expression.

Misunderstanding Jennifer's intention, Curtis was instantly delighted. He tried not to show his excited emotions, gazing affectionately at Jennifer, and remarked, "Is that so? I’m glad you made your decision finally."

Seeing Curtis's expression, Jennifer realized that he had misunderstood her intentions. Frowning, she said, "You've misunderstood..."

But Curtis interrupted her, continuing with a tender tone, "Jennifer, I know you're with James to make me jealous. Honestly, it's really hard for me to see you with him. I've just realized how important you are to me!

"Jennifer, you are the woman I love the most in my life. Let's be together; I will treat you like a princess and make you the happiest woman in the world!"

Jennifer was speechless, finding Curtis absurd.

It was strange. In the past, if Curtis had said these words to her, she would have been happy, feeling sweet and excited. But now, far from feeling sweet, she even felt disgusted and repulsed, involuntarily furrowing her brows.

"Wait a minute, it seems you've misunderstood me." Jennifer said coldly and bluntly, "When I said that I had made my decision, that only meant that I would be a good wife to James and no longer keep in touch with you. Curtis, you are a nice man, with your qualities, you can find a woman much better than me. I hope you understand that."

Upon hearing this, Curtis's affectionate expression stiffened on his face, becoming extremely unpleasant.

In the next moment, his breathing became rapid, his fists clenched, his emotions highly agitated, barely able to contain himself. Jennifer quickly stepped back, keeping her distance and watching him warily.

Curtis gritted his teeth, and after ten seconds, he forcibly calmed himself down. He stared at Jennifer intently, and impatiently remarked, "Jennifer, don't play this kind of joke with me, I don't like it!"

Jennifer said, "I'm not joking with you. Before, I thought I still liked you, but after spending time with James, I realized it was just a false feeling that was brought about when I was upset with James."

Then, she paused, sighed, and said to Curtis, "Curtis, I'm sorry."

Curtis's expression gradually turned cold, his face reddening, his emotions on the verge of erupting.

"Is James telling you to say this?" he asked as he looked at Jennifer urgently, his tone unstable.

Jennifer shook her head, and replied, "No, he has never forced me to do anything..."

At this point, she remembered last night when she had blamed James for her own actions, begging him, and how James had restrained himself. Her gaze softened.

She continued, "I've discovered my real feelings deep within my heart. I don't like you, and I can't be with you."

These words hit Curtis like a slap in the face, making his anger surge even more.

He looked towards James, who was standing not far away, with angry flames burning in his eyes.

At that moment, James was being mocked and taunted by Curtis's four companions, but he remained indifferent, with his eyes closed.

"So, you've been playing with me all this time?" Curtis said in denial. He laughed in anger, a terrifying cold smile curling his lips.

Jennifer furrowed her brows tightly. She had never seen Curtis lose control like this before, and her fondness for him diminished even further. Previously, Curtis had always been polite and gentle in her presence, but now, his gloomy and angry appearance was terrifying to behold.

"Curtis, don't be like this. There are plenty of women better than me. You don't need to dwell on me. Let's just be friends," Jennifer explained patiently.

She was starting to feel impatient now. Curtis's behavior had disappointed her greatly. She had always thought of Curtis as a charming gentleman, but in the end, he turned out to be a man with a violent temper.

Curtis became increasingly agitated. It wasn't just about losing Jennifer; it was more about her attitude towards him that offended his pride! And his unwillingness to lose to James, who was a useless waste?

He was unwilling and unsatisfied!

"No, I don't agree with what you're doing!" Curtis stated with gritted teeth, his emotions becoming more and more agitated. "I've done so much for you, and you can’t easily say it's over just like that, There's no way!"

With that, he reached out and grabbed Jennifer's wrist directly.

Jennifer's face changed immediately, quickly pulled her hand back and stepped back.

But Curtis was faster, reaching around from behind to embrace Jennifer.

"Curtis, what are you trying to do?!" Jennifer exclaimed and was immediately panicked.

At that moment, a figure quickly appeared, standing in front of Curtis, pushing him back. It was James, his eyes closed, but his attention had always been on this side.

When Curtis's emotions were about to spiral out of control, he sensed it and came over in advance to stop Curtis from harassing Jennifer, coldly saying, "Keep your hands off her."
